    So happy to find your video. I don’t know if you’re aware, but the rents in Canada are absolutely stupid. So I thought about the van life and all the vans I’ve looked at are so old and decrepit or there isn’t anything on that works. It boggles my mind all the things you have in your van and you’ve made it look so beautiful and homey. So now I’m going to refine my search because I noticed the vans like yours are affordable for me. I’m going to check out the rest of your videos. Thank you so much for sharing. My spirits were getting down about not finding a place to rent and you have given me hope thank you so much.

    I noticed you have a bed chair pillow for your back. I use these all the time to turn my bed into a chair. Kudos on having one of these. I’m so surprised that most of the video, all of the videos I watch no one using the bed pillow chair. I’m quite surprised. They are excellent for turning a bed into a chair/ lounge area.

    Always enjoy your tours, having browsed thru your other videos it's nice to see how it all functions together. I'm taking the Voyager out for her first overnight to a state park this wk end I am so excited! But; it may b my first and last local outing till next winter as it's already getting hot in FL and all the snakes and ticks will b out for spring soon, yuck! So, if I go out again it will b further north w a little colder temps to protect me and Foxy we don't like them! Idk if you're following my progress reports, but I used your bed idea in my no build after quickly realizing Head room was important to me as well, and I have a 4 fold mattress and kept my 28" wide wooden base in two panels so I can stack it up into a square whenever I want more floor space, totally inspired by you! I am wkg hopefully my last full time yr, one more at the most, and then I will slow it down to 6 mo's on, 6 mo's travel as I age thru my 60's. I feel so free just having my Van and my plan! Thank you for all your encouragement and inspiration!

    GREAT JOB!! I've been watching LOTS of minivan camper videos for about 3 years. I chose the same layout for WHEN I get a my Caravan (love the stow-n-go seating) around the end of this year, when I start drawing Social Security, and I'm going to take more vacations from work next year. I'm going to remove the 60 part of the 60/40 back seat and one of the center seats (I'll only have 4, instead of 7, seats but there'll be more storage space). The bed will be a double-stack mattress that I can separate to make 2 beds if a friend or grandson joins me. I picked that layout because I'm tall, and I want to be able to access things in the way-back without having to go outside.

    great video. going road tripping in a van or truck is on my bucket list...fulltime job, part time graduate school, wife, kids, house and mortgage...feel like i'll never do it. im thinking of trying to get a fully remote job for at least a year and just go do it for a year. take the whole family. make memories with my kids before they get too big and dont want to hang out with dad/mom. i need to just do it. life is too short to just sit around bogged down, before i know it my kids will be all grown up, me and (and wife) will be too old to want to do it. i just need to do it.

    These videos of yours are really helpful. I had myself thinking I was going to have all this carpentry done to my minivan, but I realized it's overkill. I much prefer your style of DIY and organized chaos. Do you have a more in-depth video about your bed platform?I really like the idea of having multiple layers (wood, foam, mattress) to level out a bed because that seems like it will save a lot of hassle and give better head room.

    New Sub here, 2021 Chrysler Voyager.not built yet..soon to be though..After owning over 10 RV's over the yers, mostly class A diesel such as my old 1983 Bluebird Wanderlodge, total money pit! After all those huge beasts for just me alone and my kitties, i decided to go the van route! Could never find a lower cost class B like a Roadtrek I said heck with this!! I'll get a minivan and go the stealth route! You have an awesome tour and build! Great cheerful van interior! I have seen those narrow shelves at IKEA too for $19.95. I plan to get the black version as my interior is black leather which I hate! Hate leather!! Anyway, safe travels and hope to see you on the road or one of the RTR.. I have some land near Kristopher Travels and Homesteading. Have yet to go out there and do anything.. I planned to do a shed house as a home base,, Cheers!

    Nicely done tour. Frequently I stop watching very early in a video because the creator is rambling on and on about things that are unrelated to the actual subject. You stayed on point and held my interest. Wynston’s cameo was a nice surprise too. I watch a lot of van build videos and I wonder what is the motivation for going out and staying in the van, especially somewhere as remote as BLM land? Thanks. rq

    I noticed that you keep the butane cylinder engaged in your stove. This is not a good practice. Being engaged there is a chance you could loose some butane due to slow seepage. And, that could be a potential safety issue if you are in the van with the windows closed. And, the knob could get bumped while you are pushing things in and out of the van. When not actually cooking you should completely remove the butane cylinder from the stove. And make sure to keep and replace the little red plastic cap that came with it. Without the cap on, something could push down on the tube at the top of the cylinder and cause all of the butane to escape. And that could be a very bad thing.

    • @AdventuringWithAmanda
      @AdventuringWithAmanda  Год назад +1

      It's actually not engaged when sitting in the stove. I have to lock it in place every time I use it. Butane has to be burning to be a true safety hazard. And it's easy to smell if there's actually an issue.
