Well, Tony does get criticized constantly by quite literally everyone. That includes not just us fans, but damn near every big name in the business that has a podcast. So it makes sense that he's feeling attacked left and right, but it is a shame because most of us are indeed just trying to help. Everyone can see the ways in which it could be much better, but Tony seems to have no desire to improve the product in any way. As a result, the company isn't growing. It hasn't grown at all since Dynamite started in late 2019, and that's definitely not good. They've at least maintained the audience they have, but I have to wonder how long that will last.
Other then MJF vs Punk i can't remember a memorable feud in AEW . They just have matches. And when they bring in these guys from Japan or Mexico and give them title matches how about a little information about who they even are. Maybe a little promo showing what they've done and where they did it.
Do vignettes like WWE used to do cause OUTSIDE of MJF and CM Punk I COULDN'T CARE FRIGGEN LESS about these ppl. Jungle Boy starts getting heat and they hide him away. ANYONE outside of the Elite that start getting over either gets buried with silly shit or get 0 T.V. time.

Tony Khan is just in mark tears because Eric Bischoff has the guts to call him out. Konnan protects Tony Khan way too much, he makes himself look bad from protecting TK the way he does.
Tony Khan is going to have to learn how to take criticism and advice from guys like Eric bashoff and Jim cornette who's been in the business of very long time and it is trying to give you criticism on how to get your show better
No the problem is random matches........... When I see 2 guys face off with no build, no story, or reason I don't care about it. When they build a story, give the guy REASONS to hate eachother, and it is consistently coherent and makes sense I absolutely LOVE THAT.
Konnan just said what I have been saying for two years. Many people have an *emotional investment* in Tony Khan, as the white knight who is 'one of us' and can run a wrestling promotion the way 'we' want it, because that's what 'he wants'. By the same token, Tony has a huge emotional investment in being a part of, and being loved by, the wrestling community and (I'm speculating but it seems evident) that he wants to be that white knight for all of 'us'. The one thing that people can never forgive is when others don't live up to their expectations, and now that there are the inevitable problems of running a business where lots of people with big egos are involved, and the expectations are not being fulfilled on both sides, that's what we're seeing today. That's one of the reasons I think Tony lashes out at criticism. I get it - I do it myself. "Don't you people see how much I'm doing for you?", and it hurts because you're trying so hard but not everyone is happy.
Bischoff leaned wrestling by working in the AWA and WCW before taking over WCW, TK learned wrestling by watching it. He doesn't know what he doesn't know

Stop making excuses or having sympathy for Tony, Konnan. Tony is the worst promoter of all time hooked up on cocaine who needs to take criticism and change for the better. He has no idea what he is doing. Every bad thing to come out of AEW is Tony's fault
The other big issue Tony has is he doesn't listen to 83 Weeks. Because while Tony says Eric put on randam Lucha matches for several years in WCW and they were successful, why can't I. Because Eric brings up in retrospect that was a mistake because it wasn't until the curiserweights had been around for almost two years before they started doing storylines which by that point certain performers who were key to those lucha matches were getting frustrated because they felt they weren't being used properly. The other issue was because there was no real character development if those characters by the time they startrd to develop those characters WWE had taken control of the ratings so here they were trying to create new characters when they should've been trying to it from the start. It would be the same thing if Tony said WCW had Thunder why can't we have Rampage, because Eric says Thunder was biggest mistake he made for WCW because it caused more problems and he knew it would be a bad idea he just chose to please Ted Turner instead of listening to everyone including himself. The best advice I would give to Tony is just listen to something like 83 Weeks because there are plenty of times Eric says I didn't do this which hurt us in the long run or I wished I said no to this decision because it would saved so much time and effort and caused few headaches.
WCW had the greatest roster in the history of wrestling, yet showcased everyone either on Nitro,Thunder or Saturday Night, Luchadors had the opening matches and had major storylines like LWO ,rey jr mask,Chavo v Eddie etc etc, all midcard had a spot, and the storylines for the major feuds lasted months...in comparison with AEW ,wheres Christian? wheres big show? i can't name 1 feud that had months of build up,normally it's 2 weeks max,why should fans invest?
I think Bischoff is brilliant and I think Khan is very entertaining, but Eric has put Tony on a skewer and scorched him a few times now. Khan calling Bischoff a hypocrite isn't as bad as Bischoff saying he doesn't respect Tony, insinuating he's gay, calling him a bitch etc.
Tony has brought all that on himself by continually throwing shade at Eric/WcW/Ted Turner. Why the hell should Eric respect him? Give me one reason why anybody should respect Tony? What the hell has he ever done besides hitting the genetic lottery and being the son of a billionaire?
Konnan’s take at the beginning of this is spot on. U shouldn’t take shots tony. What u need to do is call someone like Eric and get knowledge. A opportunity to get a mind like Regal to be ur right hand was out there but HHH saw that and now he is his right hand.
I love the portrait of this one. TK : Rrrraghhhh Konnan : Oh, Not again. 😑 Eric Bischoff : Leave him be Konnan. Easily imagine if Herb Abrams resurrected and working together with Tony Khan 😄
Bischoff worked his way up from being a syndicator/spot show promoter/announcer for the AWA to being on top the wrestling world with WCW in the mid 90's. Khan is a spoiled rich kid who still hasn't come close to beating WWE.
TK is a huge mark for himself, has no leadership skills, and that has lead to the big problems in aew, giving evp status to talent was a huge mistake and so unprofessional.
I remember in 1999 though when they would book Konnan and Stevie Ray week after week, and it made no sense why they were wrestling against one another. Even though they were on opposite factions of NWO, there was no explanation if the two having heat.
AEW fans behave like scientologists. And WWE fans "trolling" AEW to me and from what I've seen is people pointing out that AEW is no different than WWE, and the only reason why people are praising it is because it isn't WWE (in name at least).
1) Eric Bischoff beat RAW - not NXT. 2) Bischoff didn't "kill" WCW or put it out of business. It didn't matter if the show was great or not, because Time Warner had already said that they didn't want wrestling on their networks. 3) Bischoff worked in the business before becoming the head of WCW. Tony was just a fan. 4) Bischoff created megastars that people still talk about today like DDP, Goldberg, Booker T, Sting, etc. Tony hasn't created anyone. MJF has gotten over on his own. 5) Nitro looked, and felt, professional. AEW looks amateurish. 6) Pre-1999, WCW always had something big for you to look forward to. AEW doesn't seem to be heading in any direction and don't have any big storylines or matches coming up.
Bischoff, for all the talk of him, was also teachable and took the time to learn what works and what doesn’t, and wasn’t afraid to experiment. TK just can’t stand to be wrong. The shows are too safe, beneath all the acrobatics and drawing everything out. And people don’t really talk enough about the thought that went into the set designs for WCW, even without all the big money flash of it. They still have some of the most memorable weekly arena designs, let alone their PPV designs. Someone backstage understood that The set is actually part of the show, and that’s not something AEW (or even really WWe today) really gets. But Eric’s other gift was knowing when and how to cultivate that midcard talent, through all those random matchups. They show you something special, like DDP did, they get a push. And that’s always worked.
TONY IS RIGHT HERE. K100 is stretching hard to find a way to make WCW seem smarter for running "el dandy vs. Blitzkreig" as filler with no story. Listen to all the justification and ways they are trying to make wcw seem smarter for doing the same exact shit. Fucking marks in this clip.
Disco calling out toxicity is HILARIOUS.... Tony Khan was right. Bischoff booked random matches just as much in those 83 Weeks he still lives in in his head. I was there, I was watching.
If vince mcmahon was actually on twitter I would constantly bring up the time he got chased out the locker room by bad news and slapped by several wrestlers.
Why does Tony Khan keep going on the exact same shows to promote AEW? Doesn't he notice that ticket sales and ratings are down? Shouldn't he be trying to do something new to bring in new fans?
IDK i see some WCW type booking from khan time to time. We didn't know some of the characters back then either, so how are we judging for the same shit is were im confused? cause some the talent that was brought in from mexico or japan we didnt know.
I think I’m going to come from the other side on this one but I think the issue with what Eric is saying… he was acting like WWE had better storylines when Vince was in charge and that is clearly not the case. Eric‘s props to EW have been few and far between versus all of his criticisms even to the point to where Conrad has had to step in and kind of counterpoint him on some of the things he was saying. I just think any criticism that Eric gives will come off is not being genuine. So if he’s trying to get Tony to listen to him he’s not doing a good job of building a relationship with him.
Well at least WCW Nitro did beat Raw in the ratings and became the most dominant show at the time unlike AEW Dynamite with their embarrassing ratings every week
How is it embarrassing if the show consistently ranks in the top 5 shows on cable ratings wise? The 90s was a simpler time. @@coreyhall1150 you contradict yourself in your statement. If ratings mean everything as you say, then why is being in the top 5 on cable "like being the most handsome burn victim at the clinic."? If they aren't #1 on cable for the night, since when does being #2-5 equate to embarrassment when they beat out dozens of other shows in the same time slot?Obviously there is a different metric at play if the number 2 or 3 show for any given time slot only pulls in around 900k or so live viewers. I've already stated why that might be the reason. Hell, even TV executives and other actual entertainment insiders say the same thing. There is more to do out there in the world. There are more options for entertainment and pass times. People can watch pretty much whatever they want on demand as inn there isn't a need to be at home in front of the TV as the show is being broadcasted live. Just because some mark like you asks a bunch of nobodys who don't know jack shit about anything doesn't mean the rest of the world is as retarded as they are. Your biased opinion doesn't equal fact. The fact is that the network has so far been happy with AEW's ratings because I'm sure that somewhere in their TV deal, there is a clause that has something to do with being pulled from the air or the deal being terminated for underperformance.

Tony was born with a silver spoon and isn't use to people disagreeing with him. Tony is supposed to be anti Vince McMahon yet just like Vince he makes all the creative choices lol. Vince at least surrounded himself with other knowledgeable people and would hear them out from time to time lol
exactly, in the 80s, 90s and most of the 00s Vince was always open to hear ideas and let guys run with them, he became more picky to his fashion later on, but Khan hires great wrestling minds for show and puts them in a corner when it comes to the big picture, crazy.
What makes you think Tony doesn't have knowledgeable people around him. Didn't Tony just hire Jeff Jarrett & he's got other veterans in AEW. Eric Bishoff had more better stars but WCW is dead in the Grave yard. So far to me Tony is the better CEO!

Tony litterally has all the people we grew up in wrestling shouting advice at him and he isn't listening to any of it.
Well, you see where a lot of the talent gets the idea they don't need to take advice from anyone
That's funny coming from Tony Khan saying not all matches have to have storylines leading into them or building them up. Um, hey Tony, wake the f*ck up because almost NONE of your matches have that!
Konnan was dropping some *FACTS* in the beginning here. People get so lost in their subjective feelings on things and take criticism too personally. You can learn more about yourself and your craft from people that disagree than from those that agree with everything you do.
I can't wait to hear Eric's response, lol. It should be good.
Disco said exactly what I've been thinking about the AEW fans. This is why I didn't like the idea of competition because I remember how catty and petty the fans were during the Monday Night Wars. The only difference is we weren't on the internet in 97-01 as heavy as we are now. 1996 was a good time though. We were all bonding saying "Suck It" and "2 Sweet" at the same time. It got toxic between fans of certain companies at the beginning of the 00s.
It been toxic since the 80s when that idiot vince brought that trash product to Georgia known as black Saturday. WWE fans is the problem they were the problem in the 80s 90s, 00s, and now.
Uhhhhhhh SUCK IT didn't come around till around mid to late 97. Stop lying.
ECW fans were like snobs though. They acted like they were in a special club for liking that much smaller branch of wrestling.

All I've learned from this is that Tony Khan refuses to listen to any form of criticism because someone else made the same mistake about 25 years ago. What kind of logic is this?
T.K. is the real life representation of Kyle's cousin from South Park. I'm looking forward to the Punk promo saying, "Tony Khan surrounds himself with B.S. yes men who tell him everything he wants to hear".....oh wait.
RAW, even at its absolute worst is still doing higher numbers than Dynamite, even when it was at its supposed best. Tony Khan has a lot to learn.
It's fine to have matches with no build occasionally but the problem is that's the majority of AEW's show.
Funny how Eric is the only guy that TK has no problem attacking
ANYONE outside of the Elite that start getting over either gets buried with silly shit or get 0 T.V. time.
That was the best thing they did, imo.
The build-up to Moxley/Kingston was really good too but I legit can't remember the match, just the promos.
Big props to getting rid of the ear bleeding bleep that was used for f bombs. Much much more pleasant to listen to. Now that's an example of taking criticism and making the product better
I remember Vince McMahon saying one time that a wrestling match without a story is just two guys doing moves in a ring and nobody wants to see that. There needs to be a reason for it
Tony's appearance in 2019 vs. 2022 is the "how it started/how its going" meme in real life.
Tony Khan is no better than the audience who watches his shows. He may be in his 40s but mentally he's still that little 8 year old playing with his action figures in his room.

"Don't you people see how much I'm doing for you?", and it hurts because you're trying so hard but not everyone is happy.
just wanna say that i love konnans nuanced, intelligent argumentation
you may not need a story for every match, but AEW rarely uses stories anymore and the product is suffering huge because of it
10:25 Konnan said exactly what I’ve been saying for a while. Wrestling is for everyone
Bischoff leaned wrestling by working in the AWA and WCW before taking over WCW, TK learned wrestling by watching it. He doesn't know what he doesn't know
Sick of hearing that i have an issue if i dont like AEW. The show is like 85% fucking suck. I wish it was good so i could watch a whole wrestling show again
I'll take Bischoff over Kahn anyway,Bischoff was great in every wrestling company he went to.

Tony isn't wrong. There was a lot of "blitzkrieg vs. Silver king", "el dandy vs la parka", and "Villano 4+5 vs random team"
You can tell when Vince disagrees with something. He's just like "yeah........... yeah...............yeah..."
Everyone is a nerd it’s 2022.
Main audiences are born in the 80”s 70”s 90”s 200”s
Konnan still an impact guy love the impact love.
I can't believe that WCW is still relevant to this day, that's how you know how special that company was...
I would not be surprised if tony Kahn pees sitting down like a girl
Some rich people believe nobody can judge them because having a lot of money means your smarter & better then others rather then being rich
I'm the same age as Tony. I can admit that us born in 83 sometimes overestimate how much we know.
Konnan’s take at the beginning of this is spot on. U shouldn’t take shots tony. What u need to do is call someone like Eric and get knowledge. A opportunity to get a mind like Regal to be ur right hand was out there but HHH saw that and now he is his right hand.
How did Konnan meet Referee "El Gran Davis" and Perro Aguayo Jr?

I love the portrait of this one.
TK : Rrrraghhhh
Konnan : Oh, Not again. 😑
Eric Bischoff : Leave him be Konnan.
Konnan you’re right, Tony Khan isn’t like other promoters, he’s a smart who doesn’t know how to build talent
Those cold matches in WCW didnt have botches every other move too. The shit looked good, not this sub indy level shit.
If AEW ever becomes #1 over WWE, even for a second, Tony Khan might have a right to go at Bischoff. Otherwise, nope.
Tony is 100% correct. Nitro was at its best when it was filled with "random" matches. Every match needing a story is a Vince Russo invention.
AEW fans behave like scientologists.
And WWE fans "trolling" AEW to me and from what I've seen is people pointing out that AEW is no different than WWE, and the only reason why people are praising it is because it isn't WWE (in name at least).
Nobody wants to talk about how Eric Bischoff completely fumbled a pretty good TNA product🤷🤷🤷🤷

Disco calling out toxicity is HILARIOUS.... Tony Khan was right. Bischoff booked random matches just as much in those 83 Weeks he still lives in in his head. I was there, I was watching.
Also Eddie Kingston's story is that he's beating people up AFTER matches and has had a win reversed. It's great shit.

Their so weird see them online all the time getting legit angry and all looool
We didn't have a huge online gaming infrastructure with a huge gaming community, social media, a dozens of streaming services, and people didn't spend multiple hours of he day staring at their phones. The two generations aren't comparable.
