I can't believe you'd make a video on moe garbage... I thought you understood what a good show is. K-On is just underaged girls pandering to the lowest of otaku. It's shows like these that are the cancer in the anime community. Why couldn't you make a video on actual good shows like Evangelion? It's one thing to say that K-On has good animation, but to imply that there's any substance beyond that is asinine.
This fucking comment is cancer. A perfect example of a pretentious elitist who takes the common opinion as gospel and completely just disregards anything that goes against it. Instead opening up your got damn brain and understanding the point of the video, maybe you would have realized that the video is about the cinematography of the show, not the show itself. Goodness gracious, you people are fucking worse than the "tasteless casuals" you bash. You really are.
OK so apparently this was intended as a joke that didn't quite translate well over the internet. I would delete my comment but that's how I seriously feel about people who legit write these type of comments and mean it; I don't regret writing what I did, I just regret not seeing the fact that this was a joke. My apologies.
+Enoch Hilliard Yeah, that didn't seem much like a meme/joke to me either no need to take back your comment, the elitism in the anime community can be cancerous at times.
I love how you frequently pause mid-sentence in order to put the focus on the video and let the show speak for itself, rather than just letting the visuals exist in the background all the time, I feel like it really helped get the point across and keep the video engaging. You've definitely convinced me to watch K-On again at some point and pay more attention to the animation and directing.
And yet, sadly, people still write this anime off as "moe trash". Sure, I like K-On for its cute fluff just as much as I enjoy it for its character dynamics and brilliant animation directing, but it still disappoints me that people don't seem to be willing to give it any credit past your typical "cute girls doing cute things" argument. Great video.
I watch this RUclips video almost everytime i want to have my passion for animation to return. Usually had it downloaded in my phone but since it broke I was searching for this again and it took me nearly an hour since if you searched "k-on review" you wouldn't see this and I ended up searching "naoko Yamada review" and ended up finding this channel finally I've been watching this for around 4 years now and it greatly influenced my perception of media and my life so I'm just here to Say thanks 🎉🎉
Just got into anime like 2 months ago, and this one stood out the most. I recently finished this and it’s really touched me idk why. It literally distracted me from my surgery and made me forget about the pain right after. There is something about this show idk what, but its special.
Hirasawa Yui Im scared. I'm season 2 episode 16, I don't want it to end. I'm procrastinating watching, which is weird. I love the show, I just dont want it to end, does it have to end?
Great video, I always am happy to see more videos about K-on! as it has become easily one of my top three anime. I actually have a rough script planned for a K-on! video myself, I just need to rewatch the show to get everything fresh in my head to finish it. Glad to see you going strong though.
Each of your videos have so much care put into them, unexpected for this medium. Thank you for so professionally and tactfully approaching your subject matter.
Just finished this anime again after watching it for the first time, that transition from Yui's solo My Love Is A Stapler to their final act in their Senior almost teared me up, ngl. This anime is just so good, and your video, too. Less words but it delivers. Good job.
Someone else here already pointed out how that Sansha Sanyou cut *did* actually tell us a decent bit about her character. I think that your issue with it actually stems more from the character of Futaba herself. She's fairly shallow relative to any of the K-On girls, really just a solid Genki Girl archetype who loves food, so there is less substance to her character that could be communicated. I think that cut basically tells us all there is to know.
I love how alive and natural the animations and their expressions feel, especialy in the openings, all subtle movements and fluidity. The animation is just incredible
That's the brilliance of K-On. There's tons of depth for those who actually give the series the attention it deserves, and more meaningful character development than most shows, but people look past it so easily. The people who are willing to just dismiss K-On as "moe blob" will not pick up on these subtleties, which goes to show how biased a lot of people can be. This is why a show like K-On, with tons of subtitles is so rewatchable and enjoyable, but it's also why there's tons of people who blindly hate it
Great video, my friend. Really appreciate all the work you incorporate in your videos. K-On was an anime that I watched, not expecting anything special. Happy to have been proven wrong about that! Keep it up!
I would just like to say that you have amazing quality in your videos and deserve alot more subscribers. Keep up the quality and Im sure you'll rise to the top! :)
thanks for the video i just finished the anime and watched everything for it and i don't know if you talked about that before but i like how the background sounds is great when they are walking in the school yard you hear the Musical Instruments sounds (i don't know if I write it right) and when they at home you hear the thing in japan that's speak through speaker (sorry i dont know what is it but i know that's in japan) and More i just noticed this and i like it
What strikes me about K-on is how realistic the setting and characters appear to be. I think it is a testament to KyoAni how much effort they put into the series considering how they make their world feel lived in and realistic.
I got to say, you sir inspire me in an artistic level, I'm being serious too. All the things you say and bring points to really help me mold my thoughts on storytelling, music, drawing and really art in general. Like how you understand and appreciate the art in something most people pass off as nothing more that moe fanservice fluff. Love it, keep it going strong man!
It's crazy to me how K-On was what really made me an anime fan. Now after watching so many SoL anime, and anime in general, I still hold it in high regard for its animation, character development and chemistry, and the subtle visual storytelling. It's really hard to find another anime like this that isn't made by KyoAni. I think what a lot of other anime does wrong is having this group of character labeled as friends, but the chemistry and bonds aren't there or poorly communicated. And I agree with many other K-On fans, it's much more than just a moe show and it's unfortunate that even with the amount of love poured into the characters, people still can't at least respect the how real these characters are... Nothing wrong with moe shows either.
I really love this analysis, this and under the scope's. not overly weeby like digibro's, artful picks for visuals and audio, and peaceful narration. Also k-on so it's 100x better. hope my bump on *shudder* tumblr got you some views.
So glad a spontaneous K-On Crack vid binge brought me here. Great vid! I'm so tired of Moe-bashers. Not all good anime has to be about blood, gore, sex. I love me some of those...but I also love me lotsa after school tea-time! Now excuse me as I go binge this masterpiece for the umpteenth time! Ps. Great outro track! Can I find it anywhere?
There's a couple things i don't like about K-On. I think Mio hits Ritsu WAY too much, and the amount of times Yui shows affection, or tries to go overboard, for Azusa, or tries to get her to do stuff for her, which she can clearly do herself, borders on creepy.
I disagree on the Sansha Sanyou cut. I think that portrays a lot about her character. The constant smile, the boisterous movement, the amount of food she's carrying. I think it's a little better than you are giving it credit for.
I don't think the Sansha Sanyou cut is bad by any standard. I do think it doesn't really let us peek into her character consistently throughout the show (we don't ever really go back to that run of her's), which isn't a requirement or should it ever be, but it's nice to see a show have the smallest things reoccur throughout.

***** I think you're confusing the purpose of the cut. It is supposed to be overly exuberant and boisterous, as it is. Dogakobo has never been very concerned with that in any of their work anyway.

no need to take back your comment, the elitism in the anime community can be cancerous at times.
Damn it, now I want to watch K-On for the 10th time.
I’ve watched it 21 times lmao
I swear I watched it 10 times in a single year. Have seen it many more times since then
This new world of K-On! worship fills me with hope.
Agreed entirely. I used to feel like even most of its fans did not appreciate the full depth of what it did right, but that might finally be changing.
sammmmmme
We clearly must create a council to study the masterpiece that is K-On.
It will eventually devolve into a best girl debate :P
Reydriel Yui is best girl btw
+Reydriel She's worst girl.If you choosed Ritsu I understand but TRASH?How?
No need to. Digibro allready has a two-part video with a total lengh of 1.5h out that serves your purpose very well.
@The Former Doug Dimmadome Wise words, very wise words
As someone who finished marathoning the series, I agree. Everything was emotionally subtle and relatable. Definitely a great time!
I love how you frequently pause mid-sentence in order to put the focus on the video and let the show speak for itself, rather than just letting the visuals exist in the background all the time, I feel like it really helped get the point across and keep the video engaging. It is moe trash, just very well executed moe trash.
***** Good or otherwise, all moe is by default: garbage.
+Sims (Ssms) In what way is moe garbage? Do you see it as an objective thing, or is it a more subjective opinion of yours?
2016 and people still label certain genres/styles as "trash" by default. It's so unpleasant to interact with people in this community...
Ever considered the possibility that the Moe genre became trash when they tried to cash in on the rise of well made Moe which is K-On?
I watch this RUclips video almost everytime i want to have my passion for animation to return.

Now tell me K on isn’t one of the best slice of life of all time.
I'll go one better. K-on *is* the best slice of life anime
Just got into anime like 2 months ago, and this one stood out the most. I recently finished this and it’s really touched me idk why. It literally distracted me from my surgery and made me forget about the pain right after. There is something about this show idk what, but its special.
I am using my expensive mobile data for you.Yeah you're that good.
cool name
+Chaos Reaper I know right?
the transition at 3:21 was very nicely done
I'm convinced. I'm now watching k-on
You won't be disappointed
Haboozala well, a few days later and im almost out of k-on.
i know this feeling
+innodationproduction out? are you disappointed or are you nearly finished the show?
Hirasawa Yui Im scared. I'm season 2 episode 16, I don't want it to end. I'm procrastinating watching, which is weird. I love the show, I just dont want it to end, does it have to end?

I... didn't know I can love K-On even more than I did. Apparently, I can xD
Thank you.
Thanks for drawing attention to the little things that make or break shows of this genre.
Just finished K-On yesterday actually, loved it
This show is what made me fall in love with Kyoto Animation...and Tamako Market sealed it.
Each of your videos have so much care put into them, unexpected for this medium. Thank you for so professionally and tactfully approaching your subject matter.
i love k-on (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ
Thanks for using two of my beats in this video my dude :D
You always have the coolest outro music.
Simok1234 nice pic
I said it with a pose look
easily in my top 3 of all time
2:45
...and what a fantastic way to start a season.
I'm really impress by the quality of writing and narration of your videos.
to be fair, Kyo-Ani just did what Kyo-Ani does... made something seemingly inane and unimportant into something incredible.
Just finished this anime again after watching it for the first time, that transition from Yui's solo My Love Is A Stapler to their final act in their Senior almost teared me up, ngl.
This anime is just so good, and your video, too. Less words but it delivers. Good job.
Man the animation on K-On is amazing.
That song at the end is just perfect
May I just say, your voice is so calming and I treasure your channel! 🗻 Thank you!
Someone else here already pointed out how that Sansha Sanyou cut *did* actually tell us a decent bit about her character. K-on was a master piece. I am a boy and even i could relate myself to my school days and that made me miss my school even more.
Watching this show as a musician is so different, it really makes you appreciate it far more.
I had forgotten just how great the voice acting is for this show... Loved the video, made me want to watch K-On again.
Let's see if there's any moe hater in denial in the comments...
Sadly yeah, got to block one.
How do you notice these strengths in anime? K-On!'s interactions are so subtle that unless someone pointed them out, I wouldn't think to look for them
That's the brilliance of K-On. There's tons of depth for those who actually give the series the attention it deserves, and more meaningful character development than most shows, but people look past it so easily. Just watch Hitchcock movies, and you'll learn how to notice all that :D
I really like your videos, I will use your analysis in the future when I start doing animation :D
You need more attention. Great video as always!
Waiting for Season 3
One can only hope :(
still waiting :(
I won't give up. They continued Berserk after 20 years...
There are two seperate 4-koma manga that continue the story. KyoAni can make something of that can't they?
It isn't gonna happen...or so says Pony Canyon.
It got a season on manga
Thanks for the amazing quality videos
Great video, my friend. Really appreciate all the work you incorporate in your videos. K-On was an anime that I watched, not expecting anything special. Happy to have been proven wrong about that! Keep it up!
I would just like to say that you have amazing quality in your videos and deserve alot more subscribers. Keep up the quality and Im sure you'll rise to the top! :)
yaaas i was planning on re-watching k-on! thanks dude!
amazing content as always, just love re-watching your videos 😍
I get really emotional from watching this video. Thank you for the great video!
thanks for the video i just finished the anime and watched everything for it and i don't know if you talked about that before but i like how the background sounds is great when they are walking in the school yard you hear the Musical Instruments sounds (i don't know if I write it right) and when they at home you hear the thing in japan that's speak through speaker (sorry i dont know what is it but i know that's in japan) and More i just noticed this and i like it
Animation and acting go hand by hand, not just in anime, but in anything related to animation
WoW i didnt realize so many things while watching the show, this opened my mind
3:22 man that was a good transition
Your videos are insanely good. please them coming.
Love your videos!! They are so poetic AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
I'm so glad to see a video! Keep it up
This anime seems to have more attention to detail than any other production I've seen...
Hi RCAnime, Great Video.
Very good video, i just cant tell how much i love k-on
Is this a late birthday present for Ritsu's birthday?
27 now
Just finished watching the K-On movie... It's beautiful wth. Now I really kinda wanna watch the series
i want season 3 so bad
FIRST and this will be a great video I know it
It really was a great video :D made me appreciate K-On! Even more. Your videos are great, you deserve more subs :)
he sure does , let's create a movement youtube !!
Your channel i truly amazing! It really helps me to know more about anime, so thank you very much for your trouble :)
K-On will always leave a smile on your face.
Thanks for hard work
What strikes me about K-on is how realistic the setting and characters appear to be. I think it is a testament to KyoAni how much effort they put into the series considering how they make their world feel lived in and realistic.
gotta rewatch k-on now... hope you're happy!
it's videos like this that make me really wish I could enjoy k-on instead of just appreciating it from afar
That was a really good video! keep it up!
I got to say, you sir inspire me in an artistic level, I'm being serious too. All the things you say and bring points to really help me mold my thoughts on storytelling, music, drawing and really art in general. holly shit that K-on rap tho!

I am surprised how much I like this one.
Thanks for remembering me K-on, I cried >
Might give this Anime a try.
awesome video essay.
fucken love K-on.
This same aspect is what really hooked me with TMoHS too, must be a KyoAni thing... I love both shows so much, and a ton of other KyoAni stuff too.
Call it "moe trash" still imma carry this show in my heart til I die
Now I love you even more
(Not sure if possible)
I love this goddamn show so much.
Damn now I want to rewatch k on
I’m ready for K-On! season 3
I really love this analysis, this and under the scope's. not overly weeby like digibro's, artful picks for visuals and audio, and peaceful narration. Also k-on so it's 100x better. hope my bump on *shudder* tumblr got you some views.
K-on is top 5 favorite shows
Thank you for introducing me to Mittens. There stuff reminds me a lot of tomppabeats
Can I find it anywhere?
thanks
I love k-on so much and its weird seeing people hate a cute show
2:44 Me: *ugly crying noises*
There's a couple things i don't like about K-On. I think Mio hits Ritsu WAY too much, and the amount of times Yui shows affection, or tries to go overboard, for Azusa, or tries to get her to do stuff for her, which she can clearly do herself, borders on creepy.
RCAnime, how do you get such high-quality, subtitle-free, watermark-less footage of all these shows?
legoC97 I would try nyaa.se. It's an anime torrent site that provides raw footage in HD.
マニカー Thanks! That really helps! Should I worry about viruses or anything?
legoC97 nope, not really! i found that nyaa.se is surprisingly safe somehow.
Damn, watching this makes me want to watch K-On! more out of wanting to see all that subtlety.
Great video. Would be cool if you did this type of thing with Hyouka, too.
Watashi... WATASHI KININARIMASU!!
Mr Leprechaun Stop.
Oreki Houtarou hai :(
Well,I heard Hyouka before but is it worth to watch?
Hirasawa Yui
Of course. Like 200%
Just great
Your pauses doesn't really work as well as Tony's.
they felt really awkward
It's called muting
I am Legit shouting "NOSTALGIA"
I disagree on the Sansha Sanyou cut. I think that portrays a lot about her character. The constant smile, the boisterous movement, the amount of food she's carrying. I think it's a little better than you are giving it credit for.
I don't think the Sansha Sanyou cut is bad by any standard. I do think it doesn't really let us peek into her character consistently throughout the show (we don't ever really go back to that run of her's), which isn't a requirement or should it ever be, but it's nice to see a show have the smallest things reoccur throughout.

By the way, you should do a series of videos just on K-ON! for real though. Just dissect different aspects of the series. I liked this one a lot.
An off-ropic question: Have you seen Tamayura? It'd cool if you made a video about that.
All i see in that scene is "look how good our animation is". It tries too hard imo. All it says about the character is that she's an energetic girl, but with more natural movements we could get that anyways
***** I think you're confusing the purpose of the cut. It is supposed to be overly exuberant and boisterous, as it is. It is taking advantage of the medium of animation to portray the character's personality in an over-the-top manner. It isn't trying to be realistic. Dogakobo has never been very concerned with that in any of their work anyway.
I keep on going to the like button, only to realize I've already clicked it.
More proof K-On! is THE best anime of all time
Yes it is let's talk over some tea
I really, really like the edeting of this video, but i felt that the pauses were dragged out just a little bit too much. Felt like it would have been a lot better with smaller pauses between the words, but longer pauses between the sentences. But still, love it a lot! ;D
The talent of the creators is what the dozens of K-on clones couldn't replicate. Sadly, the insdustry never understands that and tries to replicate countlessly anything that is successful, as if its success lies on the themes, the setting or the premise.
Okay, so in order to avoid what happened with under the scopes review of this show I suggest someone go download and save this video so it can be preserved on the internet! Hopefully pony canyon doth not come after your ass.
1. UTS's review is still up on youtube, it's just americans can't see it because youtube red, or something. 2. He also has a redirect to dailymotion, so it's hardly gone from the internet.
