that beta 1 from huawei is superb, i remember when samsung published the beta 1 of one ui 6 it was terrible like the most horrible beta ive ever seen huawei is just on another level
Apple iOS needs to wait for the full animation to finish so you can press it again to activate the app again, while on HarmonyOS NEXT its all realtime very fluid no waiting. The optimization and coding on Huawei software is on another level its way more advanced than iOS and Andriod.
I never left Huawei even its hard times. Coz I know which is the best. Huawei is moral for every one. No matter how hard they stood up its own knees. If there is some delays and miner issues. But Building whole ecosystem in st few year is really difficult. And they they are doin this.
I know, it's really risky which is the hardest to do in software, creating app ecosystem and they have the luxury of time to build it up, since they now control their own platform 100%, it's a risk worth taking for long term results, gains post-global US OS tech export restrictions.
The main issue won't be the system animations. Will app developers follow up? WhatsApp for android does have smooth animations while chatting but ios has . I know this isn't android but can all their app align with this smooth animations ? Happily typing on my p20 pro. Best phone i have used till date.
Yes, because it's all ArkUI, the native UI framework of the platform that is binding, back and front, everything is rewritten including the graphics stack, ArkGraphics 2D and 3D with OpenGL and Vulkan backends, including the OpenHarmony app framework itself. Programming languages are different, ArkTS, forked flavoured Typescript by Huawei and it's own in-house programming language, Cangjie. I have seen comparison between Android version and HarmonyOS Next apps miles apart difference. The app stack and graphics stack in Android is terrible. Greater control of software by Huawei as well as hardware as well with Kirin
@@livinginharmony360 all this might contribute to it but i think this particular issue (in app animations) are developers fault. Take telegram on android as an example. The chatting are smooth. Chat slides smoothly when sent but WhatsApp on android won't do the same, they just drop. Google Message for android chatting, slides smoothly. The Keyboards, when sliding out on android telegram slides out smoothly but won't for android WhatsApp. Ios are smooth throughout every where. The only keyboard that i have seen slides out smoothly on android WhatsApp is Samsung keyboard.

Up to Google if they stay relevant in the future after HarmonyOS 5/NEXT hits the global market spring 2025 Pura 80 era. However, there is Google and RUclips client apps or turned official apps in the works right now by open source developers and Huawei with future partnerships with Google that keeps in line with Google's own ToC.

And when you say straight up copy of Apple, you are being dishonest at best. Tech companies copy each other, and Huawei won't be the last nor the first.
