    Love your chair but they said it wouldn’t fix me. So tired of being at home with no way around. Can’t push my own wheelchair with arthritis in my arms.
    What a dream you have given me thank you. I will think of your chair when I sleep . thank you.

    Wow I love your vids, I got a segway mini after watching your vid and I loved it, but I need something more stable. I have MS and can't walk well and this looks great! Hopefully I can find one of these to order in the US if price isn't too outrageous. Do you think this can be moded to work without the stick coming up into your lap. Like can you have a smaller stick like on the segway mini that you could just control up to your knees and lean forward, left, right, back guiding the stick?

    Thanks. A very well-thought out video. There are a couple of points I'd make, eg how does it perform on grass and a few examples of coping with kerbs. Also, I imagine that most disabled people would, like me, be using it with a substantial cushion - I presume that wouldn't affect the manoeuvrability? Thanks again - will probably be in touch!

      Yes that was also my concern. In fact the left right feature could possibly be easier (for my sister) than forward back. The other question is can a small off to the side controller possible? Making loading off-loading an immediately do-able option? 1 less thing to do is always good. Looks very cool. Well done. Best ive seen yet

    If you can get this to go up and down curbs AND steps I'm totally sold on the idea. I can't do curbs or stairs in a manual wheelchair. The UK has good access but many interesting countries do not. Have you seen the size of the curbs in Egypt? It's self balancing? I have poor balance so it would need to ensure I don't fall on my face. ;-)

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  7 лет назад +2

      Big curbs are not possible going up, dropping down is ok, although not the most comfortable (air tire pressure dependent). It is completely self balancing yes, so no real learning curve, apart from working out where your centre is.

    So it's apparent that when you put the kickstand from down position to up, the Segway must be powered on. What would happen if the user forgot to power it on first and raised the kickstand? What if the battery was dying and you were a hard of hearing person and couldn't hear the beeping of the alarm? You would need something to be say loud to warn you or vibrating so you could have time to get to safety and park the unit.

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  8 лет назад

      If the user didn't turn the unit on it would fall over. In regards to the low battery, how it informs the user is by limiting the speed / power output to make it very apparent it needs charging.
      Thanks for watching and the comments!

  • @v.e.7236
    @v.e.7236 7 лет назад +2

    I see one fairly major flaw, as shown in the vid, the user was constantly hunched forward. That would not be a comfortable position for anyone over an extended period of time. As a T6 para, I need to lean back ever-so-slightly because I have no trunk control. How would you compensate for that? How does it react to someone with muscle spasms? Doesn't seem safe for a person with balance issues to begin with, which would include a good 50+% of wheelchair users.
    Also, with the price of a ninebot hovering around $800, how much more would your adaptor assembly cost?
    Another high-end toy for those with deep pockets.

    • @Vismis
      @Vismis 5 лет назад

      He could move it where you could be reclined and still be balanced . I know you don't know how counter balance works or how the segway feels so its ok. Someone who moves involuntarily should probably not have one just from common sense....... This is not an expensive toy its a way for handicapped people to have even more maneuverability then they would in a normal chair.

    Nice idea! Some technical issues to work out for handicapped riders. Stability and balance will be a challenge. Try operating the chair without any upper body movement or use of the back/spine. I do hope someone improves on the idea but afraid they will charge many thousands of dollars because it is now considered a piece of medical equipment.

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  8 лет назад

    No point of having a seat when you have to lean forward and backward. Better thing would be adding a throttle, so if u twist it down, it should go forward via using a mechanical part on the foot area of the hoverboard.

      Thanks for the comments and watching! How would you like to see the steering?

    • @wheeldood6130
      @wheeldood6130 8 лет назад

      I would have put the steering made in a way to have it go through the side of the frame so you can easily steer with one hand only. It would make it also easy to get in and out of the seat.

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  8 лет назад

      +Ovie Verner Cool, yeah nice idea. The arc of movement is quite large unfortunately and there is ver little room through the side of the unit. This also would make it wider so navigating through tight spaces would be compromised, it would also require a left and right version (further cost...idea of this unit is that its actually the cheapest on the market), could have a hinged steering bar, but again further cost). Its such a tight space in there that not a lot can fit - I agree with the steering bar needing to be different, but Blumil have tried loads of versions to date with feedback being this one (so far! Doesn't mean it wont change). I was actually wondering if it could have a joystick - controlled through the electrics?!

    • @wheeldood6130
      @wheeldood6130 8 лет назад

      mmm well there is the possibility to actually use the feet to steer. Like a pad when you press left or right and the unit will go left or right.Well I haven't seen the unit yet but I am quite inventive and normally find a way to make things work. Somehow there is always a way to improve. Yes actually there is the possibility of a joystick. All you need to do is check how it is mechanically connected.

    1) You are constantly holding the handle lower than you have made the grips; seems you should lower the length of the handle 2) maybe the very bottom of the handle (at the joint) should be weighted: seems this would help on more severe inclines rather than having to lean too much, and could be used for greater speed control and braking???

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  7 лет назад +1

      As long as its limited to the legal speed limit (possible though the app) and is classified and certified as a medical device - from what we can see its ok to use. Not legal experts though!

    • @skyhooked3a
      @skyhooked3a 7 лет назад

      I also think its a great way for disabled folk to get around and don't see why it wouldn't be allowed on the pavements just like normal wheelchairs and electric mobility scooters are. In which case why cant able bodied folk use segways and EUC's on the pavements. ( Surely it would be classified as "discrimination" if they weren't allowed?) Maybe worth a court case to clarify the whole situation re electric transport?

    This device would, I believe only work for people with good trunk control (and balance?) which is rare among people who need to use wheelchairs. I think you are going to need to adapt it or have more models for extensive sales.
    For disabled folks wishing to adapt their own, basic segways are cheap from China.

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  7 лет назад

      Correct, it works well for all users with waist up mobility. Milosz the designer and engineer is himself disabled and demonstrates use of the unit really well across multiple terrains and also over 1000's of miles. Its not for everyone, but it will suit far more people than we could ever supply, spread the word as there is a solution for some people, who can experience more freedom than they ever could before!

    I'm a wheelchair user. I like the portability of your product, but hate the tiller (steering bar). And I don't like the fact that it doesn't go up curbs. Huge disappointment!

    Круто наживаются за набор трубок на базу и сиденье 3500$ молодцы. А что так дешево вот 10000 в самый раз и конечно тоже стоимость без базы.

    I don’t like who you have to continually lean forward or the chair reverses. That would wear out a person with a bad back.

    Has anyone that bought one of these still able to use it? I'd love to buy a mobility device like this but the Support is so negligent and I'd need them to last at least 5 yrs at this price. I wish someone like Elon would mass produce something for disabled people. Segway used to be the highest standard, but they quit the disabled market when 9bot bought them out. We need a new standard.

    Is it possible for me to ride it with my 30kg weight? =)

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  8 лет назад

      Thanks for watching and the comment! 20kg is the minimum weight limit for the Ninebot. You are on the light side, it depends how much weight you can put forward and backward. An example is - if I sit dead centre and move JUST my arms forward it moves forward, so it doesn't take a lot to get it moving!

    This looks terrefying for a wheelchair user xD Leaning backwards would tip it over.

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  8 лет назад

      Leaning backwards it will go backwards. Leaning forward will allow it to go forward. It will not tip over (Unless its turned off).

    that's great. would be nice for a lot of people to create more mobility . but who can afford $3,650 plus $2,500 alone for the scooter totaling well over 6thousand dollars and then shipping and whatever else goes along with all that. And I don't know for sure but I wonder if a disabled persons insurance would consider that a medical necessity...likely to be considered a luxury item in its market. don't forget that a lot of these people may not simply suffer from " cant walk" . there may be a huge bucket of other medical set backs or otherwise issues that come along with their condition that constantly cost money out of pocket and or insurance. I see the design and its amazing to say the least. in response to other comments , the simplicity in the design additionally contributes to the genius. its fantastic, but I simply do not see 3.5 thousand dollars worth of material. I see a very proud price in the design alone. that total price will keep it just that ..." fantastic " and un obtainable for most. Also I see how one would want to get paid for such an incredible and even ground breaking take on this type of idea .but if you wanna change lives.... make this available to the masses of disabled people whom live on indefinitely maxed out insurance or may not have had an opportunity for what ever reason to make a salary to afford such a thing. I'm not disabled so I can never say that I fully understand that life but I see the potential to make a difficult part of that life easier in this product. i don't know that the hold up is here but maybe find a cheaper way to manufacture in larger quantity...... this should be a MAX $1900-$2000 product. then I could imagine they would sell a hundred time faster than they could make them. I might buy one simply for personal amusement.

      Lower price would be awesome, but with Segways (real ones not the junk ones) sell for £5000+ VAT. The Ninebot came along and revolutionised that market and halved the price. Thats what you see the Blumil on here, meaning the much lower price than previous options. Although Ninebot doing this cheap version meant they ended in a legal battle with Segway...and actually ended up buying Segway! Price as it is, is incredibly cheap for what you are getting. If you go even cheaper than the cheap Ninebot Elite...then you end up with copy cat designs which tend to catch fire, and are no where near as reliable....as they say 'buy cheap buy twice' - applies here. The ali used on the Blumil is 3mm thick, which is pretty substantial. The tooling costs and time invested by the inventor Milosz has been years. Price is less than all viable alternatives out there, and certainly isn't racking in massive profits. I would love it to be £500, but it isnt going to happen - not for something that wont break when you use it a couple of times anyhow.
      Thanks for watching and the comments!

    Wow I couldn't believe the price is so high for this. $9000?!!! The Nino is much cheaper and has way more technical and refinements. But I think the Nino is too slow.

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  4 года назад

      Nino was massively more expensive when we used to do this by about $2000 so if its not longer they must have dropped the price.

      @Wolfsheim23 4 года назад

      @@Speedyfeetuk Actually i was wrong the Nino Robotics is only slightly cheaper but still seems much more modern and refined product. Still sorry to say both these are way outside my pricerange. I don't think even disability insurance helps buy these. I really like them though. Might get a Airwheel A6, or who knows, I may learn to ride an Ewheel since I can stand fine. Can't ride that in airports though =(

    He asked $1800 for this, then I suggested that he adds the handrests and footrest, he did add them but changed the price to $3600!!! Since it's so cheaply made it's hardly worth $1800, it doesn't even come with a cushion.

    • @Speedyfeetuk
      @Speedyfeetuk  8 лет назад +1

      The price is great for the quality of this. I cant agree its made cheaply (e.g. cheap junk), its made extremely well and durable. Hence the newly awarded certification.On all the testing we have done cannot fault it in terms of build quality. I know its evolved over time to what it is today, but looking at the material and products used, tooling and development time its priced about right to cover costs and also enable a sustainable business. Thanks for watching and the comments though, always appreciated.

    There is no way on earth my handicapped wife could even get onboard or of it by her self. She has MS and is equally handicapped over her whole body so she would have a hard time with keeping the balance when entering or getting of it. Much of this cause of the footrest that reach out way to long.
