    2010 is the year I started watching sports which of course was the Blackhawks. I was 7 at that time growing up in the Chicagoland area. Toews and Kane were the first two players I liked which ended up being my two favorite Blackhawks players of all time and made me a huge Blackhawks fan since then. Grew up watching them play great and win three Stanley Cups of the 2010s on television in my room and in the living room along with watching The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network every Friday night after competing my homework, listening to the music of the early 2010s etc. all at the same time! Wow what an amazing childhood I had. It was the greatest. Toews and Kane era was one of the greatest of all time. Hopefully Bedard and Moore would be like them. Can’t wait for a new era to start.

    It was really over after 2016...they lost a ton of pieces and Kane & Toews started to decline because of mileage/age. What made them true superstars is that they were always better when the stage got bigger, which is such a rare quality for an athlete to have. "The regular season is where you make your name, but the postseason is where you make your fame."

      It kind of ended when they were swept by the Preds in the 2017 playoffs; Chicago finished as the No. 1 seed but went out early in shocking fashion....that might've been the first inkling that their run of success had plateaued. The very next season they plummeted. It was a heck of a run, one that brought the Blackhawks back to prominence around the league. I guess they'll just have to start all over again just like they did before Kane & Toews came to Chicago.

    • @PersianSelection
      @PersianSelection Год назад

      @@ckendall67 It happened before that...their last push was against the Blues, which was the last time they looked like contenders. Hawks didn't deserve first place that season (2017), anyone who watches/follows them team closely will attest to that. They won a lot of games but they didn't look dominant and like the old Hawks. The sweep by the Preds only confirmed that but yeah I guess that was the final "stamp."

    The people who blame Kane and Toews for what happened to Beach, let me explain to you that Beach never practiced with the main roster (where Toews and the others was) as he was a Black Ace/Prospect from the Rockford Icehogs who had their own separate practice rink. The bullying Beach experienced happened at the Prospect camps and the Icehogs' practices, neither of which the main Blackhawks roster attended. Jake Dowell was Beach's team captain who failed to stop the bullying. It's even thanks to Toews' leadership that the 2010 Blackhawks were the closest knit team Beach ever played for in large part. Also, not everyone on the 2010 team actually knew what happened during this time as Brent Sopel could not provide any evidence for his initial accusation of "everyone" knowing and he retracted it on both his Twitter and on the Donnie & Dhali podcast shortly after Beach came forward. Beach even liked a tweet in March that commemorated Toews first career hat trick. There is no logic for him to like a tweet from someone who participated in his harassment! And he seems to like him a lot if you take into account his twitter.
    Toews didn't knew what happened until long after Aldrich left. He even said that if he was connected to the situation, he would have reacted differently than Jake dowell as a captain to fixe the situation. All of that was said in the official report, I do not invent things that are not true. This all happened because of the organisation and because of the Rockford Icehogs players not because of the Main Chicago Blackhawks team! People blame players like Toews and Kane for literally no reason. All because some people have speculated things that are not true! Next time, do some research!

    Hard to believe it's been 16 years since both Kane & Toews essentially came into the league at the same time with Chicago. I remember when they both 1st started, the Blackhawks were still struggling but you could tell that, with Kane & Toews up front & Duncan Keith & Brent Seabrook on defense that, will a lil' patience, the Hawks would soon be on the rise. Then came 2010 when they finally won a Cup in Chicago after 49 long years. Then they would win twice more in 2013 & 2015. Their long, patient, rebuild had paid off brilliantly. Now, they pretty much have to start all over just like they did before the Kane-&-Toews era began. That whole core group is gone. Coach Q is gone. The Bowmans are gone too. The Blackhawks aren't back to the days when Bill Wirtz wouldn't permit their home games on TV, thank gawd.....but on the ice, they're in for a couple more grueling years before they're contending again. Maybe...JUST maybe...a certain No. 98 in the CHL might be their new 'savior' if the luck of the draw works in their favor as far as the lottery goes. We shall see.

    Funny their two cups were not really stellar years for kane injury prone and or a shortened season which proves it was more than just kane and Toews.
    Why they often were good was of course a nice blend of players a TEAM effort but Toews was often split up from Kane so he could relish the exploits of playing against second line players. In those same two cup years Toews didn't put up much numbers also injury prone but unlike Kane he was often a solid PLUS in the +/- this mean their second line was dominating other second lines while Kane's line was basically holding it even versus other top lines.
    I only had to mention all of this because Kane and Toews imo get too much credit i doubt they win any cups w/o Duncan Keith who played very physical a lot tougher than people might realize.

    As a Blackhawks fan, I hate hearing how they are the dynamic duo and if it weren't for them we wouldn't have those Cups. That team was a dynasty because they had 6 pillars, not 2. The Edmonton Oilers right now have 2 pillars (that some could argue are better than Kane and Toews were) and you can see they can't do it by themselves. The Hawks were good because Keith and Seabrook had been developing together, they were good because they went out and signed Hossa, they were good because they made a trade for Patrick Sharp who thrived in Chicago. Kane and Toews are elite and HOF but so are McDavid and Leon. You need a team to win the Cup, especially multiple times. If the Hawks magically get Bedard they will have Reichel, Philips and Stauber lined up for the future but they will need more and more pieces to fall into place. Either way it was a fun experience (completely dampened by everything that has since come out and how awful many of them are as people. Not only the Kyle Beach situation but also the Clint Reif one).

      Yep, but they weren't brought into the league and linked together every second every moment like these two. It's always been Kane and Toews, Toews and Kane. Fighting for the Calder. Fighting for the conn smythe, the GWG, the shootout win. It's been the captain and the highlight reel superstar. Out of all the players on the dynasty roster, no one has a bigger legacy in Chicago than Kane, for a reason. No one has a bigger resume in hockey than Toews. They were 100% the best players on that team, and yes we wouldn't have the cups without the other five, but the ones who shone the brightest were 1988. Marketing wise too, there's a huge difference in the number of fans who wear 19/88 and those who wear 2, 4, 7, 10, 81. They were always a pair. Even if you put them in the same bowl as the other five they'll still have their own little bubble. It'll be that way forever.

    Anyone else angry that this video neglected to mention that both Kane and Towes were among the players who played during the da and Al, and most likely knew exactly what happened? Also, for this video to say “the franchise was in shambles before these two appeared” does not look good.

    Something our Preds have never had...bonafide offensive talent. We got a front row seat to this 💩...a Martin Erat turnover in Game 5 of that 2010 series kick-started a dynasty that we would have to clash with in 2015 and finally bury our demon in 2017. Felt so very good and yet it remains...the Preds are the 7th winningest team over the past ten years and the first six all have one thing in common to differ: a Stanley Cup. Such a shame...because we've rarely sucked bad enough to have top five picks in consecutive years.

    Really funny seeing how much the media covers the "hockey culture needs to change" discourse, yet will quickly celebrate 2 players who knew about a teammate's SA and choose to stay silent on it and helped cover it up, simply because they were good at the sport.
    Just goes to show that the biggest crime you can ever commit as an athelete is not being good enough.

      Both Kane and Toews never even attended or knew, and Kyle Beach has no resentment to them at all, even liking Toews and Kane's tweets from way back then. It's clear you are just someone hopping over from Twitter after being given false information. You can keep spreading your garbage that you so hungrily ate, or you can scroll through this comment section to find the comment explaining the entire Kyle Beach 2010 situation. Entirely your call.
      Also, you are clearly from Vancouver with that thinking. Coming from someone who is a fan of the Canucks and lived near. Hope the Canucks suck for years to come because of the management and majority of their fanbase. Only thing I hope is Pettersson leaves next year and finds a team that can give him the consecutive 100 point seasons he could so easily put up.
