Sorry, but I agree with Courtney. Popularity does NOT equate to substance, I'm afraid. Wasn't Jojo Siwa selling out tours in stadiums to kids.... have you heard the lyrical content of that shite. Taylor hardly pushes the envelope either and it often seems like she's recycling the same tired messages (mostly about heartbreak). Let's see if she's relevant in another 10 years. She's selling an image and is simply part of the "pop machine"...she'll fall off the conveyor belt eventually. It's an issue with contemporary music, as a whole... it's lacking soul. Courtney has sure had her fair share of problems, but f**k, she put it straight back into the music, wrote about it, screamed about it and bared her f*ing soul. Unlike Taylor, Courtney was never trying to sell a cheap image of perfection and appeal to the masses. Respect for that.
Aha, and yet Taylor will continue to have everything that you will have in your miserable life.
Taylor ignores all the hate that is done against her, it's as irrelevant to her as how irrelevant some people say she is.

At the very least you would have to take into account that that is what music is about, it is thematic, it is anecdotal, it is sentimental. Any retaliation against the artistic principles that Taylor has exposed throughout his career are evidently negatively delivered judgments, just like a smear campaign against Taylor.

I need more intellectualism than a catchy hook and lyrics, such as "you need to calm down. You're being too loud" and "karma is a cat, purring in my lap" could EVER bring to me 😂 But that's just my opinion.
It's the "girl squad", it's the running through ex-boyfriends and recycling the same lyrical content about breakups, it's the calculated marketing in order to build a brand with "commercial success" as the end goal, it's the flailing her arms about at public events and side-eyeing to check that someone is filming her which screams of narcassism. It's the whole package that is deplorably one-dimensional and boringly stereotypical. That's the point that Courtney was making. It's being done everyday and offers nothing new to elevate, evolve and challenge the minds of her listeners or the younger generation.

I see so many people in the comment section comment how Courtney Love is a “has been”. Well, if that’s the case, the people who she’s referring to will be “has beens” in a few years as well. No one is a “has been”. People get older and there age group fans get older too and move on with them. Of course, she’s considered old to kids born after 1995. They weren’t old enough to know her music just like the Gen Z’s kids will think Taylor Swift and Beyoncé are has beens in 20-30 years from now.

I'm not a Taylor Swift fan nor have i ever listened to her music, but i admire the fact, that she's not overly sexual and doesnt really wear skimpy clothes, she doesn't sing about doing drugs, she hasn't been arrested and no real scandals. So i admire her for that and she's breaking records and she has a huge fan base that loves her. So i definitely applaud her for doing her own thing. Good for her👏👏👏👏

I was literally coming here to say the same thing, if I had to pick which genre and singer I would want my daughter to listen to, Courtney Love or Taylor Swift? I'm picking Taylor Swift! As a swiftie, not everyone has to like Taylor’s music. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Especially for someone who’s mainly interested in a different genre, pop songs could really sound the same. I feel the same way about metal music for an example, but I’d never shade someone for enjoying it.

Yeah, I loved Hole. 'Miss World' is still a favorite of mine in songs. Sucks that the band had to suffer put downs as early women lead bands, like how they had said that some guy came up to them once and said he loved their music, but wanted to know who played their instrumental tracks, like it was some male group behind the scenes doing it, instead of them, like they were.🙄

What? She writes songs about guys she's dated that everybody knows who they are, yet shows no restraint on publicly destroying them with her music, and doesn't care if the press, and then her fans go to their social media's to try and finish the job. She acts like there was only one person in all her relationships, and that it was just all the other several person's fault that it didn't work out. If she had been a girl in a public school, the boys she spouted hate writings about to everyone would make her allowed to be sued for defamation, but I guess because people like the music, and because people are afraid of more retaliation, people turn a blind eye to the constant public humiliation of others from her.
Not to mention that she cheated on one guy she was with, and flew off to a whole other country for awhile so she herself didn't have to face the press or public, then came back hiding her face behind sunglasses, and then wrote more songs to publicly put down the one guy SHE victimized, including the guy she ran off with that tried to comfort her about all the stuff said about her cheating, that was in the press. How does that make her completely innocent, and a great role model? I hate knowing all of that, I myself don't care for her music, but anything about her is everywhere, all the time. And knowing all that and NOT turning a blind eye to it, and how she can't even handle the smallest of jokes put out with her name involved.. I can't help but see her as mostly a hypocrite..

courtney’s album live through this won album of the year back in ‘94...although not as popular as pop stars because popular is literally in the name for those guys, she’s a staple in both 90s music and fashion. she’s been less active in the public recently, but she’s actually come out to do some more art as of late...i believe she played a show with billie joe armstrong of green day and there’s rumors of her recording a new album. she’s on a different field of the music industry...that doesn’t mean she’s not wicked important
