Hello and a good morning to you! I was wondering, is it possible to detach the main column from the base? Maybe newer model has this feature? How duss ships it if it's attached, it seems that it would compromise the precision if droped during shipment process and if main column is not 90 degrees to the base, then you'd need to correct it somewhere else. Maybe it could be adjusted at a duss factory perhaps? Your thoughts? Thank you.
Hello kreksfeks! Its possible to detach it, but at home will be difficult, when you dont have the big press they have in the factory. I actually had a simliar idea and wanted a longer column. They provide them in various lenght and its a service to change them. You can get over a meter if I remembered correctly. But this comes with a disclaimer that when they try to press the column, the base could brake and they dont provide another one for free, so you would eventually have to take the cost for the column and another base if it breaks. I havent got a longer column yet, for me its a bit to risky.
I think this is one of the best Drill Stands ever built, nice work. I have the same. But why did you not paint the same color as the new part for holding the drill has?
I’m hesitating to buy this stand. I don’t doubt it’s quality and precision. I’m wondering how to work with big pieces of wood on such a tiny base. Can you share experience or photos?
Its my favourite drill stand right now. Every part is solid and rigid. Smart and easy functions. Simple design. Butterly smooth and fast to use. I can't garantee but the new ones might be better than a used one. But if you get your hands on an used one, it might be a good deal.
Absolutely hilarious and informative at the same time! Nice sound effects and narration at the beginning of the vid! ;)
Arrr Arrr

Thank you! Yeah uniform colors would be slick. I couldnt wait to work with it, so I took the lazy route.

Thank you, you show the high quality and precision of this drill stand.
Do you know if the new model is the same quality and would you recommend it ?
