      It's one of those things. People see they are always there but don't know much about them.

    Thanks for the narrative, and the music was pretty cool , too !
    Those W class , are how I got to high school between 1970 and 1975 on the old route 88 and 86 !
    Love those old gals ! I actually learnt to drive one, late one Sunday evening, down Bourke St, thanks to a tram driver I was dating at the time ...LoL.
    These days when I visit Melbourne, old age has caught up to me, and I tend to look for low-floor trams which are easier to get on and off !!!

      @@Schony747 Ah, yes, back when our knees worked, men and women wore platform shoes ( except for the Drivers and Connies, who wore sensible black laceups ) 😂....and all sorts of fun could be had on a late night tram ride !😂

    Thanks so much for this video of the tram interiors, including the operator positions. The newest ones I've ever ridden were during a visit to Toronto in the early 2000's (when I skipped out of a statistics conference to ride the trams and look around a car barn). Cheers from Wisconsin!

    This was great, loved the narration which helped explain everything especially since I'm blind so that really helped. Would love to see more vids like this one.

    Hey mate, were you driving on route 109, C1 class 3008 today? I felt like it looked like you lol. Nice video of the depot as well, I was there today.

    • @Schony747
      @Schony747  Год назад +2

      Wasn't me. I haven't driven the 109 for a while.

    Would they ever make Route 57 a low floor route? Especially when you have two quite large events on the route The Melbourne Cup & other racing events at Flemington Racecourse and then also The Royal Melbourne Show and other events at the Showgrounds. Yes I know there's the train. That runs to Flinders street during these time's. There's also a quite large Aging Population in the towers along that route as well around Travancore & Flemington along Racecourse Road.

      Southbank run low floor trams for special events. When the new G class enters service, Essendon will run some of the trams so maybe the 57 may finally get some low floor trams

      Yes and the A class has been running on the route for many years now. Even back as far as 2008 Southbank ran Combino and B2 trams as well

    Yo, do you know mate is there any way to visit Southbank depot as like a tour? Because I’d love to check out the fleet as a visitor at my favourite tram depot??? Let me know if there any way to do it, mate? 😮

    • @Schony747
      @Schony747  Год назад +1

      Depots are pretty well off limits. You could try Yarra Trams to see how you go but I think the answer would be the same and I have no influence over that.

      @@Schony747 oh ok, that’s sad ☹️ 😞 but thanks for the heads up. At least I gave it a shot, I asked Yarra trams via an email and am awaiting a response from them.
