I am so happy , I ordered it this evening , should arrive this week 🎉 (I don’t quite understand how the longevity works with it being android based ?) or updates .. I heard you mention ten years ago.. that’s achievable with this dap ? Thanks in advance !
Thank you and yes, I take your point re. Android. Although if the DAP reaches a point for you where it is usable ‘as is’ then it should last a long time. At least as a DAP, it’s primarily role.
Ended up returning it. A lot of stores didn’t carry it that’s close by my home. The 4.4 jack .. I had to twist it in order for it to work properly a few times and that worried me having to ship it back and forth with insurance.
8 DACs is sometimes referred to as "dual balanced diffential". Yes, as iBasso states, four DACs per channel. I have a Audio-GD DAC with 8 Burr Brown PCM1704 chips.
I just bought and tried out a DX180. The cases seem very similar, so I'll mention here that I find the new design language very much a step in wrong direction. It's very striking to look at, with all the angles and 3D offsets. But, compared to the previous generations (I have a DX240 and used to have a DX170), I find the new DAPs very uncomfortable to hold in my hand. Further, even the visually interesting parts are pretty much hidden if you use a case - which I would think many if not most users will want to do for a device you're constantly carrying around and handling. Much as I REALLY wanted to love the new device, I just find it annoying.
Thank you for the review ❗️ 🔆 So streaming is no problem with 260❓And are there some other DAPs(with streaming in mind) around this price point you would recommend?..Thank you ✌️ 😁
14hrs...when will DAP makers realise that battery life is one of, if not the, most important thing for a mobile device. This day and age, 14hrs just doesn't cut it.
I get your point, but it's not that they couldn't even extend these 14 hours, sure they could, but it's a compromise they had to make. Bigger battery? > Think about size and weight for portability and the huge power output to improve on its ability to hook up also harder to drive headphones and IEMs (1000mW is really good for a DAP). So, these 14 hours are not so bad at all under these aspects, it's not a smartphone with a 100mW 3.5 jack.
@@revan.3994 Moreover, external USB battery packs are cheap and relatively light. So, reducing the weight to 230 odd grams work very well for most situations, and it's simple to add external battery life when necessary.
Given its power output rating, a 14 hour battery life is excellent. Plus, the internal battery is user replaceable. Ibasso can easily get much longer battery life if they significantly reduce the power output.
Now this is the highest detailed informative review I ever watched 😅🎉 Fantastic 🎉
Thanks for the review, I enjoyed it. A good amount of interesting info for those (like me) that probably will buy this DAP.
How does this compare to the dx180 and then also hiby r6 (iii), fiio m23 and shanling m6ultra please
Fun Boy Three!
"Murder She Said" Such a great tune!
Another good one Paul, cheers.

ibasso have good customer support and support legacy devices for years.

how long can I expect to use this DAP being that it's on an unsupported android version?

Sony NW-WM1AM2 vs ibasso 260 ?
how about the streaming ability of this player?

I have one too and want a leather case to soften it out. It's annoying for sure.
Hello ,is there any heating issues?
TIA
No, when I used the iBasso, I never burnt my toast once. Kidding! I'm kidding. No. Never had heating issues with this one.

Hahahahaha thanks for the reply

I have not used the dx260; but the dx240, even so still on Android 11, works well for streaming Tidal, Roon, etc. You could also look at the Hiby RS6.
I’m from Leeds - aye bye gum❤
Btw, you can get your music without it being resampled if you apps with an exclusive mode like usb audio player pro.

14 hrs is actually on the high side for all but the most basic devices.

Well then dont buy it. To me sound quality is way more important.
Another boring player 😢
