My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ RUclips. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of RUclips I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on RUclips won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This RUclips channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different

@@marceltroia9750 Its a Hammond B3. Jon Lord was a master of this and he played it a lot during his time in the band. A good sound example is the intro of the song "Might just take your life" from the Burn album by Deep Purple.

Deep Purple were one of the first heavy metal bands and this was their biggest hit. It's a true story - They were recording in Switzerland and the recording studio burnt down. Local music manager "Funky" Claude Nobs became a hero by rushing into the burning casino next door to rescue people who were sheltering inside. The events in that song took place at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1971. The casino was originally built in 1881, renovated in 1903, and first hosted the festival in 1967. It was rebuilt over four years following the fire in '71, and it's still in operation today.
"Funky Claude" was Claude Nobs, who founded the Montreux Jazz Festival. He had been a firefighter prior to the events in the song, and when he saw some younger concertgoers hiding in the casino, thinking they'd be safe from the flames, he got them out of there, and probably saved their lives. Nobs died in 2013, following a skiing accident.

YESSSSSS you're finally reacting to Deep Purple. I've been waiting so long. Here's some others from them to react to: "Burn" "Hush" "Highway Star" "Space Truckin'" "Lazy" and "Lazy" on their Made in Japan live album.
That live performance is probably one of my favorite live performances of all time. And this is just the top of the iceberg, Deep Purple has so many great songs. Probably in my top 3 bands of all time. So excited to see more reactions from this group from you.

For Your last question, that was John Lord on a Hammond organ. He got that original sound by running it through a Marshall stack amplifier. That sound was so unique and the interplay between John Lord and Ritchie Blackmore on guitar was so much of their sound.

    Hey Rome
If you're curious about what the story is behind this song:
Deep Purple went to the Montreaux music festival in Switzerland, where the Rolling Stones and Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Creation were were performing to record material in a mobile recording studio
The hotel where they were staying at, some idiot fired off a flare gun inside the casino, catching the building on fire, burning the building to the ground and inspiration for the title was the fire in the sky and the "Smoke on the water" was the smoke billowing over the surface of Lake Geneva
One of the promoters, who was nicknamed "Funky Claude"(RIP Funky Claude) kept running in and out of the building in an attempt to evacuate concertgoers
In answer to your question about what instrument you hear at the end, that's a wurlitzer organ that you hear

I'm so happy to see you discovering another of the true essentials! What comes after Deep Purple (don't stop w/Smoke on the Water)? Follow their guitarist, Ritchie Blackmore, to his next band Rainbow -- where we see Dio (you reacted to Holy Diver) as lead singer. I'm sure people you've seen recommendations for Rainbow/Man on the Silver Mountain, and Rainbow/Stargazer. You've almost discovered enough of the 1970s music to understand the roots of heavy metal and 1980s hard rock.

In 1970, Deep Purple were touring Europe on a tour bus. Onboard was a music reporter who asked the boys how they write songs. Without saying a word, Ritchie Blackmore picks up an acoustic guitar and begins strumming a G chord over and over. Ian Gillan improvises lyrics over the top of the guitar. They arrive at the venue. Perfect the new song during sound check. Performed it live that night. That song was Highway Star. It became one of their anthems and it was a display of musical talent that doesn't seem to exist today and the likes of which we'll probably never see again.
I also suggest Rainbow, Dio, Black Sabbath featuring Dio. Especially Heaven And Hell.

That last instrument is a Hammond Organ. Fun fact: Deep Purple's keyboardist, the late Jon Lord, bought a Hammond Organ from Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac fame in 1973 after his original broke down, which he used though out the rest of his playing days with Deep Purple.

James, Smoke On The Water was the song that every rock band performing in every "club" I frequented on Friday & Saturday night "partying" back in the early/mid-70s would be guaranteed to feature as their showcase performance! Smoke On The Water's hard-working guitar riffs expressed the insane drive to just let go and "rock out!" It was so relatable to most of my generation.
I loved watching you being drawn in by the driving energy and emotion of this seminal rock classic! Now imagine being 18-years old and full of testosterone on a Friday-night club scene! Yeah, you KNOW what I'm talking about! Hell yeah!
