The Italian Palpatine was extra dark. That one was my favorite. His voice actually got deeper than the actual actor's when he says "I am the Senate" But the Spanish Mace Windu sounded tougher.
As if the darkness itself is actually talking THROUGH Palpatine. The Italian version is the first I've watched, and I've always loved this detail. I was pretty surprised when I learned English well enough to watch the original and realized that dark tone was just our dubbers having some extra fun :)

The Italian Palpatine was extra dark. That one was my favorite. His voice actually got deeper than the actual actor's when he says "I am the Senate"
But the Spanish Mace Windu sounded tougher.
As if the darkness itself is actually talking THROUGH Palpatine. The Italian version is the first I've watched, and I've always loved this detail. I was pretty surprised when I learned English well enough to watch the original and realized that dark tone was just our dubbers having some extra fun :)

Fred Marble I like the „dark“ voice much more than in the English version. I only speak a little Italian, however I think Windu‘s intonation is strange when he says „non ancora“. For me it sounds too casual. In English it is much more threatening: „Not. Yet.“

In our country is very rare to watch something in original language and subbed, because the majority of people doesn’t know english so well to understand a movie script, and they also don’t feel like read subtitles, so we developed the voice dubbing since the early days of television. We have voice dubbing schools and we dub everything, literally EVERYTHING, from children’s toon to fucking uknown documentaries on weird uknown b series channels... I prefer the original voice acting wheter it is english, japanese or idk... but i avknowledge the fact that we italians put a lot of efforts in voice dubbing, it’s a really important thing to us... or at least we try
