when I started my work life over 25 years ago, my first boss owned a valeting company. he would work with us and sweep floors and clean cars. on a Friday he would wear a suit drive to London and chair a board meeting. lead from the front gents!! great example

I'd say that spending what he spent to buy the jeep on mods is a fair amount to get a nice build completed. 12k for the JK, spend 12K on mods. $3000 on wheels/tires, $4000 on suspension, $3000 on bumpers/armor, $1000 on lights, $1000 on other random shit, maybe some audio upgrades or something.

Jeeps have had rust problems for years. The JK is no different. Add to that the fact this Jeep has probably been in the north with salt exposure in winter and it's actually not that bad from what I have seen on the videos so far. That front drive shaft did look a bit gnarly though. If he plans to keep it he definitely will need to start working on rust control and removal. I doubt he keeps it that long though. If views dip I bet he will dump it since he is all about the view$. Hopefully views will be really good for this project and he will stick with it and do it right.

The rear window and taile gate leak at the corner and that little dip where the bolt sits is always getting wet thats why that bracket is rusted to shit
Corbin maas my 2017 jk with 15,000 miles it has rust on the axles and driveshaft. It’s a normal thing. The frame is actually the most rust free part. It’s just surface rust and won’t hurt shit.

Be a man, ditch the hard top and doors go with only a bikini top until it starts snowing.
Unless you love a noisy windy drive I would advise you not to get a soft top , the sun shrinks them and make it a pain for those years, I would stick with the hard top trust me I’ve owned 3
I've had my soft top for 4 years now and would NEVER go back to a hard top (unless it's winter). The top doesn't shrink, it actually expands.
5 years with the stock soft top no issues with it. It’s no warmer than a hard top, noise is the same, if you have a light bar yes it will be louder due to the wind buffering. The sun doesn’t shrink them it actually makes the top more pliable and easier to stretch, thats why they tell people to leave the soft top sit in the sun before installing it.
Buy a good top and you wont have issues..

I have one on my ‘14 rubicon and like it along with different gearing helps immensely with the extra weight of tires and heavy bumpers and all the other stuff I have on it. Without it it was a dog trying to pass or pullout into traffic. Although my friend was telling me there is a new turbo that’s even better. Not sure who makes it but I’m sure mike you can figure that out.
Sprintex and Edelbrock have better superchargers for the 3.8 and 3.6 Chrysler V6's but however the RIPP supercharger is great for the Jeep's with the 4.0 inline 6 though
Lift kit and exhaust... And don't just take the roof off... Real Jeepers take the doors off too

Buy a D2, they can never offroad as well as a Land Rover. I've out wheeled Jeeps, Ford's, Chevy's that were lifted and had huge mud tires. With simple street Michelins.
