The lack of sacks in the first two games was the tell . Xavier Townsen's exit is symptomatic to this programs underlying illness. We are shedding recruits now. . . all the sudden? Not really. It's been building! Until Gus leaves, this is the status quo!
Last Year in The Swamp KJ was 20/31 255Yards 2 TD 1INT. Rushing 17-92 yards. If he can do that minus the INT we will be OK. Nick is right about being slow.
Last year after the Kansas game we went on the road to Norman, and almost pulled out an upset. I think we can get up again and go into the swamp and pull out another upset. KJ experience in the Swamp should help. Last weeks game was bad, but after watching the highlights again it seemed there was potential in this bad game. I want 11-1 but my minimum is 7-5 and Win the Bowl game to be 8-5 is respectable to me in our second year in BIG 12. . It's a big game you guys are going to be there so is the Locked on Big 12 guy
Gus isn’t going anywhere and yet there is a point when a coach hurts his own team when he fails to delegate. Gus offensive play calling has become head scratching. We need a more balanced offense and a greater focus on speed on our defensive side.
KJ is beginning to remind me of Byron Leftwich. He has imposing size and strength, but he lacks the execution speed to capitalize on those advantages. Where has UCFast gone? We used to be balanced and explosive between the RB, WR, and QB positions. Now we’re average and one dimensional. RJ can’t be our only answer to every question. Again this year - no pass rush, no pass coverage, and no run defense. Pretty disappointing results so far after bringing all these “experienced players” in through the transfer portal. I really hope we can find the next gear at the swamp because if not this season will be a disappointment and a missed opportunity.
The last 2 games UCF passed for 250+. Thats one dimensional? Too many people are using the eye test rather than facts. Turnovers/special teams/scoring near the redzone. These ARE why a team has more yards than another team but loses by 4 touchdowns! So WHY did that breakdown?
Look for Florida to try to go up big early by any means neccessary. Trick play, on side kick, going on 4th. Gators are desperate. They smell blood in the water.

I don’t feel like it’s the personnel, it seems more like the way they’re prepared and coordinated If we can’t have a well coached defense, then the only teams who will be are the ones that do not have it well coached defense, but we happen to outscore

Yeah even in the New Hampshire game at the end their defense stopped us at the red zone, granted it was the back up QB.

We outgained Colorado by like 40 yards. Clearly you are missing the biggest factors in the game and it wasnt all defense.
