Nowadays i just watch the lore/summary of the continuation of the story after kiana story ended.
Same here. I really like every CG they have, but Everlasting Flame is THE most impactful, cuz the whole song is one big reference to all previous ones, which is completely GOD level. Both animation and especially music

I think hoyo is gonna try and bring Earth into HSR anyway, and this is just groundwork for it. I'd rather that than he try and play the game then quit after the first 30 mins. The game requires a time investment a genuine interest and willingness to read which he is kinda known to not have given how much dialogue he skips. I think if he played he would not enjoy it and i think most HI3rd players would rather he not go in, have a shit experience, and talk smack about the game based on less than 10% the game that was content that released in 2016 without trying the parts that came later. Tec did this and its as idiotic as it sounds. Call it gatekeeping or whatever, but if he goes in, he needs to either he goes in, makes the commitment and talk about the game in its entirety, both pros and cons, or he doesnt do it at all. And from his track record so far, trying the first option seems like a really bad idea.

@@wasesa2346 Elysian realm is a separate mode but it is absolutely part of the main story. Chapter 29 continues where it left off so I'd recommend doing it once you complete chapter 28.

man everlasting flames always makes me cry i grew up watching saint seiya and dbz... and man... all her friends in the floor... kiana the only one standing... all of them giving her their powers to kill the bad guy... absolute peak cinema... hi3 has so much of the series i watched as a kid... saint seiya dbz evangelion digimon... hi3 is beautifull
It's always amazing rewatching these and knowing Genshin and HSR just have not been able to recapture these story heights, mostly because of how safe they are with their characters I know they dont want to upset players who like certain characters, but it leads to bland, box standard stories. Part of the reason most people really like Wardance is because Hoolay was a compelling villain and did actually terrible things. It was the most Honkai story we've had so far, though Belebog was pretty close. They shouldn't have removed all the discrimination of the underworld they had before.

Everlasting flames, moon halo. Even just watching the animated short can make you feel for Kiana. But if you play that chapter, you will be an emotional wreck! Definitely the most depressing chapter in hi3.
Fun fact... There is himeko's sword in Herta's space station. But there is only the blade half of the sword.. Bc they recovered half of the sword.. The hilt part which is what kiana used in the end. Meaning it wasnt just a cameo it means herta legit found the actual half of the sword in the imaginary space.
This is why i think HSR is pretty lackluster compared to HI3 Hoyo has a shit ton of money and talent from this Game as their foundation and with Genshin & HSR money they can't even make a game with the HONKAI name be this cinematic just fucking baffles me. Really unfortunate, they even stopped making HI3 animated shorts. If I had to guess, it's probably a case of them being more about money than passion, and the shorts aren't worth it/aren't needed.. Though what I truly find strange is why HSR are making animated shorts, but don't even put them in-game or make the shorts about actual events in the game. Like they are really well made, but I don't watch them because they don't really mean anything to me, whereas god knows how many times I've rewatched every HI3 short 😂
@RaySolus I think part of the issue is they split their team between projects. Like for example ZZZ got most of the animation team so it has god-like animations. Which is heavily needed otherwise it would tbh have pretty bad visuals. However if HSR had it instead, it would be a better game too. Just imagine HSR in-game cutscenes with ZZZ animation quality. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I think ZZZ was a bad idea for the quality of the rest of Hoyos games.

It's always great to come back and watch the animations. I discovered the game in 2018, and I was really impressed by how well-made it was and the amount of love that went into it. It hooked me for a couple of years, I made friends, cried, trained a lot of cadets (which is a mechanic I really loved in the game), but Part 2 didn't really attract me, so I stopped playing to preserve the good memories I had of the game. I'm not sad that it ended, but rather happy that it happened.
Fu hua’s backstory is so cinema. The fact that she endured over 5000 years of suffering. She watched her comrades die, got betrayed by those around her, and was reincarnated like a phoenix time and time again. She was betrayed by Otto too. She tried so hard to suppress the 5000 years of suffering but she eventually snapped and it gave birth to the Herrscher of Sentience. Also, when Kiana broke the seal, she too had to experience all of Fu Hua’s memories to get to her. Fucking cinema.
HI3 is what happens when mihoyo pours their all into something they really love, not like how with their other games they are just in to make money, this game is their passion project and it shows, hopefully they pour this kind of love into the other games aswell
Try to watch symphogear, especially first and second seasons. Mihoyo said they love eva so much and inspired when doing hi3, but imho symphogear season one is practically origin for beginning of hi3, literally copy in many ways.
