When I was a little kid, Colfax was the main drag and had tons of hotels and restaurants. That was in the early 70’s. It was already run down by the 80’s.
Is this satire?? The people who made this video don’t know the area at all, have no idea how to read/pronounce words, & have definitely not actually traveled through the most of Denver. They drove through a few minutes of Denver! 🤦🏻♀️
Before the interstates were built, this was the main highway through the Denver metro area. That is reason for all the old seedy motels - probably built early or middle 20th century. At end of video, just look to your left - Anshultz Medical Campus with the CU Med School and several big hospitals - Children's and UCHealth and VA. This is fairly new. It was an Army base and hospital, but the CU medical school move there and all these hospitals were built just in the last decade.
I am listening to the gentleman in this video speak on Colfax with a degree of ignorance that is unbearable !! Huge turn off for what he might be trying to do with this piece.
glad you liked it. I used to live a few blocks from that gas station you pulled into. Yosemite is the dividing street between both cities. Tons of police activity many nights. One or two blocks north of there is gang banger heaven (bloods and crips). Tons of gang shootings. As long as you weren't looking for problems it was pretty safe. And yes, it is one of the red light districts. Those motels are pretty much trash and dash. Colfax is the longest continuous street in America. Houses where I used to live now go for 400k plus. You should also try Federal Blvd.
You obviously haven't looked around. Colorado women look amazing and so does the state itself. You literally went to the hood of aurora and labeled it as denver.... you aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer and your ol lady is even more dull.
I used to ride the 15 (Colfax Bus) from Colfax and Broadway to Colfax and Peoria and public transportation in Denver is like the Jerry Springer Show as every single stereotype you will find on the bus. I lived in Denver from 1990 to 2007 and have revisited in 2020 and 202/ and it has changed dramatically since I moved to Texas where I now live.
I got my first tattoo on Colfax in Aurora when I was 19 years old. It was a rough section of town, but nothing like now. I was at tech school at Lowry AFB.
Colorado and Denver have a ton of beautiful places to look at. East Colfax is certainly NOT one of them. Unless you where just looking for a seedy part of town. Then you went to the right place.
Thank You For Posting This. I Grew Up In Denver and Aurora Born and Raised. I Live In Seattle Now, But This Video Took Me Right Back at Home without a Plane Ticket. I Used To Walk All Up and Down Colfax. Colfax is one of the longest Streets In America Look It Up! Anyways Thank You PS Most of the Motels on Colfax Is Run Down!
I need to see these 2 to put their voice to a face…😂😂 I live in Bay Area… born and raised in Denver..but to this day I Stay repping Denver and it will always be my home! This ride took me back to them days in the 90s…riding back n forth down Colfax..running those streets getting into trouble as a teenager. My My how Things have changed..so much growth and development. But Colorado Boulevard, Monaco, Quebec, Peoria..Montebello, ParkHill MLK Blvd…Them Denver streets are hard to ever forget about! ❤
Ahhh the neighborhood I grew up in. Gunshots at night, my father robbed in his own garage, Black folk vs Mexican fights in elementary school, and childhood friends turned murderers🥲
The way you talk, you would fit in great in Aurora (East Colfax) but not so well in the other surrounding Metro Denver suburbs (maybe Commerce City though).
You just passed the cheapest motel on Colfax right before you get to Yosemite oh hell no don't go to that motel the Baltimore.. now you hit in the hood once you pass Yosemite no.its a roa ah
Aurora is where the TR3 Astra is parked (underground). You will see amazing things in the air sometimes in Denver. Colfax is still a dangerous place and you didnt get out and check into it I noticed.
At about 4 minutes you entered Aurora and were in Aurora the rest of the video and you ended up near the University of Colorado Anshultz Medical Campus, still in Aurora.
Yeah, you were on East Colfax; the Aurora side of Colfax, so no wonder it all looked so shitty - Aurora in general is a pretty awful town. If you would've kept heading West past Monaco you would've seen a much different Colfax. Colfax used to be a street of vice, with drugs and prostitution running rampant day and night, but that was 15-20 years ago. Now you'll only really encounter that at night, and on certain stretches of the street.
I'm not from CO but my daughter is moving to Denver when she graduates next year to go to Aveda. She's planning to stay at Colab which looks to be on a corner of Culfax. How safe is that area?
That place looks super nice. The store across the street… I wouldn’t let my daughter live next it. People always doing meth and shooting and all kinda shit, ALWAYS. I promise you’ll be sorry if you do. She won’t be safe just walking outside. CoLab is a nice apartment building but area around is bad bad bad.
I grew up as a Colorado native, your pronounced demographics are lacking in a sense that you drove down the longest, recedivistic areas of the state to call it bad. The fact the other cities have been sending illegal immigrants and causing such problems as inflation and language barriers, the gentrification is only near newly developed areas. Even then, the locals will not stand for mockery. I sure don't. 🎉😮😂
I've lived within two blocks of Colfax at several places in Aurora and Denver. Macon street in Aurora - lots of gangs. Willow Street in Denver - just a couple blocks from gas station you pulled into by Yosemite, which is boundary between the two cites. Then on Ogden on Capital Hill and Marion on Capital Hill. I liked Capital Hill, but in Aurora along Colfax is ghetto as anyone can see.
It looked the same in the 70s. Remember, this was the main road through Colorado back in the day. Used to be a lot more foot traffic when I would drive thru there.

And I was appalled
LOL HAHAHA 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I WAS WONDERING THE SOMETHING GUESS IT A DIFFERENCE. HE EAT SOME SALAD WHILE THE OTHER EAT THE WHOLE TRAP LOL
Just the way you pronounced Colorado tells me all I need to know.
Calloredo 😂
Exactly
🤣
Exactly and not all of who live off East Colfax is trashy so you know. I live close to the convince store you turned in so ya..watch your self 😊
Only scumbags live within walking distance of that store
Could live without the corny ass commentary
With your talking crap about Denver you should go back to Alabama.

Wow, these days, East Colfax looks clean and safe compared to downtown Denver.
Look in the mirror before you both call people fat you need Jenny Craig 😂😂😂

worst hoods?????? how about getting off of colfax and driving at night
Reminds me a lot of Los Angeles. A beautiful natural setting but the actual city is kind of hard on the eyes.
This man rolled up 2 blocks from my house at the beginning of the video.

I see the hoods anywhere i go. they are interesting places to me.
Southern life, I lived in Colorado for many years and North Carolina as well and I can assure you people are way way way fatter in the south
Idk if your being sarcastic or serious in the video but it’s entertaining 😅

Why the crap would you go walking in high heels 👠???
To get that 💰
They're working 😂 try driving down east colfax right at dawn. Lots of ladies of the night getting off work coming out of the no tell motels
People can Wear what they want 😜
Good ole' Dayton n' Colfax. I've lived over here like a year. Averaging like 20 stitches a year. Not bad.
Holy crap! It sounds like he kidnapped a 5 year old girl. He sounds so skeevy! 🤮

.. oh ... you'll never understand this street......... MARK.
If you wanna meet some gangs go down one of those streets and sit in the park with your red shirt on
Okayyy he don't know. I worked at DIA for years and my job shirt was Red. Waiting for a bus I had to explain myself quick. Play wit it.

I live here near the end of the 90s very laid back then . I went to Aurora Central High. Love this place
No way Colfax is worse than 7 mile in Detroit. More homeless probably, but I've never felt unsafe on Colfax although I have heard stories.
Detroit better food
Whats wrong with a white tee? N ur i n a bad hood
Lol you guys passed the store that sells tall-t’s. You even filmed it. It’s that store Gen-X. 😂😂😂

Aurora is not Denver. Two different cities.
Drive down there at night, it is totally different.
