Looking forward to seeing the "Walmart" knives fade from the top of the discussions in the knife community. GP Knives has a Spyderco exclusive, Smock in Rex 45 (sold out for now) hoping to get the version without the coating when it comes out. The Manix2 in Rex45 has been my EDC for the past 6 months. The knife has been touched up one time on a Spyderco medium grit ceramic stone. The edge came right back to shaving sharp in under a minute. Thank you for taking the time to make the video! 😎👍
Thats wild that kershaw 8cr did 80 feet on fine edge. Thats actually REALLY impressive considering i expected it to be more along the lines of 40 feet fine edge. Glad to see you are making videos again! The knife world just wasnt the same without you!
I’m glad to see those results! The Shuffle II was my first knife from a reputable brand and also the only knife I’ve had where the steel performance was noticeably shitty even as an average person. I loved the knife otherwise so I may have to pick one up again.
There are talks in-between sharpening community that you should use coarser finishes with low level steels. Could you test something like 40 deg, 80/63 microns(180-200 grit)?
I do have an old Shuffle that's 5 years old or more that I now need to test and see what the difference is.
FYI - Spyderco dropped the Para 3 LW in 15v (Knife Center $153)
They will be hard to get IMO when the run sells out. Great Summer carry knife!

I've been carrying my LW Manix Rex45 for a while now. Very easy to sharpen back when needed.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I have many more coming.

I’ve given away a few shuffles so now im feeling better about it.
Would love to see you test CJRB s90v. Love the videos!!
If I can find one to get in to test I will.
That is pretty nice for that steel !! Thanks for the testing and sharing !!
Interesting result. Looks fairly thin behind the edge for a budget utility knife.
Ive handled a few newer budget kershaws and the hollowgrind ones are civivi levels thin bte
This thing is kinda nice to have a small, sturdy beater. I think I paid like $7 for mine.
Nice 👍
Had one of these in 8cr... Same results
Could you please test the Spyderco CTS micro-melt pd 1 steel?
It's in progress now, next edge I will start testing.
I just bought one of those (that is, it just arrived). It's handy. Very slicey factory edge. My S&W is garbage.
Damn, even bad m390 doesn't do much better than that.

40 degrees, ouch.

I work in a 15 dps coarse finish and see how it compares.
