They’re also both 3x Arnold Classic Champions (in their own respective sports obviously). It’s crazy how similar these guys are in accomplishments, personality, training mentality, etc.
Brian is such an attentive listener. Love it. Meanwhile, Jay makes great points about getting out of the house to train and be part of the lifting community. People don't understand that bodybuilding is craftsmanship.
I love that Jay trained at 2a.m. because I've been doing exactly that for years now. My brother owns the gym and I've been training there since 1981. I used to train nights, but then switched to between 1 and 3 a.m. I love it because I know not many other people do it and that it's hard. I also have the entire gym to myself. I couldn't live without the gym and lifting weight. This was a great talk, men. Thanks for the motivation. Also, Jay was western Mass, I'm eastern Mass. 👍👍👍
My husband is in the gym every morning at 3am. Same as you, it's empty and he can just do his thing. It's great for him mentally and physically. I'm so glad he got back into it!

Just found your podcast and enjoyed it very much! I've followed both of you for a long time. I live in the NE panhandle and I've trained hard in powerlifting since I was 14. I'm 52 now. Went from 135 lbs bodyweight to the 308's and I've moved a lot of weight and helped other young guys get ready for football and such. But here's my little story about you. My wife and I had just got married and we were in DIA waiting for flight to go on honeymoon cruise. I saw you coming from down the way in those flat escalator things. Like a kid at his first circus I'm saying to my wife, hey I think that's Brian Shaw coming.... ya! That's him! I heard he lives in Colorado, that's him! 😁 she's like, who's that? I say, he's the world's strongest man! He's on TV on those shows I watch! Lol. So, just wanted to let you know that I respected your time and privacy and didn't want to come bother you but was an honor to see you and your size in person. As someone that knows what it's like to squat til you puke, then hammer that next lift too. Pleasure seeing you, I have the utmost respect for the accomplishments of you, Jay and do many others. May God continueto bless you! And I look forward to watching your other videos and continuing to be a fan.
I don't know how anyone can listen to these 2 talking about their outlook on fans, and their genuine desire to give back, and not just absolutely LOVE the two of them! Seriously epic competitors and just 2 awesome men!
Thanks, brothers. The great thing about this business is that I feel part of the team, even though we have never met. The camaraderie is great. I am 55, and have been training since 11. NEVER a break. Been injured much of it, but as long as there is a free body part available, you train. 5'8, have been the proverbial nutter in the gym, but arms never bigger than 17.5. but hey, we love the challenge and so I can stand side by side with you guys. Even if only up to Brian's knee caps 😂
This truly is like like being a kid in a candy store. Watching two of my idols sit down and talk about what makes them tick is free advice. Watch and learn 😮
That part about somebody saying the music sucks and him not hearing it reminds me of the times me and my friend would go to Woodward during the off-season so we didn't have to deal with thousands of children skating and riding bikes but the professionals would come into practice and they would always put on crappy music like Britney Spears and my buddy asked them one time why they did that and they said it would help them focus on what they were doing because they hated the music so much that they were forced to tune it out as to not let it drive them crazy and the more they tuned it out the better they would perform in their training
I met Flex at Stan Efferding's seminar at Sin City Iron. I'm a 64yo novice with pretty severe back issues. Dr's told me that I'd never walk unassisted again or be pain-free. They were wrong! It still amazes me that both Flex and Stan would spend time with me, take inspiration and learn from my experiences. Both Flex and Stan are great to be around.
I love your home gym Brian, I would love to have a toy room like that. You guys are power houses. I feel just like you Jay when yor in the gym, its a place in the mind that is very comfortable. Thank you guys for the incouragement.
Because Brian is so strong he has the ability to pack on a huge amount of muscle ,i wish jay would be honest about why they go on last its to keep everyone in the arena all night as mostbarw there for the main event

Jay really needs to drain out the oil from his biceps. I don't know why he feels he still needs to do that. It's always been the reason why he has had zero vascularity in his arms.

Brian has only won the Shaw classic twice

Brian been taking Ls ever since, so doesn't really matter

These two would be perfect for a buddy cop movie. Eddie Hall could be the villian. 😂
I'd watch it:)

Two absolute legends of their sport spitting absolute gold for 30min, awesome
This is my favorite bodybuilding collab you've done!
It's really cool that Jay stays dedicated to lifting to the extent that he does. 💪
Maybe it’s because I’ve had a couple of drinks but this is one of your better podcast’s! Two legends who are just real and not full of themselves
6’2 163 started our 2 months ago at 150 put on 13 pounds the goal is not finished thank you for the motivation!!!!!!

Both really humble men. Never really seen much on jay but he comes off as a good humble person. I’ve always known Brian was.

not my idols though but doesnt, matter i agree its a insane time we live in a time where knowledge is free, and easely accesible whats not to like.
The deep talk is on the highest Jay mentions food: Brian ends it😂 ❤
This will be a good one! Jay Cutler is a legend.
Thank you both for all you give back to those that share the love of your crafts ! Awesome champions! 💪💪
Can't wait for the Strongest Man on Earth 2024!
I train around 2am. That's when I get off work. Im 50, but I don't quite have Jays look yet. I'm just trying to stay alive, with less pain.

Amazing! Although, Derek is a wonderful champion for the sport. Just my opinion. And I really hope he can repeat for several years to come.

I'd love to see Brian with flex wheeler .
Flex Wheeler was my favorite bodybuilder, in my opinion the best bodybuilder to never win the Olympia.
Flex was the perfect most proportioned bodybuilder..

Bryan's socks are bigger than all of me :O

Speaking of traveling to Dubai
It’s weird you can take off at 7 and then land at 7 “the same time” you left your country 😮
How jay do in strong man competition ?
Bottom line when you're a professional, you do professional routines to become a better professional

2 mass monsters
72 hours is three days
Jay's arms are so big they almost look fake
J tells the same story over and over and over
Why does Brain wear his socks like that? The 80's are over...
What? Crew socks are in now. Ankle socks have been out of style for at least two years. You must be over 40

nice
Lol at Jay cutler supposed 700 lb squat. Does he have a video of him doing it? Jay Cutler is a joke.

Great insight
