In case anyone ever wondered what the full story behind that map featured on the Sonic Robo Blast 2 Wiki's page on joke WADs is (wiki.srb2.org/wiki/Joke_WAD), well... Here you go.
Some corrections and omissions: The OLDC suspension mentioned in the video actually started in early 2013 after the Nov/Dec 2012 OLDC. The prior two OLDCs were cancelled outright due to a lack of interest and entries, and all entries submitted for those were carried over into the Nov/Dec 2012 OLDC.
Not gonna lie, making this video brought back tons of bad memories. Reading through the forum thread for voting on the OLDC TEoC was submitted to (Nov/Dec 2011) put me back in the feet of my 17 year old self. He thought that despite being intentionally awful, despite being a blatant joke map, TEoC got an unusually harsh reaction from some people within the community that he considered true jerks. Some of that was due to a lack of understanding that TEoC was, indeed, a joke map. Still, you can say that both this map and I deserved it. That harshness plus the constantly increasing quality standards of SRB2 mapping at the time are why I eventually stopped making custom maps for SRB2. I'll elaborate on that in a future video about a single player SRB2 mod I never finished.
