--------
In this clip, French Montana discussed his career, focusing on collaborations with Max B and the duo's impact on the music scene. Max B was part of Jim Jones's group, Byrd Gang, and reportedly worked on the major 2006 hit "We Fly High." French Montana, following successful freestyle DVD mixes, began gaining traction with the single "Stray Cash." He later joined forces with Max B to create the mixtape "Coke Wave," combining their music with a co-branded DVD. This endeavor took the city by storm. However, this was also the same year that Max B got arrested for murder.
Those Coke Wave mixtapes were legendary
them boys were hungry and that's how we got those masterpieces🔥
imagine being fed classic song after classic song every week. Those were the days.
I'm from Miami Gardens and we was deeeeeep into Coke Wave. We was reppin Coke Wave as jits. Them mixtapes was just so hood, Max and French had a new piece of content literally every day. One of my homies who didn't care to listen to us back then say his biggest regret is him not listening to us when we told him to pay attention to the Coke Wave wave. He has to go back and always say "Damn bruh I wish I was there during that time! Ya'll was right!"
We had a great era my brother 💯

DJ Glad sound like a detective asking all these questions. LOL
French was the first New York rapper that I instantly liked from the first mixtape I used to play every mixtape straight through
Listen to how French says “I don’t know their situation” he’s only saying that because he’s cool with Jim at this point 😂😂. Back in the day, he was right there with Max snapping on Jim
But that shows growth. No point rehashing an old, already squashed beef.

Coke wave is legendary
On the west coast, Mac Dre came out with Treal TV in 2003. That’s what we were on out here. DVDs was the wave back then tho for sure
Yep, Mac Dre and Yuk.
There was no _Coke Wave 3_ mixtape. Vlad should have asked French to name 3 songs from CW3. I guarantee you that he can't.
CW1 and CW2 dropped in 2009, then _Coke Wave 4_ dropped in 2019. They could have just named it something else and it would have been fine but instead they decided to piss on the legacy of the first two. Many of us OG fans who've stayed around legit stopped listening to French Montana's new projects after that. The weak sauce he's been putting out post-2014 or post-2016 we tolerated, but this was the last straw.
French put in no effort on that tape. The flow and the bars were lazy on most tracks, and his autotune was horrendous. Autotune effects can be done well or done wrong, and they went with wrong. The mixtape basically wasted most of those new Max B verses.
CW4 sounded nothing like CW1 and CW2. The originals were boom-bap and G-funk, the new one was mostly Trap. The originals talked about drugs and shootings, but the new one didn't keep that theme, so why even name it _Coke Wave anything_ is anyone's guess?? They skipped over a whole volume and hurt the series' legacy from every angle imaginable, and now French is gaslighting fans over it.
Vlad you talk so much give him a chance to show light to my city MOUNT VERNON ❤🎉
French moving around a lot, might still be hurting from that night with P. Diddy. Happy birthday toooo you 😂
