If it's not gonna cost a kidney, the drop point shootout is quite something to consider
It's Benchmade. It will cost two kidneys.
Why would they make the water line handles blue? That seems like the worst color you could choose for a water series
Blue is one of the least commonly occurring colors in nature.
i am a big fan of benchmade but their prices are leaving orbit at this point i find myself reaching for the new husky utlity knife instead.
Agreed, sigh. I could barely justify $240 for my 4300 CLA (it's incredibly well made with fantastic ergonomics, perfect handle/blade jimping - no regrets); however, now that prices routinely eclipse $400, I'm giving Boker my business - they're comparable quality and cost a small fraction of Benchmade's knives.
Is there a real market of people taking $200+ knives out onto the water?
Don’t most people use cheap knives on the water so it’s not a huge deal if they lose them?
Wouldn’t the smarter thing be to make an economy line of USA water knives to tap into that market?
Don’t expect the price to be affordable or cheap. This will be ridiculously priced.
Legitimate question: have they fixed the failing tab in the Shootout? I had two different models fail multiple times each due to the same tab that holds a spring in place. I’d love to have one, but not until they address that very common failing.
Once again benchmade demands your entire paycheck
I wlays used to mention Spyderco and Benchmade in the same breath.
Now, Spyderco releases models in different colours, but each with a different steel that you know will have the best heat treating and performance on the market, Benchmade just release new colours of the same thing and pretend that people should be excited about it.
(Also there are tests of the Water line that show them rusting pretty badly, and much worse than the same steel from Spyderco).
Benchmade destroys Spyderco in sales and revenue. The axis lock is a mile better than the compression lock especially for lefties.
I have a 200 puukko aka my favorite knife id love to see another puukko style knife from Benchmade something like a mora 510 black or marttiini lynx
I don't really understand knife companies that continually reinvent the wheel…er, knife. Benchmade has produced some exemplary designs over the years, and then discontinued them in favor of weird stuff. The original Benchmade 100RR water knife was just fine, and I'm glad I got one 20 years ago with GIN-1 steel and G10 scales. I'm also really fond of my Benchmade 190 Drop Point Hunter and 192 Bird & Trout knives, and nothing in their current lineup is necessarily any better, just more expensive.
Hey guys the 'links in the description' . . . did not get put in the description, it is just the place holders.
The Benchmade Intersect is cool and all. But, can you please make a larger 3" ~ 3.5" version, Benchmade ?? Thanks!
Not boring, just too expensive!!
Check it out... DCA has hand competition 😂😂
I would definitely buy a drop point Shootout. But im pretty sure it's gonna be like $400.
I must have an Adira.
I don’t like many of the newer models, I did just get a 945 and really like it… after I modded it… I still prefer my old mini griptilian
is this Jon the same Jon that took over benchmade after Les Di Asis passed? I heard it was a close family member that took over.
No, this was not Jon deAsis, although he was present at the show. -DCA
Benchmade is to knives what liberty safes are to safe
You guys already showed the fixed blades, so nothing new from Benchmade.
Why no tactical pieces
BM was my go to brand but they've lost the plot.
Way to expensive for what it is....
The company has gone to crap since the old man passed and Jr took over.
Funny how price points are never mentioned with BM. 😂 Overrated
What has happened to benchmade?
More like “Brokemade” amright?!
✋high five!
😂
They have totally lost it.
Buy a Spyderco instead :)
Let the overpriced "meh" products begin..... Blah blah blah. 🦋 Tax in the days of so much choice..... Not for me.
Why are you watching then?
@@etherealicerWhy not?
@@BaddogBlades Then why complain. It's like watching a "New Spyderco" video and complain that there is nothing new in there.
@@etherealicer it`s called having an opinion, why be concerned /
Clicked on this for respect for Knife Center. Benchmade can just file for bankruptcy. I hope heh heh
The glass breaker alone makes it worth the 🦋price!
Benchmade is boring sorry
Absolutely, Overpriced & Boring.
Right?! Spyderco is having them for lunch! 😂
Well they have cool knives but they are so expensive and every year it gets worse.
@@bryanin602Spyderco isn’t better tbh
Not as boring as the "Benchmade is too expensive crowd". Why are you even watching?
WOM. Waste of money.
Benchmades water series ended up rusting. Complete garbage. Smh.
1st
Spyderco won the Blade Magazine award at Blade Show for "Most Innovative American Design" with their Salt Paramilitary 2🤔 I honestly don't understand how a Paramilitary 2 which is a knife designs that's been around since 2010, with magnacut a blade steel that's been around for almost three years now can win this award🤷♂️ How the hell is it innovative to just change the blade steel on an existing knife design and slightly change the texturing of its handle🤔 So Blade Magazine is telling us that no other American production knife company or American custom knife make made any knife designs that were more innovative than the Spyderco Salt Paramilitary 2🤔 Giving the Spyderco Salt Paramilitary 2 this award is insulting to all American knife makers!!!!!
What are you talking about? They won bc of how corrosion resistance it is. Thats why. Benchmades new water series rusts. Did you know that? Granted Benchmade sucks but the point is making a knife that's fully corrosion resistance is tough. That's why they won. Stop crying.
@KingKsEDC Spyderco's salt series of knives was originally made with H1 because H1 is virtually rust proof👍 Then Spyderco developed H2, which literally can't rust🙏 I don't understand why Spyderco is using magnacut in a salt series knife because magnacut has significantly less corrosion resistance than both H1 and H2 and magnacut can rust. Also, you can't tell me that just simply changing blade steel on a 15 year old knife model is innovative🤨 So the fact that Spyderco won the Blade Magazine award for "Most Innovative American Design" makes no sense!!!!
@KingKsEDC So according to Blade Magazines standards, if next year Benchmade released a G10 version of their Osborne 940 with a magnacut blade and coated hardware, they could easily win the award for "Most Innovative American Design", even though the Benchmade Osborne 940 is an old knife design and was first released way back in the year 2000🤔
Why are people still wasting their time on this greedy ass company? Bunch of overpriced subpar products.
Cue the default Benchmade hate…”even if it’s made out of solid gold, it better not cost more than $50!” 🤣
Benchmade sucks tho.
@@KingKsEDC okay, I’ll bite. Aside from consumers towards the user end of the knife world being spoiled on Chinese OEMs, why exactly does BM suck? I’m seriously asking, because the hate has never made rational sense (not that hate usually makes rational sense).
Benchmade really stepping up the innovation again with a drop point blade... Benchmade sucks...
everyone complaining about price like they don't own thousands of dollars of knives they never use anyways! Weeeeeeeeeeeee!
Lol true
