Amazing! I always thought that this one by Escher is based on an optical illusion like the drawings with the water running upstream. I did not know that this with the staircases can be built in reality and still work. Thus, you have proven this point by building a model in 3 D. I think M.C. Escher would like your work.
I think your creation should be in the Escher museum in the Netherlands. Escher was a genius drawing impossible things that formed in his head. You made that impossible thing into a reality. Beautiful.
Total respect to you for the attention to detail and the immaculate way that you have created this. The accuracy is amazing. I am a modeller and know the painstaking way that you must work. I could never come close to your achievement.
This was quite phenomenal - not only the building of the model but the excellent work in making the video. I can't believe it has just 1,9K views; I've seen real dreck garner 10M views. Go figure.
Thank you So much. . . I couldn't stop smiling as i watched your excellent build.. Your commitment to detail is never ending. I subed after seeing this clip, shared it with a couple mates, who do craft work also. Cheers to steady hands, sharp eyes, great content. Thanks Again.. {Im th 777th like} thats gotta be tripple Lucky.... 🙂🙂🙂
I had always thought this was buildable, but I never thought I'd have the skill - it's great to see someone who clearly has the skill and the patience. This was fantastic.
This is amazing and it makes me remember my father .I turned in a working waterwheel on a mill / history project for 8th grade (1964-65) .....what I was allowed to do was paint at the finish ! My father enjoyed constructing model airplanes (pre WW2) and my projects thru school .This model would have been something to share with him .
@@theavidcreator7356 thank you for noticing me ! My Dad has been gone from us 30 years and you stirred up those memories... .thank you...... imy Dad even built a Gothic cathedral for me to complete a college independent study course.... I got used to expecting him to take over !!! (He always got a very good grade for what I turned in for a grade ) Thank you , I am 70 and have a lot of memories to sift thru .
Awesome attention to detail. This sculpture is a unique work of art. The original drawing has been reproduced a million times, but this three dimensional object will always be one of a kind.
Ok... You've inspired me to finish a project I've been putting off. I have an idea of a wizard's tower based off of Escher's work but I wasn't sure the weird geometry twists would translate well to real 3D. I see now that it is possible. Thanks!
This was very interesting to me as a few years back I made an attempt at building this scene using the Reallusion animation software. I got pretty close but not anywhere near as close as you did here. I wouldn't have thought this could be reproduced in the real world. Totally amazing to me. Kudos on a job well done.
I just found your channel, and instantly subbed! I, as so many others here in the comments, have wondered if this were possible, and you have masterfully done it! I hung on every cut and placement, but then again, I'm weird like that. 🤪 Thank you for a completely engrossing project - I'm sure it was for you to build, and it certainly is for art/architecture geeks to watch. Very well done, sir.
Hey just found this! Really great work! How many hours did this take you? I've been working on a version in Blender to recreate it in color. I also did Waterfall in color and Relativity is by far more simple to create. I saw you mentioned there's some impossible geometry or optical illusion in this one? Curious where...
Hi. I worked on this sporadically over many months, so I'm honestly not sure how many hours it took, and wouldn't hazard a guess. Good luck with your Blender project. The impossible geometry is that you can see the underside of the two arches in the top left, but shouldn't be able to at that angle. It's a small thing though.
Lovely work, but why didn’t you add the people themselves, climbing up the stairs? (I’ve always thought this drawing was the inspiration for the arcane moving staircases at Hogwarts 😃)
Hi. I truly appreciate your request for a commission, but unfortunately I am not doing commissions at the moment. I will certainly let you know if that changes. Thank you.
As we say in Germany: That would have been the dot above the "i" (meaning, that it needs only one little dot to make it perfect).😊 I have just learnt the correct english saying: "That would have been the icing on the cake."🤓
Now what you need is a miniature David Bowie and a peppermint baby.
*I move the stars for no one.*

There is actually one optical illusion in his drawing, but I managed to work around it.
no words , the video , and the art . are beyond words
Homage? Escher would have been mind-blown by this! Terrific!
Mind blowing model creation
Thank you, Ranjan.
Masterful work! I love the thought you put into the little details.
Thank you so much. I am a little obsessed with details!
Absolutely FREAKING amazing to see M. C. Escher come to life ! GREAT work !!!
Congratulations! Great work! Escher would be proud of you!
Simply wonderful and inspiring.
Amazing, everything you build to scale, Amazing !!
Absolutely awesome work. Didn't think Escher's drawing could be physically created. Thank you, and so well done!
Thank you. You're right, this is one of the few that can be realistically created.
Absolutely Amazing work! Thank You for Sharing.

Wow! You did a wonderful job! And I love the tour when you were finished. Very awesome craftsmanship!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your support!
Very nicely done. I had all these posters has a teenager. Seeing it reproduced into a 3D model……awesome.
My Dad was always constructing models and pop open cards.
This is Absolutely Museum Quality Work!
Bravo 🤗💓🚀
I make pop-up books. I never considered that Escher's art could actually be realized. This will be a future project.
(:
Best of luck with the project!
Well Done & Fascinating to Watch!
Craftsmanship IMPRESSIVE!!
THANKS for the VIDEO!

Thank you for your support. It's always nice to hear from a fellow modeller.
Breathtaking, mindbending and heart opening ☝️❤️🌍
This was quite phenomenal - not only the building of the model but the excellent work in making the video. I can't believe it has just 1,9K views; I've seen real dreck garner 10M views. Go figure.
Now, a week later it’s 8500 views, so this must be picking up steam!
Thank you for your support. I'm just glad if some people enjoy the video.

Glad you enjoyed it. And thank you too for the sub. Hope the 777 does bring you luck!
I've wanted to do this ever since I read Douglas Hofstadter's book Gödel - Escher - Bach when I was 15, half a century ago. Very cool!
* Fabulous !! Never dreamed of seeing a 3D model.. THANKS ! !
I had always thought this was buildable, but I never thought I'd have the skill - it's great to see someone who clearly has the skill and the patience. This was fantastic.
I didn't think I had the skill either, to be honest, but I like not knowing if I will succeed. Makes projects more interesting.
WOW ! That's an impressive homage... and not just to Escher.
This is superb! What a great job of building, presenting and documenting.

This is awesome!
Thank you! I’ve always wanted to do this, or see it done!
Wow! Just wow!
So much care & patience.
Outstanding and entertaining to watch it unfold.
Really great well done! Now you have the scale model done I can hardly wait for the full-size version😂
😂 If only I had the space.
And you would probably need a whole bunch more bigger tools!😁
The ideas and craftsmanship are stunning. Well done!
Great homage to Escher, always loved his work, and especially this piece. Brought back a lot of memories, thank you.
Escher was indeed awesome. Glad I could bring him back into people's lives!

Fortunately my father lets me work on projects with him instead of taking over. I think that's were I garnered a lot of my passion for making things.

Perfect model!
Great job. Magnificient.

Thank you for your support. It is appreciated.

Thoroughly impressed🔥
speechless and amazed at your work...this is quite incredible!

I tip my hat to anyone who has given this a go, 3D or real life, as I lost a small part of my sanity trying to figure out the geometry.
Well done, bravo!
impressive work, cool channel - subbed!
I really appreciate the support. Thank you.

underrated

It certainly was an engrossing project, and an enjoyable and frustrating one too. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Accuracy and artistry is astounding. Take good care of your eyes, use a big magnifying glass while you work on tiny objects.
Круто! Фантастика!
Holy hell 😳 this is amazing.... This was an easy subscribe 👍
😀 Thank you for the sub.
Very cool build! Well done!
Outstanding! 🤩❤️
great skills sir

Браво ! великолепная работа !
This is rediclously awesome... 🥰🥰👍
Thank you. I appreciate the support!
Very nice.
Great job. Might you have drawings of the pieces?
I unfortunately don't have drawings of the pieces, as I had to figure out a lot of things as I went along.
I am ENVIOUS! Great job!
Fantastisch !!!
I've been waiting for someone to do this 😮
...And it turned out amazing! That looked like a ton of work, how long did it take you?
This took me about four months, but I only got to work on it in my spare time, so I'm not sure of the actual hours. Many, many hours though.
Excelente trabajo
Well, I really fell down the rabbit hole on this one... but I enjoyed it immensely😅🤣😂.
😂 Glad you enjoyed it.
I knew this was possible......thank you for not letting me try.....lol
My pleasure!
Very interesting
Great work. Is a plastic straight edge to guide a blade a brave move? Not with practice (or handy replacements) it would seem.
A plastic straight edge for cutting is absolutely not a good idea, but I like to live dangerously.
A lot of patience, time, and work went into it. So now what are you supposed do with it?
For me the enjoyment is in the process, but now I have something interesting to put on display in my house.
Incrível!
Do you ever sell any of your works? If so how can I get in touch with you?
Hi David. At the moment I am unfortunately not looking to sell my work. But I really appreciate the interest.
What kind of music is this. What do I search on Spotify?
Hi Luke. The music is from the RUclips library. The video description provides the details of the songs and artists. Hope that helps!
I kept waiting for your hands to grow old and wrinkled, but you finished before you became elderly.
Your comment made me laugh, thank you. These projects do take a long time, but hopefully never that long.

(I’ve always thought this drawing was the inspiration for the arcane moving staircases at Hogwarts 😃)
I considered the people, and actually sculpted a few, but I kind of liked the desolate feel of this version.
Hi, I am very impressed. I am interested in commissioning you to build one of these for me. Can we please have a conversation about that?
Hi. I truly appreciate your request for a commission, but unfortunately I am not doing commissions at the moment. I will certainly let you know if that changes. Thank you.
What is wrong with all you people ? It is still only an optical illusion.
I saw it and I still don't understand the skill level
Astonishing and inspiring. Thank you!
Daunting. Exacting. Devoted. Impressive.
only missing the human figures
