I've flown Delta relatively exclusively for 20 years. United has been really impressing me from afar lately. I'm giving them a go at a long haul in Polaris in a couple months. Excited to see it first hand.
i just went on a flight in one of these planes yesterday, the interior was crazy, it looked super modern and there were even TVs on each seat on the plane which usually is never seen on smaller planes like these
I’m an American Airlines loyalist no more! I’m tremendously impressed with United’s decisions recently, including IFE, gender expression, and innovations with boom and electric flight. All while American devolves into the next spirit! Thank you, United
Recently flew American for the first time since 2019. Completely to agree with you on the spirit thing. It feels like a low cost airline but the tickets are still full price. Recently also flew with air Canada rouge and despite them being low cost, I had a better seat experience and service than with American.
United is doing right by passengers. I think Kirby is doing a great job and really bringing United back to the top. Complete opposite of what’s going on over at American Airlines 👀
Bluetooth access to the in-flight entertainment system, nicer seats in all classes ,stunning interior mean more comfortable flights and hopefully less air rage. Nicely done UAL
Love it, flew from Fort Lauderdale to Cleveland November 21, 2023, and was so loving it. Better Screens and overhead compartments. Love the lighting in interior switching to blue on descent into Cleveland. Makes mood so nice. Only problem was snacks were not good. Pretzels stale. 😢 however I'm over it. 😂❤
Interesting to see a major playing catch-up to JetBlue. Besides the first class seats up front, it's all already offered on JetBlue's 321neo. Except UA has less legroom in coach, and seats on a Max are narrower than a 321. The bluetooth is great, but still no free wifi. Happy to see UA making this effort, as AA tries to emulate Spirit with no screens and legroom.
I love the interior onboard the United Airlines 737max 8. I think they should do this on all the 737-800s, 737-900s,737max 9s 767s, 777s and 787s, airbus A319s and A320s. I also think they should retire the boeing 737-700s, 757-200s and 757-300s.
Is it just me or these economy seats are the same as AA oasis but with IFE screens? Also if anyone knows the brand/model of the seats i'd like to know. :)
Yes they are the Meridian seats from Rockwell Collins. Southwest, JetBlue and AA use them. AA chose less padding and pitch but a device holder and power on their Meridian Seats. Southwest chose no power and smaller armrest but wider seats and more pitch. JetBlue chose less padding but PTV, power, and more legroom
Id like to see more wide body aircraft for US domestic flights. 777, 787, a330 maybe a350. United does use a few 777 and 787 on select domestic flights. It'd be nice to see more.
I took that one to Las Vegas, multiple times in the summer vacations since 2022 when I flew it back to Newark, in that airplane, I watched Finding Nemo while going to Las Vegas on that aircraft which had Finding Nemo.
That's nice. Now just work on the food service or lack thereof. Especially on Hawaii flights with a 5 hr minimum from West Coast. Continental used to serve wonderful lunches from LAX to HNL.
They definitely did a better job with the interior than AA on the MAX-8. I especially like they have an actual bulk head between F and coach and IFE. AA bet wrong on that.

Wouldn't agree with that. They are lifting them to compete in the US market for higher value travelers. European carriers do not have great short haul expercinces. Nor do most Asian carriers. It's all about low costs. The US domestic market is entirely different animal since a vast majority of travel is domestic. UA is looking to differentiate from the low fare carriers to command a revenue premium. They are also looking to match DL's revenue premium. Their hubs are also concentrated in high value markets of SFO, IAH, EWR, ORD, IAD etc.
@@johniii8147 IMO the biggest frustration flying in the US domestically is not being able to fly between capital cities directly. If I was an airline executive , I wouldn’t be putting my hopes to attract market share or lead the market on the MAX.

I think United has recently, in the past 7 months ordered a large amount of narrowbodies both from Airbus and Boeing, and that United is becoming a fan of narrowbodies over widebodies in desicion of their orders. I do not know if this is good or bad, and I guess there's only one way to find out.
