The developer describes the game as a roguelite reimagining of the beloved Orcs Must Die series, combining tower defense strategy with dynamic combat and randomized challenges. Play as a Warmage and protect the rift from relentless waves of orcs using deadly traps, powerful abilities, and creative combos.
Team up with up to three friends in co-op, or tackle the challenge solo in this chaotic blend of action and strategy. Each Warmage features unique abilities and traps, allowing for endless customization and replayability. With free but limited barricades, dynamic buffs and debuffs, and an evolving roguelite system, every run feels fresh and exciting.
First impression, preview, not a review but played for long
Earn skulls to unlock permanent upgrades, new traps, and enhancements as you face increasingly difficult levels and bosses. Whether you’re a veteran of the series or a newcomer, Orcs Must Die: Deathtrap offers hours of strategic fun with a chaotic twist.
Thanks everyone for watching! For more Orcs Must Die Deathrap. The game got a patch! They reduced the amount of skulls you need and increased tha barricades: ruclips.net/video/s4rzZ6t_rdE/видео.html

Played it for a few hours and I think it's the weakest in the series so far. Really to bad because I absolutely love the series overall.
I myself playing the same few maps again and again, which to me feels very repetitive.
Balancing definitely can be improved. I do like it it. So far I like 3 more, however with some balancing improvements and maybe a speed up button or something who knows
doesnt really feel like OMD to me, more risk of rain. such small amounts of orcs on screen at once, and the maps seem too big to be able to use traps effectively like in other titles. level design sucks majorly in this game
In later levels the amount of orcs, and the amount of traps get much much larger, and the level design does work with the reduced amount of barricades. But yes, it's definitly different than before.
Concord Must Die: Deathtrap
Lol, i don't think you can compare an indie tower defense game, with a multimillion dollar live service game.
@@GameJoyExplained I can, Woke characters, furries and diverse females.
Concord didn't die, because of that. I died because a lack of quality.
@@GameJoyExplained I didn’t talk about why it’s dead, just compared the new woke garbage Omdd characters with concord caracters, and since you opened that topic, you mean dragon age veilguard, star wars outlaws, saints row, suicide squad, dustborn, forspoken… all died because of lack of quality?
Yes
Played this for a bit and honestly I wasn't feeling it. I can't even put it into words at the moment but it just didn't spark joy and felt tedious to play.
To bad :( but yes that happens sometimes. I hope yo used gamepass or can stil refund
OMD 2 still goat in my opition, iam 10 hours in and maps already start to feel repetitive, also its grindy af for casual players
Yes 3 for me for sure! They did decrease the grind with the patch this morning.
Good review, thanks for touching on both the negative and positive so quickly too!
Thank you so much! Now let's just hope for that speed up button.
Love it, some really good ideas but the online coop is basically non functional and they should increase the number of barricades to 20
They just pushed a hotfix where they did increase the number.
never add roguelike to a tower defence game
Can work, I like this and tower factory was great to
Strong AI
Dude this game is garbage
No it's not
Its nots garbage at all
They removed the sense of progression that you get from upgrading traps as the waves go on. The upgrade system was moved to a menu in the base that doesn’t change the look of your traps. The gameplay feels flat and I can barely tell any difference after the traps have been maxed out. The trap types also feel like they lack a lot of variety. I am using poison/acid/physics/burning/stun all in one load out and this doesn’t seem fun. A large number of the maps also hyper limit most your load out to just floor and wall traps. This takes away 1/3 of your already limited options that make the map feel like more of an annoyance than fun. The characters are possibly the best part. I think they moved way too many good things to the threads instead of putting them as upgrades for traps. I think they should have let us go as crazy as we wanted with passives and buffs but they took the BALANCED approach instead of making the traps feel busted and then cranking the orcs up. Everything feels SAFE like my mom was on the design team. This is what I ask myself if I think a game is fun or not “do I think my mom would have designed it or did someone with a uncontainable passion and vision make this”. The game has potential but they need to seriously add a LOT more to the traps and let us upgrade them between waves. Right now the traps feel like I am just waiting to get enough coin to just place traps to keep up with the orcs spawning.
Ill pass, no single player campaign. eh, People sayings its not even worth it for solo play.
I think it is you just need to roguelike loop especially since the update from this morning where they increased barricade limit for solo play
@@GameJoyExplained can you explain differently? Not sure you missed a word on there
game has horrible reviewrs on steam.
all the negative reviews are people complaining that you actually have to think instead of spamming barricades to make mazes that take orcs hours to walk through
@@hunter-yb7zk if u were a developer you would make a terrible game if you think people are just complaining
Yes its a complicated one because a lot of it is people just wanting a different game. Which is weird because than why did they buy it at all. Regardless i do think balancing can be better. Luckily they just pushed a hotfix to increase the barricade numbers if you don't play with 4 players.
Which honestly is a weird oversight that you have same number of barricades with 4 players as you have alone
@ exactly, how can they not see that before launching. what was the point of the beta
bro how do u have 700 hours in orc die 3 ...
Because I might be crazy. It's like the game I play when I'm watching stuff on TV. Endless mode in 3 is perfect for that
Its not that hard to have lot time in game u like,i was have around 25.000 in omdu and at least 10.000in omd2 xd
the lighting in this game is insanely ugly. SUPER BLOOM everywhere
Yes, not a big fan of the rain effects and such.
This commentary reeks of ai writing
No no but i did use chat gpt to make it not sound even stupider.
@ lol cool cool … just keep in mind, when using Ai, that is a tool not a crutch. Good luck, my friend.
Personally I’m hoping Frankenstein’s this IP to actually make a game that both as good as 1&2 where and what they potentially could have been… instead of trying to remake it every few years, like omd3 was fun but they just gave up on adding and substance to the game and seeming just said, ‘F it lets make yet another game.’
I donno. I’ll wait until this goes on sale
ooo definitly and i'll keep improving. This was not my best work. I did something stupid. But I'm already much better than I used to be.
Yes, i get your feeling. Personally I'm having fun with this, and especially after the hotfix it did got a lot better. Im pretty sure they keep working on it, but yes so far OMD3 is the best for me.
Thanks for the review. Just bought 4 copies
that is awesome :D have fun.
