    Ooooh! Thanks for the in-depth of how to play. I didn’t look into it cuz I wasn’t participating at the event at where this was going to held at BUT it does sound really fun. Now I don’t have to lose alone. my buddy gonna drop me real quick 😅😅😅

      Buddy Battle, it’s about the teammates we lost along the way, lol!
      But no, it definitely seems interesting! Now gotta wait for One Piece Commander! haha

    Wow! Cannot wait to try this! Are there any combos or effects you think could be particularly nasty for this format?

    • @theotherdecks
      @theotherdecks  Год назад

      personally, been brainstorming a Kaido-Smoker pairing, just cuz Board Wipe Kaido won’t affect Borsalino or Starter Smoker, so you can set up your team nicely.
      I also like Support Sanji, which is flood the board with Characters while still keeping up Don to play counters.

    • @azurah485
      @azurah485 Год назад

      Zoro + King (if both effects work on both player’s turns), Zoro plays Aggro as usual but then King gets double the ability to control board because it basically gets a 2k+ off of zoro ability and king ability (judging that “10 don” applies from either or yourself)

    Recently played this at my house with a group of friends, and we had a blast. The possible teamwork combinations are too fun. We're starting to brainstorm decks to support each other in Buddy Battle.
    I did have a question. Can you use your don on your teammates turn to activate their event counters while being attacked? or vice versa?

    • @theotherdecks
      @theotherdecks  Год назад +1

      that's awesome! as for the counter questionn, I believe you can only use your own don for your own counter events. So you can still protect your teammate, but it has to be your own card.

    • @theotherdecks
      @theotherdecks  Год назад +2

      the player can choose who to attack.
      So if A1 is attacking, they can either opt to attack B1 or B2 (where the teams at A1A2 vs B1B2)

    So I could play 1c buggy, or 3c doffy and rearrange my buddies deck in any order or add an impel down to their hand?

    • @theotherdecks
      @theotherdecks  Год назад

      so, with 1c Buggy, you can target your buddy’s deck to search top 5 cards of their deck and put 1 impel down card that you find to their hand. You wouldn’t be able to search your deck and add the card to your buddy’s hand.
      (as far as my understanding of the rules)

    Nice Video -> but short Question: How does the 10 cost Kuzan works. Works the -5 cost Effect in his and in my Turn?

    • @theotherdecks
      @theotherdecks  Год назад +1

      I believe it will only work on your personal turn.
      There’s a clarification i found in the judge discord:
      “If an effect specifies conditions or costs, it refers to the player using the card (not their partner), unless otherwise indicated.”
      In this case, the keyword “Your Turn” is a condition for the effect.

    does zero leader effect count for ur buddy turn? 1 don plus 1000 for all ur characters?

    • @theotherdecks
      @theotherdecks  Год назад +1

      I believe due to some new rulings, Zoro's ability only works on your actual turn, as the "Your Turn" is the key word and not in the effect's description

    How far does the “you” replaced with either teammates thing go
    For cards like death wink or love love mellow.
    Can they check your teammates hand and have them draw cards?
    Also
    Can searcher cards search your teammates deck.

    • @theotherdecks
      @theotherdecks  Год назад

      so as far as I understand, yeah, you can use a card like love love mellow for their character, and the effect would look at their hand for 3 cards, and they would draw.
      Searcher can also search your teammates deck, but the cards have to meet the requirements (like Pudding needs to find Big Mom Pirates) and it would go to their hand.

      maybe! There's counter mechanics now, yeah? So that would help with the defensive strategy. Otherwise it'd just be blocking for each other.

    • @theotherdecks
      @theotherdecks  Год назад

      to clarify, what do you mean by “not me and my opponent”?
      If you have 8-drop kid on the field and are using the Don x1 effect, I believe both of your opponents have to KO the Kid first before they can target any non-Kid characters.

    • @Tmgworkout
      @Tmgworkout Год назад

      @@theotherdecks yea like the rules say we can’t share effects but if I have 8 drop kid down would that mean that both of my opponents have to attack the rested kid ?

    @sirize9971 Год назад

    I thought you could share some effects, welp there goes my double kaido ramp strat

    • @theotherdecks
      @theotherdecks  Год назад +2

      I think when it says "Can't share effects" it's referring to trading cards from one player's hand to the other. But, if you and your teammate were playing Double Kaido, you should be able to activate Onigashima to ramp your teammate. Like that would be allowed, cuz the "your" you would declare to be your teammate.
      Thing I'd be careful of, if you wanted to use Onigashima like this, then your teammate needs to be using an Animal Kingdom Pirate leader as well. Like, I don't think that you switch who the "your" is referring to in the middle of effect resolution. (But that's just a theory currently, waiting to see if any of the niche scenarios have been cleared up by the devs and the Judge's Discord)

    Does 10 drop kuzan apply on mine and my teamates turns

    • @theotherdecks
      @theotherdecks  Год назад +1

      So, I’ll preface this by saying that this might be one of those niche scenarios they’re trying to figure out. BUT, I will say that it probably doesn’t apply on both yours AND your teammate’s turns. It will probably just apply to one, and you’ll have to declare it when you play it and probably on subsequent turns.
      But, if there’s additional info and clarification, I’ll reply here
