You can plug the valve fx into the amp effects loop and switch off its comp and preamp then you can use your Amp preamp. I'm not sure there is an effect loop into the Vlv fx for the 4 cables. I've done those sounds plugged into the Vlv fx and out into the power Amp section. I sold it a while ago, but I honestly think that the effects are as good if any better as some effects units like the headrush gigboard that I own.

Do you have to four cable to by pass the pre amp so you can use your own amps gain.
