I think I just found my fav. new channel on RUclips. I just started streaming on twitch and it just blew my mind. I never expected it to be that much fun, but something clicked when I tried it for the first time. Apart from that the videos on here are gold as well, can't wait for the next one!
Thnx for sharing this story Justin, nobody can expect so successful company's founders to accept the mistakes of not talking to customers in the first place. This video is a reminder for me not to underestimate niche as it was gaming for your case.
Thank God you guys decided to stick to Twitch and a super huge thanks because of all the joy it brings to both consumers and creators. You guys nailed it, incredible platform! 🙌🏾
Key Lessons: 1. Talk to your customers 2. Working on multiple things at once can be distracting 3. Something that can seems small can grow into a big idea
I believe this channel will become popular, soon. RUclipsrs are piling up in the comment section. Keep up the vibe sir Justin Kan. You are such an encouragement to many of us who are below ordinary people.
Thanks for the shoutout Justin! Those early days at Twitch were some of the most exciting of my life, no question. Loving all the videos, keep 'em coming!
Your channel is a blessing in my life right now to find encouragement, inspiration, and motivation. I was self-employed in a business that I didn't like and maybe because my heart was never in it, I didn't do well in it after nearly 13 years. The pandemic killed the business and forced me to move on, which is something I probably should have done a long time ago. I went back to finish grad school during the lockdown and I'm nearly done with it. Meanwhile, I'm also currently using that time to look around and see what my next move should be. As always, Thank you so much for sharing. you didn't really have to this.
Thank you had a good time on Twitch over last 3 years play 500 to 700 games a year would do more but still got a job. Thanks 4 the many people i have got to know so far.
1:33 - "if something isn't growing on the internet, it's a very bad sign, because... the internet is growing" wickedly true, this should be a gif, can u make it so (add the final words), probably sell the NFT is these days This is very good channel, I love the way it's presented, great content
About tiktok tho, the founder of tiktok greatly attributes the success of tiktok to the timing of when it was created and he said that's also why the other short-video platforms failed because the market was just not ready so I guess you really made the right choice.

Am going to watch these because wow, Getting perspective from someone who has been through the rollercoaster of inventing, growing, succeeding, selling, repeat - so much understanding, so much perspective, 🙏 keep uploading sir.
I dont know I ended up to your channel but i'm really greateful. Love your energy and authenticity. Also your key point on another video really boosted my confidence and makes me want to try ( don't bother thinking about doing it, just do it even if it's bad) I wish they could teach us this in class instead of pushing us toward perfection in academics
Thanks RUclips algorithm for recommending me this channel... Since I'm working and facing many similar things, it's so good to hear tips from someone who tried it all. Thanks for such amazing contents Justine.Tv :D
Thank you for sharing startup insider information from your own experience, Justin! This information will help so many other entrepreneurs! By the way, one of my biggest takeaways in this video is that it is ok to pivot.
How the hell does this video has just 20k views. Hidden gold. Came across it randomly, definitely staying for more. Your road inspires me in many ways cause I'm walking a similar path. Been prototyping apps, websites, games for the last 9 years with various successes but so far nothing hit the "I quit my job" threshold. Watching you talking about things you tried and failed makes me really inspired, and I'm sure many of us can tell the same. Happy to be here at the early stages and honestly I'm making the comment longer with the hope that you can still read it cause o boiii this channel will soon take off 🚀🚀🚀 Keep it up Justin 🕺
Justin Ive been following your stories closely and a key quote you made during this was 'if something isn't growing on the internet its a bad sign......'. Im surrounding myself with tools to enable me to improve my own content for my videos but growth is slower than i'd hoped for. How do you go about breaking out? I believe I provide very high quality, well-edited & natural. Anyways thanks again for the quality stuff. So inspirational
@@OxytocinUN from a short scan you seem like a vlog type channel. Look at popular vlog channels and then their most popular vid - what’s their thumbnail look like. Also, vlogs are hard to get noticed for now adays unless you’re doing crazy interesting stuff, so I recommend getting more central in terms of the theme of your channel so it’s clearer what you’re about.
@@kylerodgers3608 that’s great feedback. It’s very travel based as I came to Paris from New Zealand over the past 3 months. I will add a banner so it creates a more clear theme. Also I have a playlist that shows it’s travel vlog based.
Wow Justin, your channel popped up for me at exactly the right time, I’m trying to get an idea off the ground. You’ve given me some good insight. I believe, I have something that could change the world for the better. Something for the people by the people. I need to find out how to gather a team. A technical team to help build that dream. that is the challenge. Have you made a video or podcast about getting a project started? Maybe you can link it for me. Thanks so much for your insight so far.👏🏽
Great content. Love the channel. Justin, I wonder how important having cofounders or partners is to succeed in startups. It sounds like a must? Can’t wait to hear more of your story.
Love your channel mate!! Any tips for a young 21 year old who wants to have his own business in future? Hope you can answer my question. Have a nice one!!!
Great content, would love even more details from inside of a startup, maybe some comments on other entertainment platforms. Also thanks for the lessons at the end, nice perspective and summ up. In case of talking to customers, you should have streamed the “inside of company”, or maybe some ideas from meetings with live feedback 😅
Justin, this is a really interesting channel because you are telling stories of one of the most successful internet companies, :). I gave you a thumbs up :). And, I subbed too.
So weird story in my art school undergrad we looked at Justin TV in a new media history class which inspired me to do computational art now doing an MFA in that doing art in c++ , Java and JS.
In retrospect, streaming games just makes so much sense. For me as a kid, watching my siblings play video games was my favorite thing to do. I enjoyed it more than playing myself and often still do. Glad you were able to figure out how to turn that into the success that Twitch is today! GG
Hey Justin, what is your experience on investing in smaller start up businesses? And would you ever invest in a taiyaki business I'm developing in Dallas TX?
Hi Justin, just discovered your channel, I’m spending a lot of time thinking about an idea but can never seem to think of anything, so I am wondering how you came up with Justin TV?
Love the thought about it not being a good thing if you're not growing on the Internet bc the Internet is constantly growing. You had mentioned mentors. Did you have the same mentors from the beginning or did they evolve as you evolved? What are your thoughts about mentors and advisory support in general? Thank you - Tuan
I wonder how Michael feels/felt about being stuck with Social am even as Twitch was taking off 😂 I've heard him talk and he doesn't seem salty, but man that's a big double whammy right there.
Honestly I think theres still opportunity to compete with TikTok, theres a lot of laws and regulations working against TikTok that a company based in the US could take significant advantage of and the market share is significant enough to have multiple players in the industry.
Hey Justin love the vids but you really gotta upload video versions of the Quest podcast it's 10x more enjoyable when you can see people speaking as well

That said, you may have also retained talent that weren't as motivated by pure risk as the founders. Likewise, if you had a vote to keep one and kill the other, maybe there was a 30% chance you chose social cam and you'd be gone now.
Hey Justin. I'll be in Mountainview in a few weeks working at el camino hospital. Can we meet up? I'll take you to this bomb Chinese food. How do we connect?
Would not be surprised to see this channel hit 1 million subs this year - incredible insights & a look into the technology world 👏
