1999 I worked at a movie theatre when I was a kid 16 yo and was talking to the security guard there. I commented on the cool Porsche in the parking lot and the security guard said that it was his car. He told me he sold his factory and businesses, retired with millions, travelled the world, bought the coolest shit and then got bored. He enjoyed working a regular job and talking to people like me instead of sitting in his big mansion bored. And yes it was his car he let me sit in it and turn it on

If someone’s rich, it’s safe to assume that their quality of life becomes higher, and so does the quality of food and water. Kirkland is the cheapest consumer water brand out there and their water is purified, not spring water. Yes, I chose to make the assumption that this guy, who is nearly a billionaire, is still humble enough to drink purified water - which can come from straight ground water seeping through concrete, disinfected, filtered and bottled - and does not care about judgement from viewers. Same reason why Warren Buffet used to drive his old caddy, because he is humble. Do ya get it now? If you understand the lifestyle of multimillionaires, most will probably revolt at the option of Kirkland water - or an old used car (still runs and drives, right?. Did similar things: bought new G63 2020 (gwagon), bought two investment villas in Tulum (they make money), now I’m selling the gwagon at 50k profit and buying more rental villas. I’ll probably do more angel investments and that’s about it. More travel. Will never fly economy again but using points you don’t need to. The only thing that changed is pre-exit I would never spend more than $200 on shoes. Now I buy $1000 shoes but still wear $25 tshirts. Lol. Nothing really changes. You’re the same same person with same problems and same challenges just life gets less stressful. I think we need a certain amount of “healthy stress” to be happy. A life without any friction actually sucks.

It actually makes them more ordinary because they don’t stand out at least for everyday casual clothing. It’s easier to blend in rather than place a target on your back like “Hey, I’m rich, steal here”.

If i had the cash - i'd get a used Mac and spend the rest on registration fees to sign-up as an Apple iOS Dev so i can upload my "one of a kind" SaaS" Apps to the Apple AppStore - then if i still had $ left; i'd spend the rest on buying ingredients from my closed down restaurant so i can continue my weekly "feed a random family" routine.
