    With the S22 FE cancelled, I really don't know what I could upgrade to, and unfortunately my battery is finally on its last leg now. Thank you for this video, I think instead of buying a new phone, I'll just replace the battery on my OP6. It's actually quite easy compared to most recent phones it seems. Plus, my OP6 is still running great on Android 10, so the investment should be worth it.

      @@EricWitrigs I am trying to replace the battery now, but it seems that no matter how much heat I use (I was basically burning my hands on the entire phone now), the glue just won't budge. In the video from iDoc Europe EN, I can see that the back cover is magically lifted after applying heat... making it very easy to slide a tool in. but on my phone, I am pulling using a suction cup, but still can't get a gap even for super thin prying tools... I don't know what to do anymore... do I need to pull on the cover harder? I don't know how worried I should be about it suddenly coming loose and breaking the glass...

      you should give LineageOS a try, its really easy to upgrade to (was my first time flashing a custom ROM) and mine runs soo good on Android 13 now
      granted PayPal App and Google Wallet dont not work but my banking app (DKB, Germany) and its TAN app do. So make sure everything you need runs
      but android 13 (LineageOS 20) is very nice

    You should have mentioned that during the cleanup of the sticky band, you should be VERY careful not to push down the cover or the camera lens will separate from the back, which can't be fixed. It happened to me unfortunately.

    • @actitud
      @actitud 2 года назад +15

      @@marshall_nl9204 Sure. The back cover of the phone has the camera lens which, like most lenses nowadays, is 2 millimeters out the surface of the cover. A step in this process tells you to remove sticky residue from inside the cover. To do that, you have to put the back cover facing up on the table. IF you push it too hard, the lens will detach from the back cover and won't look good once you put it back on. To prevent it, you can have a dip or a hole (sized to the size of the lens) on a wooden board or somethin so when you push the back cover, that won't put pressure in the lens. Hope the explanation helps.

    Heat gun or a HOT hair dryer is absolutely required. A thin metal spudger is up to the task once the first corner insertion is made - which is far and away the hardest part of all of this.

    The hardest part is to remove the back cover. I managed to open it with hair dryer 4 min pointed at the bottom. This heats up the bottom and sides, but not the top. I opened it at the sim card slot and went down, and to the other side. Now heat the top for 3 min, so the top corners don't shatter like mine. Good luck.

    My one plus 6 dies under 1 minute when charger is removed even if battery is at 100%. To switch on ,again I need to connect the charger and the battery percentage sometimes shows 100% but still after disconnecting the charger it gets switched off suddenly. While showing it to One plus service team they just gave my phone back after reformatting the phone saying I need to change the phone since the problem is not resolved and will require motherboard replacement which will cost more than a new phone. I am not sure if this is motherboard related problem or just a battery problem. Phone is 5 year old and never done a battery replacement. Has anybody faced this issue with one plus 6 phone?

    I replaced my battery on a oneplus 6 and now the battery percentage is glitchy. When i fully charge the phone to 100%, after an hour it drops to 1% and then stays there for the rest of the day. Sometimes when i reboot, the percentage changes to 1% or 100% too.
    Anyone has any ideas why or how to fix it?

      You'll need to calibrate your battery. Google will help you with this.
      Generally just completely drain your battery to 0% to let it die. Plug it into the charger without turning it on. Let it charge to 100%. Then turn the phone on. Make sure it says you have 100%.
