- GXO Strategies Director Cameron Milner has slammed Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his renewable plan.
“Labors got a challenge, both Peter Dutton and Anthony Albanese have a plan to be net zero by 2050,” Mr Milner told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“Anthony Albanese’s plan is massive cost of transition, huge smashing power bills … or proven reliable technology the rest of the world uses with nuclear power, that’s Peter Dutton’s plan.”

For a start, nuclear power won’t involve destruction of farm land and rain forests, nor the wholesale destruction of animal habitats. Soon we’ll have 12 story windmills in once beautiful bays.
Nuclear is poisoning the planet with waste that will never be safe, 10,000 years it will be causing cancers, infertility and eventual extinction of humanity. That’s not a high price to pay because it will be all future generations paying it not you.
Nor will it have indigenous groups up in arms about all these turbines and solar panels being built on their land, just gives them another excuse to put their hands out demanding more money which of course Albo loves doing

From an engineering point of view, Dutton's plan can work, but Albowen's is missing a feasible way to store energy for when the sun and wind stop cooperating.

Also to be considered is the future cost of renew of each of the said Wind Turbine and Solar Panel - because they have a USED BY DATE! Especially of great concern is Bowen planned OFFSHORE Wind Turbines subject to renewing sooner than land based due to SALT WATER CORRISION! Whereas NUCLEAR is CONSTANT POWER for all Australians with minor ongoing maintenance! The TRANSMISSION LINES already exist for NUCLEAR if each plant is built on the same site of previous power stations. Albo and Bowen have NOT been TRUTHFUL in the LABOR Government's COSTING of their pipedream RENEWABLE ENERGY. What about our Australian Farmers having their lands confiscated or transmission lines crisscrossing their lands! LOL, there is no example anywhere in the world where renewables lead to lower energy costs. It's all an expensive disaster that needs massive fossil fuel backup. Not to mention the massive environmental impact on pristine sites.
Renewables cost more to build and even more to recycle. Sometimes they need replacement every 2 years. Not to mention the destruction of the environment and the fact that they sometimes generate no energy at all.

Come on, if South Africa could have nuclear power in 1984 (Koeberg nuclear power station) why can’t we. We will be having nuclear powered submarines and may just as well have it for the power grid. Renewables by itself will not be a stand alone power source. I’m on a solar + battery storage off grid property and with 6 consecutive rainy and cloudy days I had to flip the switch to my trusty diesel generator.

Renewables future continues to be flawed without a Gas reserve policy & manufacturing companies leaving Australia due to higher prices in gas & electricity.
Many start-up ventures have to leave Australia because of high energy costs and they typically go to USA. The energy costs from renewables is high due to the taxpayer funded incentives handed out freely. With the reduced entrepreneurial and venture activity in Australia the government of the day has chosen to use high immigration numbers as an industry, it generates income. However it also creates competition for accommodation and housing and so housing costs have risen , then job opportunities are falling. It's a mess . Over time the seven proposed nuclear power plants will lower the cost of energy and keep entrepreneurs in Australia. Low density energy generation requires allota copper and there isn't all that much copper on the planet if you consider that the aspiration is to have a wide adoption of EVs with each EV requiriy at least 70 kilorams of copper.

Nuke power is fine but it will take too many years to develop i would build new low co2 coal stations in the Latrobe valley as there's already a coal supply , then build one new nuke plant as a test run and keep on with solar farms battery storage . Australia cant wait 20 years for these nuke powerplants to come on line the skills shortage to build them is a problem . 20 to 30 years behind .

The other 32 countries built them decades ago. Why didnt LNP start building them when they were in power for 10 years? Answer is that these days Nuclear is expensive compared to renewables now. Renewables wasnt around when the 32 countries built their Nuclear.

The answer is that there is a law banning anything nuclear in this country. 10 years ago one wasn't needed, now power bills have gone through the roof, we need nuclear energy to lower our power prices.
