I effing hate this game. I'm glad he's having to suffer through it. I made it to the end many many times thinking ok I'll go all the way back through it again and then just couldn't stomach it.
How did the game no consider any of that a hit? He clearly jumped right through one of the ice sickles and i swear he hit one of the flying demons dudes. Maybe Japanese has a different hit box?
I had this game when I was 4 , used to put it in and the farthest I got was the the end of the first level , I was 8 by the time I could do that haha , such a hard game
Okay, I'm subbed just for this speed run. I watch Jame & Mike play it terribly on repeat to the point I want to play it just to get good. Can't wait to watch future runs from ya, summoning salt videos made me a fan.
Correction: 10:24 when you have a partial amount, a decimal is used. (Periods are used at the end of sentences, but decimals denote an equivalent of a fractional amount) For example: when the unit of measure is dollars ($), the cents portion is separated from the dollar amount by a decimal because cents (#/100) are fractional portion a dollar. But when the UNIT IS A MAJOR (thousands, millions, billions, etc.) increment, a decimal is/can be used to denote a fragment of that denomination (3.4 million => 3,400,000 are equally correct in representation and value) (period.) Your knowledge of game mechanics is exceptional and commendable. I never lost armor, but my times will not be as close as these segments you have displayed in this video. Well done. Your emotional outburst is a bit much... but if this was a record and still is unbeaten... then you do you. Kudos!😅
About the CRT being dangerous: Its literally a car ignition coil that's in there. You can jerry rig a discharging thingy with a flat screwdriver and a wire. Its nothing once you see someone do it once. After that its just a vaccum sealed photon bulb with magnetic guiding rings and a motherboard.
I would like to thank you to motivate me to finish this game. As if I use a replay to change instantly my gaming style. I'm so happy to finish this game more than ten years after. 😊. Not so fast but with so much pleasure.
played this in the late 90s. it took me more than 4 hours to reach the "end boss" which turned out to be not the end boss. it threw me back to the first level asking me to gather something and i just gave up.
Today i have finished it with my friend together while drinking beers ,we felt so proud beating it. Knowing all the spots to get the chests with the jumping spots is key :)
This game haunted me as a kid because I could never get past the 3rd level. I ended up giving my Super Nintendo away and didn't get another one until I was an adult and I specifically went and looked for this game so I could try it again. It took me a while but I beat it and now I can die happy 😊
I consider myself good at this game, but DAYUM! This is so good, it looks like a tool assisted speed run! Lol I used to watch this guy on Twitch when I had it....Very fun to watch Jay Cee play SG&G
i actually had an alt ending. mine said i had to find the bracelet.. i killed the green king with a bow and arrow. maybe because i didn’t get the blast super power in the end? i am playing on the snes nintendo switch system (idk if that makes a difference :/)
When you beat the game the first time, the game's like "hey you didn't really beat the game, ha!" because this game is the hardest and trolliest game of all time.
It's the super famicom cartridge. The type of rom doesn't change anything, you have to strategize for lag reduction. Reduce sprites, kill extra things as you go, break the shield when in gold armor, avoid using extra magic charges, etc. and your game will lag less.
I understand to some extent that Ghouls'n'Ghost would inflict a second run to the player since the game is pretty short. But Super Ghouls'n'Ghost is actually twice as long so the second run sounds more like pure sadism from the devs imho.
You're absolutely right, although in a strange way I like what the lag does to the game. I like how it slows down when it gets more crowded so you can make better decisions, and I like how it adds a sort of balancing act dynamic to the speedrun, trying to reduce the most lag while keeping the maximum pace. The genesis run is a lot of fun too. It runs so well, so it doesn't have that same dynamic, but it does have plenty of others, and it's only half the length due to the design and the speed, which can be a breath of fresh air.
I use sd2snes. It's a special cartridge that'll hook up your snes to your PC and practice with save states, until you're ready to put the original cart back in and do full runs without saves.
Oh yeah, it could go a lot more. This run's first loop alone was ten seconds slower than my previous run. And it could go another 10-15 seconds in the 2nd loop if I ever come back and decide to bring out some dangerous big boy strats.
By watching your speed run I got to finally see the further levels of the game. I never got that far when I was younger. Incredible.
I effing hate this game. I'm glad he's having to suffer through it. I made it to the end many many times thinking ok I'll go all the way back through it again and then just couldn't stomach it.
I did it finally the feeling of happiness u get is extraordinary
Haha can relate
@@RighteousMahoney-l9k I could not imagine being faced with that. It was enough time and effort getting through the Castlevania games one time.
@@ericwood3709 man I still hate this game to this day. I won't ever play it again.
Princess Prin Prin:
“Arthur! Save me!”
Arthur:
“Kay I’ll be there in 32 minutes”
Arthur's rescue commissions: he'll be there in 32 minutes or less, if not it's free
She paid for Express Shipping.
Damn dude the amount of skill required for this
Bro's so casual and relaxed about it too. Literally just sitting there having a conversations while dodging 15 things on the screen at once. 💀
As a kid I felt so good when I finally beat it only to realize you had to do it again to get real end. I felt so defeated lol.
12:46 just insane. And the fact that your having a conversation with the viewers while playing is just crazy
The guy is a mad speedrunning prodigy.
How did the game no consider any of that a hit? He clearly jumped right through one of the ice sickles and i swear he hit one of the flying demons dudes. Maybe Japanese has a different hit box?
Holy shit, I remember watching you 7 years ago. Can't believe you still exist. Awesome!
I remember you too. Good old LP days :)
This makes Dark Souls look like a gen 6 pokemon game
Maybe not Dark Souls 3 but yeah.
Good analogy! Lmao
Amazing WR run and very well deserved! Congratulations Jay_Cee 🍾
I had this game when I was 4 , used to put it in and the farthest I got was the the end of the first level , I was 8 by the time I could do that haha , such a hard game
Awesome run bro! It really makes me happy that retro gaming is alive and well! These games deserve to be kept alive forever!

AWESOME JOB, MAN!!!!! YOU HAD THE EYE OF THE TIGER WHEN YOU SAW SARDIUS AND INSTANTLY SHOOK THE ENTIRE EARTH.
I can’t even get past the first level without dying and this dude...

congrats. i just picking up this game and still stuck on the first level. this is unbelievable!!!!
I watched this on the toilet and it helped squeeze out some extra bricks 🧱 thank you
One of my absolute favorite SNES games. Amazing gameplay! 🖖😀
Amazing, great job, my man!
Nice one JC, been watching for last few months, great to see you got the WR. Had a go at this myself and it's super tough
I'll never get over how the jumping and landing noises sound like a typewriter to me.
Btw that worm kill on stage III was genious dude
Congratulations, JC!
Other than the capacitors leaking (they can be replaced / "re-capped"), CRTs last a while. Only the older ones hold a death charge.
“This is one of the hardest games ever!”
Jay Cee: right, right…
You played this thing the all life to do it! Today i waste my all day to beat this game. And i died every stage
JC you are so wholesome. Also your skills in this game are reeedickulous.
Congratulation!
I remember when I play this game in 1990, I don't remember the exact year launched this game, but is very high level difficult.
1991
this game is so hard! You rock it
Why is it stressful to even watch this run?
I would like to thank you to motivate me to finish this game. As if I use a replay to change instantly my gaming style. I'm so happy to finish this game more than ten years after. 😊. Not so fast but with so much pleasure.
LOL @ the names of the time stamps. "and these fucknuts" hahahahhaha
The amount of times I've played this game when I was younger I've always wondered why the bird boss at the end of the first stage is wearing pants
Epic! Just beat this for the first time, so hard but so fun.
Bro you are a beast at this game and just a beast in general
played this in the late 90s. it took me more than 4 hours to reach the "end boss" which turned out to be not the end boss. it threw me back to the first level asking me to gather something and i just gave up.
i love the regular casual humming along with the tunes =)
Snow tune is the best one from this game imo
the casual excitement XD
This was dark souls for the Super Nintendo days you’re an absolute beast!
James Rolfe would be proud
I tried to pull the back off a CRT. It shocked me...that is all I will say about that.
Impressive run, gg ! You deserved it :D
There a reason to playing without a shield? Does it save frames movement-wise?
Yeah. It's an extra sprite that makes the game lag more.
Today i have finished it with my friend together while drinking beers ,we felt so proud beating it.
Knowing all the spots to get the chests with the jumping spots is key :)

My watching your speed run I was able to see past the tsunami part in the first level.. never got any further than that lol
not quite sure if its the singing, or the speed runs that got me hooked at looking at his other runs. anyways subbed, liked and shared.
nice work! JC will be the king of past WRs of many great games! A SM WR would be insane.
I love how he sings! Plus he plays like a boss!
Demons crest best ever
great work JC. tough grind but you got it dude.
Is that controller holding style typical for speedrunners?
Same qüestion here
Probably not. It's my personal preference due to the way we mash shoot with two buttons in this game.
It's pretty hard to get the triple-dagger timing without having access to both fire buttons.
I consider myself good at this game, but DAYUM! This is so good, it looks like a tool assisted speed run! Lol
I used to watch this guy on Twitch when I had it....Very fun to watch Jay Cee play SG&G
I beat this game several times when I was younger, very hard game. Not souls level, but up there
I'm watching this video for the first time and I gatta say you're very good at this game ghoul's n Ghosts
Parabéns Man! Zerei hoje, jogão!
well played nappa

This game looks so beautiful and well made... but nobody would ever know bc Capcom forgot to pull their punches
Just incredible. 😮
Still play this, and damn. Cool to see later levels...lmao
I couldnt even make it to the water....as a kid.....even now as an adult lmao
This is unbelievable! Respect!
Bro is speedrunning the hardest game ever.
Snes version piss above the head of genesis version, snes is a best console for ever.
Can anyone explain to me why every speedrun of this game involves playing all of the levels twice?
Because in order to reach the final boss, you need to get the special goddess bracelet which is only available in the second play through of stages.
When you beat the game the first time, the game's like "hey you didn't really beat the game, ha!" because this game is the hardest and trolliest game of all time.
which rom do you use ? my game laggs like sh*t. every level
It's the super famicom cartridge. The type of rom doesn't change anything, you have to strategize for lag reduction. Reduce sprites, kill extra things as you go, break the shield when in gold armor, avoid using extra magic charges, etc. and your game will lag less.
This is what I had to go through to get to school
loook at this guy fingers damn i can't las 1 minet playing like that
I understand to some extent that Ghouls'n'Ghost would inflict a second run to the player since the game is pretty short. But Super Ghouls'n'Ghost is actually twice as long so the second run sounds more like pure sadism from the devs imho.
God damn it man, I love all yours run, amazing, you're the best
"Sense" isn't common either
Which amphetamine are you on when playing these games. Lol.
Actually, the first cars were slower than bicycles.
Congrats, man! I never made it past the second boss with the ring. Ahh, the memories.
It took me a 3 days of keeping the snes on to beat just that boss. (In College)
You only played half the game though... What's your time with both playthroughs?
12:54 oh came on. Turn cheats off
You are very skilled!!! Congrats :)
this will never not be awesome
awesome gameplay!!!
Finished it, but wow, stylish. I concede
Great run. How long have you played this game or practiced it? Thanks as it will help my speedrunning career in general :)
October 2019 is when i started learning the speedrun, but i did maybe 5 playthroughs between 2012 and then.
@@jay_cee583 sick, thanks for the reply. I think you are just superhuman then. Congratz on the victory, good to see you happy. :)
CRT repair isn't really that bad. Lots of videos show you how to take safety precautions to discharge the capacitors.
Nice run!!!
Insane run dude! XD
Great run... it's shocking how slow this Snes version is compared to the much smoother/faster Genesis release. Nicer artwork here though.

It took me years to beat this game
Congrats jay cee, next Battletoads?)
You just have to memorize this game! After that everything easy ! This game very addictive!
How do you prepare for your runs?
Save states, practice, and frame counts. Those three alone will get you to the top of most game leaderboards today.
Please, how do you get so good at this game??
Your skills are amazing, 🎉
The conversation about capacitors in CRTs... makes me angry how dumb people can be on one hand, yet still have a large measure foresight on the other
How do you stop Astaroth from walking into you when you run behind him?
Stay crouched. He'll walk a bit less. Same for Nebiroth. AI in this game is very strange.
This game is fucking impossible, but it's a lot of fun too. I'm blown away by how well you play this game. Please teach me!
How do you practice in this game for do this speed run bro?
I use sd2snes. It's a special cartridge that'll hook up your snes to your PC and practice with save states, until you're ready to put the original cart back in and do full runs without saves.
Just casualy beat the game and record while reading and talking. Sorry to see you got beat by 4 sec, is it possible to do better ?
Oh yeah, it could go a lot more. This run's first loop alone was ten seconds slower than my previous run. And it could go another 10-15 seconds in the 2nd loop if I ever come back and decide to bring out some dangerous big boy strats.
Why do you play so strange with your controller? 🤔
Who is he talking to, what is CRT?
So many questions 😂
What's this about CRT's blowing you back in your chair? Deeply goncerned.
