Yeah. But puzzle 20 and 26 sucked. Puzzle 20: g6 Kf5 g7 Ra8 h7 Ra1 Kh4 Kf4 Kh3 Kf3 Kh2 Ra2+ Kh3 Ra1 etc. is a draw. So g6 was the best winning attempt, but still a draw as Kg6. In puzzle 26: Rf6: looses an exchange. White should not reply with Rf6:?? but instead play Bc3 as he feared. Then after Qe3:+ Qe2 Qe2:+ Ke2: black loses R on f6.... It is a hard puzzle. If d5 to catch Nf6, then Nd5:. To me d6 ot Nd4 seem the best options for black and not hoping for Rf6:? Rf6:??? They should've started the puzzle at a move later.
@@schmetterlingsjaeger Yeah you're right, the 2 pawn vs rook endgame is drawn. Kg6 and g6 both will result in the same. I agree that Bc3 should be played in the other puzzle, but Black has a way getting out ahead: After the line you mentioned 1...Rf6 2. Bc3 Qxe3+ 3. Qe2 you follow it up with 3...Qxc3+! 4.bxc3 Re6!. The endgame should be winning for black, having 2 pieces for the rook.
Just wanna wish NL and every other person here a happy new year! my son turns six so i always enter the new year in a positive note! Cheers to all of ya!
I watch you play puzzles and I’m like omg it’s so obvious how does he not get it. Then I watch you play actual games of chess and I’m like wtf how did he come up with that, I would’ve never seen that, it’s amazing.
9:30 the pawn is pinned by the bishop it's checkmate in 1. You just take the pawn with the Queen and the other pawn can't take back because of the dark squared bishop.
Anybody got a solution for the last one? I thought sacking the queen like NL did was forced checkmate after E pawn takes knight, but no the bastard can escape to f8.
You and Levy are so alike in some ways, in both videos (about chess, released today) you both say nearly identical things Levy2020: Mate is good NL2020:Always take the checkmate
Can you imagine the life-changing difference if NL installed a cat door in his recording room?
But then we can't hear him say "Okay Tomo" anymore :(
Almost as revolutionary as a solution to the misclicks...
@@AR0ACE He could still greet them with Hello Tomo whenever they come in!

Great comment, was trying to find some of those on my own but it's hard when you don't have the analysis / confirmation to back it up.
Thank you, it's such a tease when the solutions aren't in the video!

@@QuCaNi Thanks for the line with the intermediate queen sac. I missed that.
16:12 Maybe not a grandmaster, but an International Grandmaster? Now that’s worth it.
The full title is actually international grandmaster btw
Happy New Year everyone, hope you all have a much better one than 2020. Good Riddance.
Gg happy new year!

"That's mate. Check, take, take, take, check, they go here, that's mate."
NL seeing the board in an instant is the sort of chess I aspire to.
"We could also just get a pawn" lmao
no hate that was just funny af ^^
my channel points egg, my channel points :'(
Egg father dont lose the stubble/beard, its truly poggers on your jaw/chin

NL hasn’t uploaded since last year.
Tamago yelled at me so I’m doing it here instead.
28:15 I think you take with Queen and if Bishop Pin comes you protect with Knight.
Im like a 500 elo and saw it instantly, our brains just built diffrent
10:07 The King & Queen Fork, brother.
That star wars reference was outta control man
Loving all this chess content. So good
NL doing chess puzzle is really entertaining.
Happy New Year my dudes :D
Thanks to this video, I now know that a check mate is a powerful move!
Northernlion making the days faster, Pogged out of my gourd!
16:34 did you just give me the 'it's not you it's me?!' I invented the 'it's not you it's me!' If it's anybody it's me!
okay George

27:40 You take with the rook with the Queen. After the bishop comes out to pin, you simply move the knight to e5 and unpin.
Thanks I was puzzled on that one
Fuck me dude, I was all about that "knight unpins" but I kept putting it at E4, I think you meant D5 in your explanation.

Nice referencity 😂
ennelle , when in the ennelle lore did ennelle become an acceptable calligraphy of ennelle
I’m at 9:40 saying fking hell just take pawn with Queen.
happy 2021 from the FUUUUUUUTURE
24: Queen take rook --> knight to D5 to cover from bishop. That's my guess.
He's done it!
What you need to remember in rush is that the computer makes moves that make no sense
9:35
No need to be weird. Just take the pawn with queen and its checkmate! Other pawn is pinned by the bishop!
northernlion
Just got 27..then it was game over. But I do usually puzzle battles where you're time is key.
19 is Queen takes h6 the pawn is pinned. So its checkmate
Is nl using the phrase tunnel vision a double switch reference
2 Episodes today?!
Anybody got a solution for the last one? I thought sacking the queen like NL did was forced checkmate after E pawn takes knight, but no the bastard can escape to f8.
Rook H7 check, King takes rook on H7 (King F8 is mate in one), Queen H4 check, King G7, Queen H6 checkmate
1. Rg7 Kxg7 2.Qg4+ Kh7 3. Qg6#
1:23 i don't see how that is a checkmate the king can take. 😵
bishop on g5
My money!
NL on Poghamps 3, pls
24: just Nd4 the pawn is pinned and can't take then you take the rook with your queen and win the game.
Can't get weird in puzzles
19:06 There's no winning moves, and multiple drawing moves. That puzzle is absolute BS.
9:43 is so out of left field
I thought the puzzles would be F2P... bummer.
Honestly love the puzzles more than matches, it's so close tho!
