The theme that plays when Goku and Hit switch opponents is so good. Its just an ost thats used to make pure excitement imo.

@@MarbleJellyfishbut it gets ruined later. This one is perfect because it lets the intensity of the violins shine a lot. On later episodes, they add unnecesary guitar rifts that just ruined the melody and make it sound more action/generic. Wish they kept this version.
See this is a peak episode for me. Hit is just....he's the HIM of HIMs. It's so fun to watch him and goku team up and also fight against someone I honestly think is a cool opponent aka Dyspo. Speed characters are always cool to me.

Jack there’s a mistranslation, they say faster than light but they have all been faster than light since OG dragon ball. Dyspo is just really really fast compared to everyone else.
Not necessarily. The speed of light in this world could just be way higher than in our world, considering this is the first time we see a character genuinely moving so fast that light doesn't bounce off of them. I think that makes sense-- now we just need someone to calculate exactly how fast it is!

@NotJpTem yeah, that also checks out. I've always assumed they're closer to plasma, which makes it make a lot more sense to me. Plus I roleplay a bunch so figuring out the science of this fictional world is super fun to me and also kinda relevant to my entertainment

The characters being faster than light since Dragon Ball is one of the biggest misconseptions plaguing this fandom, and it was created by people who have 0 idea how fast speed of light is and what it means. Characters are constantly shown to be ridiculously under speed of light even during Buu saga and beyond, even in time sensitive situations. This line here is the first time light speed is actually brought to the series
Goku dodged lasers in red ribbon ark, he also traveled through hell with pikkon after the cell games in seconds which was the size of the dragon ball universe which is 7-13 times our universe in size. So they are way past light at this point. I watched way to many videos on this stuff🤓.
The part that no one talks about. Hit used Goku's technique! When Hit and Goku fought, Goku took a few hits avoiding critical ones to study Hit. Hit used the same against Dyspo!!
And that doesn't mean Hit is stealing ideas. He respects Goku enough to have learnt that from him during his fight!
Something I really love about this tournament is seeing all the characters adjusting their strategies in such a short amount of time. Taking queues from each other and adapting.

@@Gol.DRichOfficial goku as a kid was able to outpaced tien's solar flair which was stated to be light, and yea there is a deference between reaction speed and travel speed, but goku wasnt just able to react to to tien's solar flair he was also able to move faster then it as he went and grab master roshi's glasses and came back in an instant

02:59 the whole thing about Dispo being "faster than light" is a dubbing mistake. The original Japanese audio never refers to Dispo as being "faster than light" (obviously, it wouldn't make sense for anyone in this arc to be impressed about someone who is simply "faster than light", considering that DB characters managed to reach Massively Faster Than Light speeds as early as the Saiyan Saga).

I just like the style when switching from SSJ God to SSJ Blue. This method also appeared in the Goku Black Arc in the manga, for example. There Vegeta showed the SSJ God for the first time and then switched to God to Blue against Black to save energy.
In manga it was first shown by Goku in a fight against Hit at the 6vs7 Universe tournament
I saw that scene and thought, didn't they say the drawback of blue was that it has a high ignition cost of energy? So if they were consistent with the storytelling, wouldn't jumping back and forth from God to Blue just exhaust Vegeta super quickly? Or am I misremembering that whole thing

fights like this are what the TOP has been missing till now. when i first watched this arc, i hated it more than any other, but on a non-weekly rewatch basis, other than those early episodes that seem like they're only there to disrespect our veteran fighters with foolish defeats, this one shows the warrior spirit between Hit and Son-kun. i love this characterization for both of them.

Thing about I like Hit, is that he’s a technique/skill based fighter. He doesn’t depend on pure power to win. He studies his opponent in battle, and improve his strategy as the fight continues. Then waits for the opportunity to strike

This was actually my very first episode of dragon ball ever. My brother started watching the show with me so this was how i got introduced to most characters, and it made me think Hit was one of the best characters. So imagine my shock when i actually started watching the show in order and realized most of the characters, including Hit, were only in Super lol

Just a reminder that Hit could never go all out. Most of his techniques are about killing his enemy in 1 hit, but unfortunately he can't kill in the tournament, which really limits him
