    Laci, I love your channel and all things vintage and I especially love that you highlighted this store’s safety policies. I am an epidemiologist and while I don’t think that shutting businesses and staying home is the answer, we must take precautions while going about our daily lives to hasten the process of getting back to our normal lives and reducing the spread. Thank you for highlighting that ❤️❤️

    Tip for you that I actually learned this week. Traditional clip on earrings are adjustable you just need a plyers or an item called a comfeekey! I feel like I wouldn't of gotten my ears pierced if I had known that. I just ordered myself some earring clip on converters for my dangling earrings cause I never would wear them due to me being a klutz cause I always would get caught on something and feeling like ripping my earlobes off and I don't know why I didn't switch those to clip on sooner.

    This is charming and relaxing, thank you (love the plates). I recently found a 1960s shirtdress (it is fit and flare, but I don't think it's 1950s and seems homemade). It has a very deep hem, cloth covered buttons and is in perfect condition. It's all black and perhaps rayon. It's a little big, but, with a belt, it looks fine. I found it at our local Salvation Army for $7. The East Coast is well mined, but treasures still do exist! My daughter does 80s on, so she finds lots of treasures. Your videos are awesome, Laci!

    Oh my. You mentioned a circle skirt and felt appliqués. In the 50s my mother made felt circle skirts for myself and my two sisters. We wore these on the holidays because she handmade adorable little felt appliqués according to each holiday. Valentine’s Day I remember she had a white cart with Valentines overflowing from the cart. Christmas we had a tree and all sorts of toys underneath each tree etc. What must’ve been a labor of love hand basting each one of those appliqués on the skirts. We loved our felt skirts!! Could hardly wait to wear them to school. Thank you for the memory 💕

      *Please explain to me what do you mean by charity shop? You mean people just get in and take whatever they want or?*

    • @heatherkemp1846
      @heatherkemp1846 3 года назад +1

      A charity shop is a shop set up by a local or national charity, for example , oxfam, cancer research and the heart foundation are some of the bigger charitys, I usually don't use these as you don't know where the money goes to. Most UK towns city's and villages have a hospice and they will have a store front shop. Many animal rescues have store front shops and charities for dementia, mental health etc all have stores.
      I think because UK is small and even the cities are ancient most of our charity shops are small and many struggling to keep afloat in good times because of taxes and rents. I have been finding that the bigger named and national stores are getting greedy and their prices are more expensive than normal shops. I avoid them.they also have people (dealers) go through the stock so there is little chance of a bargain.
      I prefer the smaller shops, both too donate to and to shop at. X

    • @artisthusnatalal3099
      @artisthusnatalal3099 3 года назад

      @@heatherkemp1846 Thank you soo much for explaining. I have my charity page in Facebook @THE HUSNA CENTER so I thought it's kinda the same. I just give charity with the little or anything that I have like food, clothes, shoes, they all belong to me I didn't follow people yet for donations but in future I want to do like Food Bazaar once a month whereby I cook I double the price sell the food then donate to the poor families in Kenya and Yemen. I belong to both countries.

I have 1-30 but I have two copies of the 30th one. One from 1953 (the same year it was published) and a new copy from my great grandma. But anyways I didn’t find a 1950s dress in my size because I am on only 11 years old and I find it rare to find an actual dress my size from 1950s. I also found some vintage yarn that was in good condition. I love that you went crazy with the sewing stuff. I would do the same if I found crochet things. Great video!

    I collect vintage cookbooks too. A couple of weeks before Christmas my hubby and I went into a Salvation Army store. They had several vintage sewing machines for $250 each. One was in a cabinet similar in shape to the last one you showed. It was fully refurbished. Hubby went back to the store and bought it for me for Christmas. It's from 1921. Love the purple shoes. Like you, I have to look at everything. I knew that vintage clothing was sized differently than today. Just didn't think of looking at all of the different size areas.

    Enjoyed Thrifting with you. I have a flame point Siamese cat, Corky Noodleman, who resembles your little guy. Massive Tom, very intelligent and a wonderful cat. Not fat, just a large frame. I just adore him as I do all my critters. Love the shoes. My goodness. You’re almost at 100,000 subscribers. Congratulations.

    Fun finds! Shoes are 80-90’s, not 50’s. Love the kitty pin, & oh my someone else who goes bonkers over sewing notions and machines! I was very excited by that. I’m selling all of my glove collection on eBay because I never wear anymore

    I have a set of Mikasa dishes that came from at least the 50s maybe earlier but I also have limoge China from my other grandmother which I am going to keep so unfortunately I have to part with the Mikasa. If you would like a picture of them most of the set is there. My fave thing you found are the shoes! ❤️

    I think it would be fun for you to review and show how you determine what clothes are actual vintage i.e. characteristics you look for, etc.
    You ALWAYS look nice!

    Man I keep seeing the squirrel on the nut ceramic dish all over I seen two at a thrift store in Bama where I live lol there must have been a big production of them.

      Doing ceramics was very popular. The squirrel on a walnut or on a peanut are nut dishes. My dad did both in the early '70's. You bought them plain and painted them yourself.
