Even a Toyota developed 3 cylinder is a disappointment. We need 4 cylinder engines, this cost cutting trend of giving 3 cylinders even in this budget segment needs to stop. Kudos to Honda for giving a proper 4 cylinder in Elevate.
3 Cylinder Turbo powered engines are as good as 1600 cc Naturally Aspirated engines. Only the number of cylinders do not matter but how they are designed and tuned, matters.
@@vardanrathi7777 No they are absolutely not. Firstly 3 cylinders are inherently unbalanced they vibrate a lot. And the turbo only kicks in after certain RPMs have been crossed. In the city driving very rarely you'll get the benefits of a turbocharger unless you really push your car in lower gear.

Yes, turbo kicks in only after certain RPM but that is quite lower than RPMs required to attain peak torque of a Naturally Aspirated engine. Modern 3 cylinder Turbo what VW/Skoda/Hyundai/Maruti makes are far superior than the previous ones.

Except fortuner and Innova, all their cars are bland in terms of gizmos and appearances. Look at the Panaromic cover. How can one expect to drive this car in Delhi and rajasthan area with so much sun shine in the cabin. They just load their premium models only 2. They started discontinue models without any specific reason in a SHORT TIME of its debut- Qualis, corolla, Etios, urban cruiser. These two reasons makes the consumer in a doubtful state that how long Toyota models stays in Indian market
I will still choose Kia Seltos 1.5 CRDi HTX+ diesel iMT or GTX+ diesel automatic I will mention reason. 1) After spending 20-22 lakhs gets only 3 cylinder engine which I feel is not worth. 2) Poor battery size it may be decently efficient in city but on highway it’s efficiency drops considerably because of engine nature at 100 km/h speed engine rpm is above 2,600 which is quite high and gobbles fuel easily. Where else in case of Kia/ Hyundai CRDi they spins at 1,600/- rpm comfortably. 3) After spending 22 lakhs one gets feeling of Maruti Suzuki Breeza more than Toyota. 4) leg room at rear is not good especially behind passenger side battery is placed right underneath. 5) Boot space is compromised badly. 6) When there are 4 people and boot full of luggage engine comes in real strain especially at the time of overtaking and climbing up hill. 7) Nothing can bet diesel in terms of efficiency, practicality, space & power it’s a no compromise car at any given point.

Good review. The Toyota brand name is the only reason to buy it. But the company has disappointed Indian drivers to a great extent. In other words they have mocked the Indians. Even the Chinese would feel ashamed to see the concept of panoramic sunroof provided in this car. I did a test drive on non hybrid model with fully loaded pessenger and throughout the ride it was easily visible that the engine is struggling very hard. Anyways all this will lead to better sales figures of Tata and Mahindra ,the Swadeshi counterparts❤😅🎉

What's the benefit of a good car if it's not available! Toyota seems more focused on manufacturing for Maruti Suzuki than making it's own vehicles. No matter how good Hyryder is, I'm sure more than half of those wanting to buy this are opting for other SUVs either instantly available or on a very small waiting period.
i sold my ecosport petrol in just 1700kms on odometer just because it was a 3 cylinder engine. i wont even buy a 3 cylinder engine with turbo. I would rather go for a venue crdi or xuv300 diesel.
Pros of the vehicle :- Good mileage efficiency Cons :- 1. Poor interiors, hard plastics, no touch panels, light material used for sunroof, very less boot space considering the price, below average music system. Once you cross 40 kmph, you can feel the vibration and sound of the three cylinder engine and it’s annoying. Verdict:- Buy it, if your only concern is mileage.
You can't compare Hyryder hybrid with fronx turbo. Lot of difference in handling, suspension, build and all round dynamics.. secondly Hyryder hybrid is with cvt n electric motor with combined 114 bhp power

It was a perfect opportunity to launch Elevate in Hybrid and with 360 degree cam n cooled ventilated seats and make a dream suv but missed by Honda

I found that if need to go outstation with multiple luggage, then you can remove the parcel tray. After that, there is plenty of space for suitcases.
