Its definitely him. And its very different from his earlier voice. He completely re- worked his technique. After he retired! He would never have been able to sing into his 90s the old way. So there his always hope!
I don’t know how old he was here, but listening it strikes me that the slight unsteadiness and tendency towards a wobble and uncertain intonation in the middle - that one of course sets aside in his stupefying clips when in his 90’s - might have always been part of his voice. There definitely has been this kind of tenor that is happiest above the staff, which is where the solid support kicks in.
Singers are not instrumentalists, and they are not always perfectly on pitch. The singer's instrument is his/her body and any little thing can change the voice a bit. This is very good.
This is when he was in his 60s, dramatic voice requires much more support that a younger body can handle, all he did was when he aged beyond 70 and into 90s is aim to sound lighter, as it requires less diaphragmatic support/ air and easier on an older body
Buongiorno a lei ...partiamo che adoro Corelli ma tanto anche se resto Delmonachiano sino alla mia morte.Loforese resta un perfetto esempio però di tecnica e freschezza vocale.Certo è vissuto in un epoca dove il vivaio di tenori ( e non solo) nel nostro paese era quello che era e che tutti sappiamo.Ma si ricordi che Loforese non ha da invidiare nulla a nessuno ha una sua personalità e una voce che sfida ancora oggi la famosa legge dellusura vocale.
e poi il suo commento non è per nulla elegante...anch'io considero Del Monaco il vero e unico tenore mai esistito ma sempre rispettando tutti gli altri grandi che comunque adoro e ascolto con attenzione e stima Loforese Naturalmente è un vero tenore e di primissimo ordine è un Leone di serie A.

La calidad de sus graves y medios es porque el inicio como bajo, luego pasó a barítono y después a tenor.

Maybe I am wrong but I have a feeling it's not Loforese singing here....too different the voice from other recordings.

He was great. But he improved. His singing at age 93 is better in many ways!

Didn't know his timbre is that of spinto dramatic tenor. In his later years, he seems to be a lyric one.
