  • Tommy and Kenzie discuss various popular Disney myths and rumors, and discuss whether they are true, false, or somewhere in the middle. Are there tunnels under Magic Kingdom? Does Johnny Depp sometimes stand in for Jack Sparrow on Pirates of the Caribbean? Is there a hotel room in Cinderella Castle? Can you get a free t-shirt by wearing an inappropriate top to the park? We'll answer all of those questions, and more.

I was so upset on one trip. It rained that day, and Ido not know if it was broken, or wether the cm forgot to push the button, but the protective dome over the Magic Kingdom was not activated, and everybody in the park got soaked. 😂

The FCUK shirts use to get you a free shirt in 2001. Irony was PH sold PHUK shirts.

When I worked at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, I would either ride my bike to work (in costume), or take public transit. Once when I was riding the bus in my Tomorrowland costume, a little boy looked at me and asked, "Do you work at Disneyland?" I said, yes, I did. The boy thought about this for some time, and then asked with a very serious face, "Do they let you work there for free?" I almost cracked up, it was so cute and innocent. I admitted that yes, I did not have to pay to work at Disneyland. In fact, I explained, Disneyland paid me! The boy's eyes got as wide as saucers, and I suggested that maybe one day he might work at Disneyland, too! It was guest interactions like this that made my job so much better.

I read a horror story/creepypasta about the utilidor and like a hidden part of an attraction like a house that was part of an attraction being used as the entrance to a backstage/underground area in wdw which was part of a child trafficking ring to kidnap children...it read pretty real told from the story of an x disneyworld security officer that discovered it. That scared the crap out of me a few years ago.

The whole cryo thing is a myth. The rumor started shortly after Walt died because cryogenics was beginning, and Walt was always fascinated by the latest technology. However when Walt died cryogenics was so early in development the technology to do just parts of the body did not exist. As to if they did his whole body, that to is a long shot for the time.

The only write up i had was for wearing my costume at a gas station. I did not have my nametag on and ran into a supervisor that tricked me into asking where i worked. They went out of their way to repremand me and it sucked. But offically you can not stop at a store, but you can drive home.

Weird. I was explicitly told during traditions that it's fine to stop as long as your nametag is off.

@backstagethoughts maybe different times? I have been a CM a few different times and the last was the 2 years leading up to the pandemic closures. But also my last traditions class my instructors told me chernabog wasn't a Disney character when we played the name all the characters you can name. I do know that my only write up ever was from that one off duty encounter. I work for a competitor now and it is a huge no no where I am at.

@rsmith8434 it just means the people leading my traditions had no real Disney knowledge. Heck, chernabog is in fantasmic and boo to you, as well as spectromagic and main Street electrical. So, short answer is the leaders of traditions seem to know less than some of those earning their ears.

When I had my car on my second program in 2008 I worked at Hollywood Studios at Backlot Express. I had to make a stop at Walmart for something and I had my costume on and no name tag. When I was there picking up something I got stopped by a Walmart shopper and asked if I worked at Walmart. Clearly I was in a Disney costume. Now I actually work at Walmart.
