I’m actually in tears at your sincerity and your grief. If we take our eyes off the UNION WITH GOD priority, we’re truly lost, confused, and desolate. “I am the Way, the Truth, the Life.” Our church is losing this simple Gospel headline.
Happy to see how David Torkington has refocused your attention on prayer. Me, too!!! Only union with God will save us from this mess, barring the Lord’s return. Haven’t read Interior Castle, but plan to soon.
Thank you Robert for this Truth. I ordered St Catherine’s book. I shall endeavor to build my union with Christ. Thank you for showing me this path. May God bless you.🙏
So clear and so obvious - makes me wonder what on earth Rome is doing?? Things just keep getting worse! The whole journey is the way of sanctification of union with Christ and this is utterly absent from the Church. Thank you Robert!
Rome is abusing its power and the innocent faith of many Catholics who unquestioningly trust it. I myself cannot be that naive. It is crystal clear that the enemies of Christ and of his Church are now in charge of it. God help us.
Excellent podcast. You are 100% correct the church needs to focus more on the interior journey instead of only focusing on externalities. Each soul has to be remedied, and that is an internal matter first and foremost. The Will and the Intellect are part of each soul. The more we can align our will and intellect to God's way, then the externalities will be aligned as well. Thanks Robert
Thank you, Robert. The first time I attended the Traditional Mass, I thought I was in Heaven! Continue to preach the Truth! Best regards from Canada. 🇨🇦 🙏♥
Thank you for your comments. I live in America and have noticed how far away so many people are from understanding. I wonder why people don’t seem to know how to be Catholic. I would love it if one Sunday I could observe all people staying on their knees until the Body of Christ is locked back in the Tabernacle. There is a lack of reverence. I pray each day. God bless you!
Excellent Robert! Have you considered interviewing Katherine, Mark and Gavin? (Catholic Unscripted) It’s time to unite the forces of orthodox Catholicism!
Where is the question on how to demonstrate solidarity with christians around the world that are under persecution, example Nigeria? How, in Europe should we demonstrate our christians faith when under attack from muslims? How to answer friends that turn to new age for their spiritual needs? How to explain that developing narcissistic behaviour isn’t a good thing when the individual experience benefits from that route? I surely could think of a few more questions that urgently need answers…. Of course, the essence of it all is How to get closer to God!
Absolutely, unity with Jesus is the true path the church should be following and encouraging the people of God follow. This is the pathway that leads to the salvation of souls. As you say, the problem is, the Shepherds have put unity with God aside in favour of unity with people. My experience of sharing my own journey of unity with Christ with Shepherds is silence, no interest. Polite listening is the best you can expect. I would dearly love the oportunity to share my own and other peoples experiences of their journey of unity with God, in the context of the parish community. The benfits to everyones faith journey would be immeasurable. Returing to the list you read from, the poor are us who are deprived of the riches of being a living community of faith, that sharing with each other our unity with Chirst would bring. I am sure our personal faith experiences would be complimentary, serving to bond our parish faith community together as family. As you point out, the gospel of institutional cohesion, new ways of sharing positions in power structures the synodal pathway is driving along without the goal of the salvation of souls, is meaningless.
The woman caught in adultry comes to mind. Jesus didn’t judge her but He did tell her to go and sin no more. That wasn’t a suggestion it was a command. People love to quote the first part and ignore the second.
If you want to help the people you tell them the truth but if you want to help yourself you tell them what they want to hear, the Vatican has turned to the will of man and is telling the church what it wants to hear, and not the will of God which is the truth.
As a cradle Catholic, witnessing a pope who is openly going against Catholicism is disturbing. However, the sooner we realize this sad fact, the better we can withstand the attacks against the Church from within.
The synod is listening to the world and telling those in the church what they want to hear, and the Vatican has bowed down to the will of man rather than God’s will and he wants the salvation of souls, as he said on the cross I THIRST.
We have so few "Marys", as you rightly state, because Rome seems dedicated to shutting down nuns/sisters, esp. contemplative ones. No wonder we have no St. Teresas today.
Her theology was totally focused on Jesus and so must ours - He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life that only He can instil in us that makes us His witnesses fired up by the Holy Spirit and obedient children of the Father unified in Jesus' Church showing the world what it means to reform our life, repent and be intentional believers in the Gospel. This is how we become a bright light in the world's darkness.

Yeah, but it's like the rules of Fight Club, you never talk about Fight Club. Talking about one's own experiences in prayer is seen as inappropriate in Catholic circles, and the Catholic Church has never emphasised personal experience as the basis for belief. Rather it's an intellectual assent to a series of dogmas of the Faith. People are counselled regularly to ignore their personal experiences, or keep them secret until a priest or superior orders them to share.
Robert, I agree with most of what you say, BUT surely we can trust a woman to act responsibly as a deacon. An Orthodox church in Sydney Australia impressed me greatly by the humble, useful role played there by women deacons, taking part in singing the liturgy (3 hours long). They are surely walking close to the Virgin Mary. I believe a woman's perspective complements the male. A priest's burden is heavy. Perhaps a woman can do more than clean and serve tea and biscuits, but as a female give advice, scold and comfort!
How much: 1. CO2 produced, 2. Trees cut down for paperwork 3. And monies spent, for this disaster? We need to take the green metrics and throw it back at them. I think they call this in.logic reduction to the ridiculous.
Thank you for this message. I think everyone today struggles with knowing Christ. People have their own versions of who Christ is to them, similar to how people have “their truth.” I think Protestantism has invaded our Catholic faith. And I know…I’m a convert.
It’s like recommending the book “Holy Sex” when it is anything but Holy or Moral yet recommended by very holy Marian Fathers. Why because it isn’t their business to know morals…. Go figure! The Catholic Church really lacks in the area of Morals especially for married couples.
But the Big picture is there's years to come of this..Just as a fire destroys a forest, the trees are gone, and look at what's left..can't replant w/0 seed..Oh how long .?
Outside of the gift of faith in Baptism, the ones who not experience unity with God speak of faith as some kind of blind brave belief, which is akin to stoicism. However, faith is an action of God in the soul and intelect which St Paul states in his letter to his fellow Jews in Heb 11:1, "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for the conviction of things unseen." It is only God who can underwrite the assurance of things we hope for when we first belive. Faith is God uniting Himself within our souls and informing our intelect. Faith is the basis of our unity with God. Jesus said that if we love Him we shall keep His commandments and God will reveal Himself to us. This is a revelation of faith and this is an experience of unity with God. The gift of faith is the assurance that God is real and it comes in many and diverse packages. Unfortunately, as you say Robert, few Shepherds know this as a lived experience. It goes someway to explain why our Shepherds are now leading the people of God astray, and appear to be like wolves in sheeps clothing. For the Church and the salvation of souls .. ❤🙏🙏🙏❤️
Wasn't this always true? I doubt if there was ever any golden age when things were different. Nothing new about popes and bishops that are not up to the job. Christ spoke about the narrow gate that few enter, and the broad path to destruction that many travel.
