  • I came across this song a few years back and immediately fell in love with it; not only because Shanice is an exceptional vocalist, but because the message is potent. I finally located and purchased the CD (The Music The Magic The Memories of Motown: A Tribute To Berry Gordy) and thought best to share it. I hope it will inspire and uplift you the same way it has uplifted me.

I loved this song the first time I heard it in 1988. Her voice sent chills through me along with the mesmerizing synthesizer solo, this song is absolutely beautiful. I would come to hear her in concert just for this song 🙂

This song should have been a number one hit for Shanice ❤

I totally agree. But it wasn't released as a single. This type of song was the direction Motown should have focused on for her second project with the label.

It's a stellar song that appeared on a tribute album to Motown Founder, Berry Gordy. You may also like to check out her cover of the classic, 'I Want To Go Back There Again' that was also featured on the same album.

Can you upload the unreleased song Smile by Shanice which was written and produced by Babyface that was made for Tamia’s 2004 album More?

Sorry for taking this long to reply. Smile was written by Shanice and Babyface for her 1999 Laface project. She recorded it, but it never made it on the album. As you know, Babyface gave it to Tamia for her 2004 album. Unfortunately, Shanice's version is not available to the public and may well be locked away with all the Laface masters now being managed by Legacy Records. Therefore, I doubt we will ever hear Shanice's version unless she re-records it, or Legacy Records releases it. I hope this info helps, and do continue to support Shanice.
