I should have mentioned that Dan is One of the All Time Great. college and Pro career. I met him at the 2011 Hall of Fame ( My cooege coach got inducted that year ) . I had a chance to meet and speak to Dan and his wife. What a thrill, we went on for 20 minutes about so much of his career ( i did that talking ) and about the NCAA game vs Jacksonville . We also spoke about Howard Porter of Villanova ( MOP of the 1971 tourney ) - Dan = Class Guy and Great Guy

My favorite player of all time. I grew up in very rural southwestern Kentucky and followed Issel's career in the pages of the Louisville Courier Journal newspaper that was delivered to our house each day. I quickly became a Kentucky Colonel aficionado and knew Dan through the newspaper stories long before I ever got to see him play.
In fact, I never actually saw Issel in an NBA game until after he retired when I began to collect videos of past NBA and ABA games. I know have a collection of those I have uploaded here on You Tube.

Nuggets fan here who was a teen, I believe, when Dan played there. This was a great conversation. Good to see him again. He looks good.

You are right! This was our first show and we thought going in we would feature two per show. After this show, we realized that we needed to feature only one person to do them justice!

@@fromtheraftersofrupp117 Love what you are doing. If possible, could you let me know if Tom Kron was, like Larry Conley, sick during that Championship game?
