  • I finally got a front vise for my workbench. I got a big chunk of walnut for the lumber. The vise didn't have a handle either so I was able to blow the dust off my lathe and try out some turning.

Just received mine today. Thank you for the tutorial. Yeah, I too was wondering about adding dogs to the face board. Stay well!

Hey Tim. Quick question. So, did you just discard the two other smallish pieces that came with the vise? If so, what were they intended for and why did you decide not to use them.
EDIT: Ah, disregard my question. I can see now that those were for mounting a larger inside vice jaw if you needed it.
    Thanks for the tutorial.

Hey! Yes that is exactly what they are for. Pertaining your question, I didn't throw them away just in case for later use

What size is the front jaw?? Would you change anything about the install??

The front jaw was i think 20". I just used a full piece of lumber from the store. I like the extra overhang on the side because then i can have something longer in a vertical position.
