An absolute great video I chanced upon and giving good tips. I have a question. We are a grp of photographers and intend to visit Deadvlei. One of our interest is astro photography, ie shooting star trails and milkway using the trees as back drop. In your video also shown a segment of star galzing. How is it possible to stay for the night (some star trails may take 3 hrs or more) since the 2nd gate closes ard 8pm if we understand correctly. Any idea are we allowed to stay inside? If you can elaborate how the two gates operate that will be very helpful. I learned that it is best to stay in the camp site that is after gate 1. Only then we can roam around freely in the night. But then there is gate 2. Is it always open so we can go into the dead pan in the night? Its quite confusing in some of the youtubes. TQ
That what i was saying to him coz next month will be on that side. You know from the first time i saw his video driving from driving from cape town to namibia i never stopped watching his videos
Great information! This is the first video that mentions about the last 5km being 4x4 only. I’m coming to Namibia in November and I’m excitex to explore this beautiful country
What are the food options inside the park? (I mean near the gate, of course deep inside the dunes there won’t be anything obviously) And do you know if you can, for example, leave the park, put fuel in your car or eat at that petrol station you showed at 2:15, and then come back to the park for sunset with the same entrance fee? Do you have to pay again? Do you know how that works? Great video as always
They have a basic restaurant at the NWR reception I showed and a restaurant at the Sossusvlei lodge. At the garage they have pies and sandwiches. Probably more once covid is over. Yes, you can exit and re-enter as many times as you want. The park fees cover the whole day
Fantastiese videos in jou reeks, dankie. Ons is oor n week by Sossusvlei.
Die mense doen gewoonlik sunset by Elim
Very clear and detailed video! As a Namibian 🇳🇦 who hasn’t visited this place, this is very Informative as I plan on visiting next month
Thanks Malcon, enjoy your visit to Sossusvlei

Was here in September. Amazing place
Yip, one of my favorites in Namibia
Great video. We are planning a trip there this year.
Nice Videos Nick.., is it possible to drive from Rooiklip Guest Farm via Spreetshoogte Pass and get to Walvis Bay?
with a 4x4?

Will be there in June, can’t wait
You must be itching to get going!
Absolutely awesome.
🙏Derius!
Hey, I'm going to Sossusvlei on this June. is there any guide or we have to walk the dune solo ?
There are no guides. You will have to book a private one, if you want to use a guide
Again I love your videos and also where did you get that cool bough?
what is a bough?
@@NickfrNamibia I mean that Namibia mask.
Beautiful Namibia.. Landscape looks like you are on the moon, except for the water 😂😂 How many kilometres is it from Windhoek?
the water is lucky, if you swim in it you will become a rich man with many wives😂about 400km roughly, 350 if you dont get lost along the way
nice! thanks! Did u say u r leaving Africa, wasnt very clear.
Thanks Dinka, no I am leaving Namibia, where I am from to explore the rest of Africa for 10 years
Looks much dryer than almost 20 years ago and then ...... water in Dead Vlei :) :)
yeah always very dry, did you see water in Sossusvlei when you visited?
@@NickfrNamibia No, it was like (I thought) always: white and dry... so you brought surprising news ;)
@@africalisa this is also the only time ive seen it like this
I drove to deadvlei in my 4x2 about a month ago…it can be done but you must know how to drive in thick sad 😹😹🙈
yip, you and I can do it, but Ive helped so many there stuck with big 4x4s
Is Afrikaans the language you grew up speaking?
yes it is
U travel nice men wow
Are you fully cadaan
Say again?
Because of the climate change from now on Sossusvlei will be wet each year, I expect.
Very possible. I think out of the last 3 years Sossusvlei has had water for 2 of them...
