When I’m trolling on the lake I’d say about 10’ If I’m trolling out by the rigs just depends where the fish are on the sonar. Then I can choose the correct lure to dive the distance I need it to.
@@JesseGonzalezFishing Thanks, that tells me no more than about 25-30ft of line out at 5mph. Rigs? We're talking about Lake Calaveras right? They have rigs out in the middle?
Sorry I read that wrong. I was thinking depth. I’d say about 20-30’ for lakes and 30-50 for offshore. Just depends how deep your diving and where the fish are.
@@motleypixel I troll this lake weekly I troll rapala Shad raps jointed Shad color and I cast like I normally would let some more line out I troll in 12 to 15 feet of water if your lines are bouncing the bottom in 12 to 14 feet reel some line in I troll with gas motor 2 to 3 mph and catch Several everytime I go
@@JesseGonzalezFishingJesse, what water depth do you normally find them? I normally fis for Hybrids on Lake Conroe and water depth is very key to finding the fish!
@@charlesfoster8814 Id imagine it will work ! I usually fish top water on the flats in salt water. Only thing is when you mark a school your already over them or passing them. Worth a shot
@@marcgalvez1278 I’ve never used a down rigger but can be useful if your using a fish finder and the fish are holding at a certain depth. Otherwise I’ve had a lot of luck without one.
Thank you for sharing, @Jesse Gonzalez Fishing and well done! 🐟🎣🪝
Thanks !
Nice video, bro and see you at Calaveras!
Thanks ! Let’s go fishing ! Just tell me when 🎣
Nice I just got a boat ready to fish this lake I’m local to the area native around here
Mr.Jessie , I see you are trolling without down riggers. What size and which rattle traps do you recommend for the depth you normally fish
I sure am ! Down Riggers are not my cup of tea. I use 1oz Magnum Rattle Traps for 0-10’ then I have deep divers for other deeper depths
@@JesseGonzalezFishing thank you Sir, your knowledge is very well useful for myself and others. Stay Blessed
@@dennisorozco-k4j Yes Sir. You as well
I like your video thank you for sharing 🛎👍
Thanks !!
What's the average depth when you are trolling? What's the average line out when you troll, 30/40/50ft? Thank you.

Excellent job

Great video bro and at what speed are you trolling i usually anchor fish but want to try trolling
Thanks ! Usually just cast them off the back of the boat and give out a little extra line. Troll about 6mph.

I normally fis for Hybrids on Lake Conroe and water depth is very key to finding the fish!
@@charlesfoster8814 Honestly just depends…. Usually get them 0-10’ deep but lately they have been 10-20’ deep. Especially when it starts to heat up.

Jesse, do you ever throw top water baits? Your "0 to 10" gives me the thought you can catch them with surface lures!

Are you using a down rigger?
No sir. Just trolling 1oz Magnum Rattle Traps.

I was thinking about getting a down rigger, good to know I don't have to
