Hi ! I made my hazel piramid bow in 3 weeks from the moment of harvesting ...😯😯😯 Two weeks of drying in air and at fire , one week for design chop and tiller . At the end , I hardened the belly of the bow in fire . This recipe of making a green wood bow is not mine , my grand father teached me ... Greetings from ROUMANIA !!!😀😀😀 Sorin-THE BOWMAN
I find this video fascinating. I always knew that there must be a huge amount of skill and knowledge involved in making things like that, but to actually see it done is amazing.
My last bow took about 18-20 hours of actual working time, but ended up a bit lighter than I'd like. Though 45# is still nothing to scoff at, and it's fun to shoot.
I think your the guy that has been helping me out on the RUclips forum site and emailing me..now you know my RUclips name so idk if you still need the link..lol..if your not this person I'm sorry for the confusion.
IsLander Beauty at least I am around in the help forums a lot :) It would really help if you could post the information there. It helps to push your post to the top again and to give other users the chance to help you. That way you will get more, faster and better help than just relying on me even though I'll try my best.
I just finished an Osage orange reflexed bow. I cut the sapling when I cut my larger logs with the intent to have something to work on while my larger logs seasoned. After 3 months I went ahead and started work on the sapling bow. It turned out awesome. Here is a link to my Facebook album of the build. facebook.com/roy.dean.77/media_set?set=a.829687363733733.1073741881.100000774314169&type=3
my last bow took me a week of on and off work then drying. but its not near as nice as yours. its forty pounds at twentytwo inchs and is only fifty one inchs end to end

That's a cool story!
Well done identifying your tillering error and saving it!
+Simon Roome thanks
I like your accent. Superb video and instructional content.
Thanks for the compliments.
Hi, I really enjoyed your video. It's also nice to see someone that responds to comments. Thank you, John
Thanks for letting me know :)
Nice work. Within 5 mins of shooting that bow in anyone's yard within 100 miles of here, the shooter would've been in the iron hotel. ;-)
I guess there's hardly any civilized country where you don't have to ask for permission ;)

Bettina Binks it's actually not that much of a talent you need. It's more the practice :)
Great build
Thanks
Well done Sir! I'm about to start work on a sapling and hopefully can obtain a reasonable bow- let's see.
Flaxen Saxon
Good luck ;)
Great work, I prefer the lightweight draw weight.
I agree that 30# is pretty comfortable but I prefer 40# for me.
I love archery but I have never seen how they are actually made. That was very interesting :)
ZombieBrain if you have some experience it's actually not very difficult and a very cheap hobby.

Danke für die Blumen und viel Erfolg mit deinem Bogen ;)
Really cool video. I just got into archery, mainly due to there being so few deer during rifle hunting season. I'm really enjoying it.
***** thanks for the compliment. Archery is really a great sport and good for your back.

Sounds like a pretty fun project :)
It was, can't wait to make another. Though, quick drying is not my favourite method.
It's also not mine. This was only done because of the competition rules.
Really cool!
***** thanks for the compliment. Great that you made it to my channel :)
I made my last selfbow in about 1-2 days. It isn't very well tillered, as it's my first finished wood bow.
Just keep practicing. It's worth it.
Nice crocs ;)
jimmy p they are great even for the prom :D

Roy Dean very nice documentation of the building process.
Thank you. I have several more albums documenting different bow builds. Feel free to browse.
I bet that's fun to shoot
Absolutely :)
Schönes Video.
Gruß von einem FC Kollegen :-)
Wolfgang Büttner dankeschön. Freut mich, wenn es dir gefallen hat :)
Two weeks for me from start to finish
+brandon congrats. Did you also start from green wood?

Congrats :)
i havent made any bows yet just bent swords after my bows broke
Don't worry. A bit more practice and your bows won't break ;)
My bow took half a day from cutting it down to shooting arrows ... it was rubbish!
8 hours and it has 35 pounds its not very beautifoul but it works
Cool! Now it's time for the next one ;)
