I have lived in Wisconsin my whole life, I'm 52, I have gone to Wisconsin dells since I was just a little guy, love the breakfast the very most, the pancakes and taters are my favorites. The sausage is so excellent. I still go up there 2 times a year and stay overnight just to get their breakfast. Great review.
My family went there every summer back in the 80s. Great food. I didn't get back there for many years but around 2010 my family all met there because that's kind of central to where the interstate takes you. Nothing was the same. They already had so many corners cut that the next year it was Golden Corral. Our Golden Corral went under but the Paul Bunyan's turned me off so bad I won't drive 2 hours to eat there. I have made a 4 hr round trip for great prime rib, 6 hr round trip for beef jerky my wife wanted and around 4 hours for 2lbs(all they had) of Landjaegers that my whole family loved. I would drive an hour each way for 1985 Paul Bunyan food but what they had the last time was not worth it.
The first time I ever was there, I was 12, my uncle took me there. It's one of my favorite places to stop at or I do anything else anytime I go to Wisconsin dells
It is sad the one in minocqua closed down in 2019, I use to goto that one 1-2 times every summer growing up and have also gone to the one in the dells you were at a few times when I was in the area. IMO the one in minocqua was leagues better than the dells in quality especially the ayce dinner, and friendliness of the staff.
Very very sad that it's closed parents took us there every time we went to minocqua didn't go to the the dells one much and I live in Madison good memories
@kristinel6352 it is always weird when you live close to something and rarely go. I can relate living so close to NYC, and whenever we have friends in town they are always surprised by some nyc places we have not gone to yet.
This place sucked ass.We had 6 people in our party, and they bring a tiny bowl of scrambled eggs, (about 3 eggs) and 3 sausages and tell us we all have to split that, and when we are done, we get ahold of our server to get more food, meanwhile this server is attending to 20 other families. After 45 minutes they come back with another tiny portion for 6 people to split, and it was literally enough for 2 people. And it costed $18 dollars a person. I got up and left because I wasn't going to wait another 45 minutes for 4 bites of food! I have never seen an all you can eat breakfast, where They control the amount of food you get, when you can eat, and the time they feel like serving you! That was the most ass backward, ridiculous place I ever ate! (Or didn't eat!).

Pancakes & bacon, all the way, baby! With some scrambled cackleberries on the side.
