    I’m really excited for this, I personally am glad that Tokyo Disneyland still does big expensive things themed to Disney films, while sadly the American parks have built lands based on Iger acquired IP that I don’t really care about like Marvel, Star Wars, and Avatar all of which are just desperately trying to compete with Universal after their incredible success with Harry Potter.
    I’m looking forward to visiting this when I hopefully go to Tokyo Disneyland around 2028. And since this will have been opened for about four years by then, it’ll likely be declining in crowds a bit.
    I’m also glad that this should take a bit of attention away from Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, so I should be able to ride it at least a few times when I go as the lines won’t be as long as they usually are now.

      Of course the total chaos will have subsided by then, but Toy Story Mania is 10 years old here and still gets 2 hour long queues most days 😅
      The parks here are wonderful but they’re incredibly popular!
      But of course Space Mountain 2 will be the big new thing when you’re here!

      @@8bitthemepark That’s very true! I can’t believe I forgot to mention that! As the new Space Mountain will likely only be a few months old, I’ll likely only ride it once as I’m sure the crowds will be INSANE and I have no idea when the next time I’ll get out to Tokyo Disneyland will be. Hopefully sometime in the 2030s though.

    so far the BEST breakdown for Fantasy Springs, I live in Japan, and let me tell you, from what I gather, It's going to be difficult for even Japanese people to get in there in 2024.... I plan on being there after the rainy season

    Regarding Fairy Tinkerbell, it seems to be a thing that makes it's way into Japanese titles, like Battle Maiden Medusa or Lord of the Underworld Hades. I don't know why it is a thing, maybe because of translation? But I believe this may be why the name of Tinkerbell's ride sounds so weird.

    10:43 that would make a lot of sense (apart from Frozen), as Shanghai Disneyland’s Fantasy land is odd, very large, but very spread out, almost feeling empty. It’s unlike any other Fantasy land.

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  6 месяцев назад

      You could describe most of SHDL in that way. It’s like DisneySea with big gaps in between the gorgeous theming. I still love it there though!

    • @TobiasBroad
      @TobiasBroad 6 месяцев назад

      @@8bitthemepark the rest of SHDL is vast, but Fantasy land feels unfinished, incomplete. I’d always assumed it was intentional, the Chinese audience enjoying the wide green open spaces.

      @@TobiasBroad Yeah it’s funny, they left a lot of green spaces for people to bring their own food and have picnics, then less than a year after the park opened they banned people from bringing their own food and having picnics 😂

    The Fantasy Springs Hotel does look like it went through the most changes throughout development. The original concept of the Grand Chateau (very prominent art nouveau and 3-dimensional design) looks entirely different from the design we're getting (less art nouveau and more flat). It looks like they wanted the chateau to have more rooms. I could also very much understand how the OLC wasn't happy with the hotel (that Fantasy Chateau is something in particular). Also, there have been some photos and concept art leaked for the Peter Pan ride. It all seems to confirm how the attraction is similar to Spider Man. There are a bunch of photos for a scene with the tick tock crocodile on a screen blended in with some physical sets and there's some art of (presumably) a take-off scene. The photos seem to be from a behind-the-scenes imagineering video, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. For the Frozen ride, an OLC executive mentioned that it will be "one-of-a-kind" and will be different from the others. It could be a similar case to the monsters inc rides. I also wonder how the entry to the area could be handled. Will people be given some time limit once they get their pass? How will cast members know if someone isn't supposed to be there anymore if they will use a timed entry system?

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  10 месяцев назад +1

      Ah yes I’ve seen the croc footage from Peter Pan, that seemed to me to like be from the queue rather than the ride, but we’ll see!
      As for Frozen, I think an extra few scenes would make it an original ride, would it not? Would love to be wrong on that but that’s what seems most likely to me.
      And yea totally agree OLC can’t have been happy with the hotel for them to put a bunch more money into it then have the scrims to back up days later 😂
      Thanks for the thought out comment!

    Just discovered your channel. Great stuff friend. Going off your thoughts on the Peter Pan ride vehicle looking like the SpiderMan/Transformer vehicle I think your on to to something. Look at the concept art for the Avengers ride coming to DCA. Same idea

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks so much buddy!!
      I can’t think of anywhere else I’ve seen ride vehicles like that.. so it seems like the safest bet. Ooh the avengers thing is a good point, seems like after over 20 years Disney have finally realised how good this ride system is, maybe in another 10 we’ll get Disney robot arm rides!
      Still secretly hoping on something more dramatic but whatever it is I’m sure it’s going to be mind blowing!

    I really love how all the counter service resturants have insanely smart and great names, and then the rides just have these awful awful names 😂

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  7 месяцев назад +1

      It’s brilliant isn’t it 😂
      Apparently Imagineering had much better names (including Frozen Ever After) but they got changed by OLC who wanted them to be more Japanese.
      Disney movies in Japan tend to have very descriptive names. ‘Frozen’, for example, is ‘Anna and the Snow Queen’ and Pixar’s ‘Up’ is ‘Grandpa Carl’s Flying House’ so these names probably seem quite normal to people here.

    • @davidguthrie6316

      @@8bitthemepark I mean, all the signs for the rides are in English, aren't they? I'm not really bilingual, but I understand the fact that different things sound better or worse in different languages. But I know I'D be fine if the ride title was poorly translated, having a cooler English name, and a good-sounding Japanese name in Japanese. And for the most part, I've liked pretty much every other ride name they've made so far.
      Maybe it's just part of the 30-year-long pivot of the OLC from "We want everything you guys have" to "We want something great and exclusive"
