A wonderful roadmap for recommended and required certifications and more importantly how exams are related to role-based certifications. Thanks a lot for putting up such an informative video.
I want to give a big thanks to you guys, I literally just passed my AZ-900, after enrolling in the A Cloud Guru course and studying all the information you guys provided, I was able to comprehend the work and pass!!! Thanks again!! =)
@@LarsKlintTech Thank You!!! I'm thinking about the Azure Developer Associate AZ-204 but yet I still want to know the differences in job roles for architect, developer and admin. But yea, Developer is next.
@@manauryreyes7262 Great choice. AZ-204 is my part of Azure, being a developer. You aren't the only one that wonders about this, which is why we put together a whole series about what different cloud roles do. ruclips.net/video/vAbl3X3VrJo/видео.html
Thank you very much for simplifying certification exam path to follow for all the roles. I was stuck after passing AZ-900, what next? In most of the cases AZ-104 would be the next certification exam to go.
Thank you very much for making this video :) I myself was thinking of why something like this does not exists and can someone please simplify so that I Can just share a link to others :). thanks for making it.
Hey! Great video! Would you ever consider putting together a video showing roughly what each role-based certification could earn you in terms of salary? I'd be interested in having a look, even as just an estimate. I recently got my Modern Desktop Administrator Associate certification and landed my first IT job. I highly recommend people take these certifications seriously. They are a very big asset when it comes to landing a role. People will downplay their importance, and they'd be wrong.
Hey Chris. Thanks for the feedback. I don't think there is real value in guessing the salary for the roles or certifications. It can at best be a range, and there are already companies that offer those statistics to some extent. I'd argue it is better to follow what you are passionate about and naturally drawn to, and not only will a decent salary follow (companies often pay well for enthusiasm and passion about a product), but you will also love what you do.
From MS AZ-900 certification page, "Azure Fundamentals can be used to prepare for other Azure role-based or specialty certifications, but it is not a prerequisite for any of them." Please list it as 'ACG recommended' instead of 'MS needed' in roadmap for all certifications. Other than that, a nice summary of all the certifications.
When we first researched and scripted the video, that wasn't clear. And if you have no or little knowledge of Azure, it is very useful to do AZ-900 and will give you a much higher chance of success.
Thanks a lot for the great video, cleared up a lot in my head! Regarding the data path: where do you think the new DP-500 and PL-300 certifications fit in it?
There is a learning path of AWS on acloudguru based on role base. looking forward that soon acloudguru will cuarted a learning path of azure on role bases.
Game development is less associated with cloud computing, and Azure, than it is with tools like Unity or specific languages like C++. While most games will have a cloud component for multiplayer scenarios, optimization of rendering, or data collection, the actual game development isn't typically cloud based. From this video, you'd choose the Azure Developer learning path, which is the closest in skillset. I hope that make sense.
These courses are in production, so it won't be long. As always, giving exact dates is very difficult in a creative process, but they will be awesome 😊
The "SC" certs are still in beta, and they aren't completely Azure focused. For this guide, we had to stop somewhere (there's also M365, Power Platform and other "cloud enabled" categories), so the SC exams aren't included. AZ-104 will absolutely still help, but so will the SC exams. It depends on what skill set you want to learn, improve and ultimate test yourself in as well.
SC exams are security exams and are now publicly available. There are also some new interesting exams in beta like AZ-140 for WVD. If you are interested more (specially in beta exams), I can recommend you to follow Azure Learn Blog.
No because the many Microsoft certifications has changed their exams. For example Azure Solutions Architect Expert contain only one exam since 2023 - AZ-305
@@acloudguru About new Certification do you think that Windows Server Administrator Hybrid Associate and Azure Network Engineer Associate are the recommended or needed Certification in the Architect Path? So is there a learning path available to be an azure administrator after az104 .. or there is no such role as azure administrator or do we have to choose one of the 5 roles you told after az 104?
The Azure Admin path is the start of all the others tbh, except for developer. Knowing about networking, VMs, storage and other fundamentals is critical to all roles.
I think the AZ-700 fits better in the architect path. Solutions architects have expertise in compute, network, storage, security. Developers design, build, test, and maintain solutions. Developers implement applications and services by partnering with solution architects and customers.
Thanks Joi Joi. You could start with finding out if you like system administration (VMs, networking, user management), or cloud development (creating websites, building databases, creating machine learning models). That could guide you to either AZ-104 or AZ-204.
I'm using ACG's suggestions as the basis for my Data Engineer study plan. However the ACG roadmap is out of date now as there have been some changes by Microsoft - AZ-305 replaces both 303 & 304, some other new exams, and some changes to pre-requisite exam requirements are the main ones. Hopefully they update it soon.

@@atomicmole3727 If you have basic IT knowledge you can pretty much clear both AZ-900 and DP-900 withing 2 months. Just focus on learning and understanding topics rather than getting sucked in the certification loop. For any certification go to the Microsoft self faced track and read those (make notes if you need) than you can supplement it with PYQ and reading Azure service's actual documentation to understand more about the service.
