just a heads up. another asmrtist I watch was doing Lord Of the Rings whispered reading videos and had to stop due to copyright issues. it seems like Tolkien estate is overly zealous in that regard. the idea is that youtube reading can constitute as an unauthorized audiobook adaptation. but, I just thought of that, if throughout the reading you stop periodically and give commentary, it should theoretically put it into fair use category.
Some very greedy people out there. The author died over 50 years ago and still people are desperate for the money he generates them, even at this level.
I'm almost certain that Tolkien himself would have been incensed to hear that someone was preventing public performances of his book in his name. He would have been delighted to hear people enjoying his stories together.
