- In this ESP8266 project, I have shown how to make the IoT based Home Automation project using NodeMCU ESP8266 and New Blynk app to control 4 relays with real-time feedback. You can also control relays without WiFi from the manual switch. For this IoT project, I have used the FREE plan of the new Blynk IoT platform, so you can easily make this simple home automation system to control the appliances from anywhere in the world through the internet.

Required Components for the NodeMCU control Relay Module PCB:
1. Relays 5v (SPDT) (4 no)
2. BC547 Transistors (4 no)
3. PC817 Optocuplors (4 no)
4. 510-ohm 0.25-watt Resistor (4 no) (R1 -- R4)
5. 1k 0.25-watt Resistors (5 no) (R5 -- R9)
6. LED 5-mm (5 no)
7. 1N4007 Diodes (5 no) (D1 -- D5)
8. Push Buttons (4 no)

Important points:
1. In code, you have to update only the BLYNK_TEMPLATE_ID & BLYNK_DEVICE_NAME as shown in the video.
2. Keep all the 9 files (.ino & .h) in the same folder.
3. You have to reset NodeMCU to reconnect with the Wi-Fi.
4. If you use latched switch, then during reset the switch-2 (D3) must be turned OFF.
**Please take proper safety precautions while working with high voltages.
During this Blynk IoT tutorial video, I have explained all the steps to configure the new Blynk 2.0 platform for any IoT-based smart home automation system. If the NodeMCU is connected with WiFi then you can control the relays from anywhere in the world from mobile, and monitor the real-time feedback in the Blynk IoT applications. So with this smart house project, you can convert any home appliances to IoT devices and control them through the internet.

Error code
Error compiling for board NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module).
found it .. reason is new blynk version not supported just manually delete old blynk library and downgrade to 1.0.1
It is not a small limitation... its a huge limiataion.. just imagine you have placed the device inside a switch board... and wifi comes back !!!! How will you reset the board??? Not a good way of dealing with the problem.
Also the GPIO selection for the switches are really bad. As you know it will prevent the board from booting.... in short this project will have hard time working in reality... it is only good for youtube video.

I’m a fan of your channel and I find it very educational. If possible could you do a video on how to build and program a project with a microcontroller and a wifi module (like arruino nano and node mcu or wemos d1 mini) using the Blynk app?
I attempted to build one for my personal project but I’m bit stuck on how the data from the arduino nano will get read by the Blynk app through my wemos d1 mini. Your reply to this is hugely appreciated.

Sir, if anyone haven't any wifi connection or internet connection then I want to connect individual smart devices to my mobile. Like Any Smart bulb when we setup to its app then it show to connect the smart device wifi then setup I want like this when internet is not available then I am able to connect my mobile to that device own wifi network and control to app. Can you make this type of smart devices

I need help 🥺🥺🥺 I use mobile charger for ESP8266 power supply, but when it connect with long time Then ESP is damage...... How and what kind of power supply I use. ( For long time use)
You can use any stable 5V supply. When you restart the NodeMCU, make sure the switch2 (D3) should be OFF

The NodeMCU should be connected with the Home WiFi. Your mobile and NodeMCU are connected to Blynk server through internet. So when you press the button in Blynk app, it send the signal to Blynk server through the internet. And the NodeMCU received that signal from Blynk server. Here both the mobile and NodeMCU should be connect to internet.
