Bmw m2 has bigger fenders. And the engine (370hp) is better build for the track. The quad exhaust sounds very good. You can increase the Power up to 430hp with sportscat, Upgrade intercooler and Software. The M240i (340hp) has a newer and better engine, better cooled, and able to increase the Power up to about 480hp only with sportscat and Software. And the petrol consumption is better.
@@JKV. you have no clue, i don't think you could pay 90k+ on an m2, the s55 engine is pretty reliable and i don't think if you take care of it, anything would go wrong

We tune these to Approx. the same amount of HP (470HP) and 702NM of torque with less aggressive ignition timing and better boost control. Of course upgrade HPFP + DP needed. Yet, very nicely tuned overall and great numbers!

@@vollcare4076 It's not the catless downpipe to blame here. It's the removal of the center resonator/silencer. I know this because I introduced the same sort of rasp, albeit not as loud, on my catted M240i. So yes, going for a sport cat would reduce the overall loudness of the rasp, but it's not the root cause.

This induced exhaust firing is pain in the ass. After 3 days being "cool" it gets onto your nervs and all the people that hear you from outside think that vour **** is to small and that you need a way to compensate!
Strong engines ! Love my M140i, with a conservative dyno result of 455bhp/634nm, with only a 200 cell Wagner cat, & ITG panel filter. XHP3 made a massive difference too. This particular car pulls like a train, but sounds horrible.
So the question is.. do i need to upgrade turbos to let’s say race stock or lightly tuned cars in the same power class or is the it self fast enough to pull a Rs 3 for example
@@seibt6466 RS3's cream me off the line, in fact all AWD hot hatches do, but that's boring to me, and why I didn't buy one. After 40/45 mph I'm gaining on them and past 70 I go past. On a rolling I gap RS3's and all other standard hot hatches.
Do you have the 200 Cell combined with a completely stock exhaust system (without MPerformance Muffler etc.)? How much did the sound improve after adding the high flow cat?
@@sveeny Yes standard exhaust. Sound improved in my opinion but didn't make it childishly loud. I get a bit more burble on over run, and it's generally a bit deeper and slightly louder. I have also wired my exhaust valve open, so it sounds like that all the time.
Just an update, I wrote the M140i off 🙂 Now in an OG M2. It's a bit slower in a straight line (but still faster off the line, due to diff and wide tyres). Around corners it is on another level.
That the M240i has the b58 engine where as the m2 has the n55 also because the power is different stock with the m240i having 340hp and the m2 having 370 and lastly the M2 has a dual clutch transmission and the m240i has an 8 speed automatic
How did it drive with all that extra power in lower speed situations? I have a 6MT car and I'm worried a decat and a stage 2 tune will just break the stock size tires loose all the time and not really result in any net gain. I don't track the car but as a daily I do wish it had more torque down low, a lot of it is at the high end and runs way too high on the speedo to be usable outside the highway.
@@sinoperture LOL no BMW has ever had a V6 engine in any production cars. They do test development V6 engines, but so far they have not made a production one. This has a B58 straight 6 with a twin scroll turbo.

LOL...try finding me a M2 comp for under 50k USD right now. I'll wait. m240/340/440s with decent miles can be had from 30-40k in the US. Good luck even trying to find a M2C for sale. My dealer told me there's a 6 month waitlist.

This has the B58, which is the successor of the N55 and better in every single way (power, reliability, tunability). The question becomes. why would anyone buy an OG m2 when you can get the B58 for the same price if not less? The answer is no one would, which is why you see so many OG m2s for cheap.
It's a cool car and it sure is going like hell and all. But those pops and bangs are getting really old. I don't mind an occasional slight burble or pop but this is just stupid. It sounds synthetic and obnoxious and only increases the hate that people already have against car enthusiasts.

My M140i with 455bhp/634nm is fine in the dry, with PS4 tyres, but in the wet it's sideways constantly.
